We had hired HIP in 2011 to do our basement and were thrilled. This time it was Ben who came out to quote our job. The quote was detailed. This time around we opted for HIP's design services. For slightly more money we were able to work with Ivanka, who helped us select colours, fixtures and the tiles. Tim and his crew were pleasant to have around. The job had to be delayed a few days due to some of the fixtures we had ordered arriving late, and HIP were completely accommodating. Ben told us the job would take 2 weeks or less. Demolition started on a Wednesday morning and the guys were done the following Friday. It's rare to find people that go above and beyond to deliver on what they promise. HIP did that for us both on our basement and now on our bathroom.

We recently decided to have our two bathrooms renovated and we engaged The Home Improvement People. Jerry and Max did the work for us and they have done an outstanding job, were very friendly, very clean and always punctual. The work on both bathrooms was completed ahead of schedule. Jerry is very meticulous and he would not stop until everything was perfect. We would recommend Jerry and Max to anyone planning on a bathroom renovation.

My wife and I contracted the Home Improvement People to renovate the upstairs of our house (floors and bathrooms) that we just purchased. We were very impressed by the professionalism that Elia and Kyle showed, as well as the quality of the work done by their team. They were even able to work around a delay caused by our floor supplier, and provided the extra "touches" we requested during the job at no extra cost. We're both extremely happy with our new house and have already recommended the Home Improvement People to friends who are looking to renovate.

Dear Ben & Dan, My apologies for taking 6 weeks to get to this. You certainly never kept me waiting. I signed The H.I.P initially to do my basement. I could tell immediately that I had found a company that I wanted to work with so in the middle of the basement reno - we started the design work on the kitchen. My wife has unique taste and the cabinets were a color that we had seen at a trade show but could not find or have replicated to our satisfaction at other showrooms that we tried. Jamie and Ben worked with her to get the exact color and material she envisioned. The final product for both renos was just superb. We found you guys through Homestars and so we are returning the favor by assisting other homeowners in helping them find what we found. Diane and I are already discussing the bathrooms upstairs and you know who we will call. All the best in 2014. Merry Christmas.

Just a short note to thank Jerry & Max for the painless bathroom reno. I have been thru many renos over the years however have never come across anyone as articulate and prideful of their work as Jerry. He was constantly addressing my needs and concerns on a daily basis. They were professional courteous and respectful of my home. I had a terrific experience with the Home Improvement people after my basement flooded in the July storms. They came to assess my damage immediately and made an extremely distressing situation pleasant. The very next morning I had blowers drying out the basement and an incredible crew ready to work. They were cheerful, quick and respectful. My drywall had to be ripped out and replaced and all my floors needed to be replaced. Dan came to oversee the work many times through out and was always available to answer our many questions. I would recommend this company to anyone and will definitely be using them again soon.

Best renovating experience we've had! Jerry and his crew were amazing. They were extremely punctual and finished a beautiful bathroom as quickly and professionally as they promised. Their attention to detail was great and lent to a stunning finished product. They even had great hookups for tiles and fixtures which saved us hundreds of dollars! The Home Improvement people were excellent and completed a MAJOR renovation, in a good-sized bathroom, in 8 consecutive working days! At any time there were 3 or 4 people working here, which meant I wasn't waiting for someone to show up, and it definitely ensured the job was done in as short a time as possible. The tradespeople were respectful, competent and knowledgeable, careful of everything in our home, cleaned up their work every day, and just a pleasure to have in the house. Having a project manager was invaluable; I could always reach him with my questions, and for those supplies which I was unable to get myself, he arranged for them to be purchased and picked up for me. I would highly recommend the Home Improvement people, and would use them again for anything else that needs to be done.

HIP did an amazing job on an extensive and challenging bathroom reno. Ben was very bold in his statements about how great his company is to work with, and it turned out to be much more than hyperbole! We gutted a space in a 140 yr old house that included a 20 foot vaulted ceiling with a skylight. On top of these challenges, it was the only full bath in the house, so there was significant time pressure. Despite the usual exciting surprises found behind the walls, the HIP team (very ably led by Gerhard and Nucu) were able to complete all of the work in an astounding 2 weeks, including demo. Heated floor, separate bath, curbless shower, glass wall tile, all accomplished to a very high standard. On the final day there was an incident where the vanity got damaged (the guys were very disappointed and apologetic). After looking it over, they decided that it could not be reasonably repaired, and a week later they came back and installed an identical brand new replacement, with no action required of us. Finally, despite the aggressive timeline, the quality of the work is uniformly very high, we're thrilled.
