Driveway Paving and new stonework in backyard
We are very pleased with the work that Metro Wide Paving did at our home this fall. We selected them based on their reputation and that they not only do paving, they also do stonework and concrete work. We had our old interlocking brick driveway removed and asphalt and new curbs installed. As well, all old large patio stones were removed and replacement with new up to date stonework in our backyard patio area. Jason was very thorough in providing us a clear quote and recommendations. Lou and his crew did an amazing job with our patio area in the backyard and the paving crew did a great job on our driveway. Work was a bit delayed in getting completed (at no fault of MWP as mother nature was just not co-operating). Joe assured us that all work would be completed and it was! All the workers were very respectful of our property and our neighbourhood when they were here working. They cleaned up after each job and answered any additional questions we had. You have a great team Joe and we will be contacting Jason again in the Spring to discuss options for re-facing our old concrete front porch. Driveway paving and new curbs
Excellent service.....we needed a repair after a heavy vehicle turned around in our driveway; they came and repaired within days. I would definitely recommend them from the quote to the finished product to the repair.

Front driveway, asphalt, stone and concrete
What I liked most about metrowide is that they were able to do all three types of work (stone, concrete and asphalt) so we didn't have to work with more than one company. The work they did was very solid and the crew they sent were very nice. It's not the cheapest and the final bill was more than the quote. However, there is something to be said about their customer service. Two years later, our asphalt was deforming - they came back and fixed it! You rarely see this level of customer service- this is exceptional and amazing! Our driveway looks great again!

concrete patio and curbs, asphalt driveway
I had a front concrete patio and driveway curbs done followed by asphalt driveway foundation for curbs were dug very deep. ensuring a strong curb. The staff right from top down were all great. The cement and asphalt crews were all pros and curtious. I had lots of fun with them they actually enjoyed their work. The cement crew even came up with good suggestions for me to consider, I eliminated a step at the front patio which was great this was done by sloping concrete. this made my front entrance more appealing. and they we're also willing to help in anyway they could with the project. going the extra mile to make the customer happy. I would recommend this company to anyone who needs a good job done at a fair price. all they rain did not help but people out there need to understand companies cannot control the weather. and would people rather have a job done quickly or done right. I would choose the latter every time. done right. so be patient.

Driveway & Landscaping
We have had several landscaping and paving companies do work on our property over the past 21 years. I must say that Metro Wide paving has been the most professional and have completed the best work of all. The owner, Joe Zappia was very pleasant to deal with and completed the work as quoted both on time and to the penny. Another point that impressed me is that when I did call back to request a follow up for small touch ups, the Metro Wide team showed up immediately and completed what I requested on time and to my satisfaction. That is not something that you can say about many other paving/landscaping companies. Usually once they have your money, you're done and at their mercy. I would strongly recommend Joe Zappia and the Metro Wide Paving team for any paving or landscaping work that you may require.

Widened & repaved driveway
Metro Wide widened & repaved our driveway 15 years ago. Of the 10 or so companies we called Joe Zappia was was the only one of two who responded. He showed up on time gave us good advice and a fair quote and his crew did the work well and on time. Since then they have been twice to do a little maintenance work and he drops by now and then to keep in touch when he's in our area. We asked him to give us his opinion on trying to fix a problem where the lawn slopes to the driveway and our car encroaches on the grass. He could have talked us into spending money but instead suggested we leave well alone as any solution would involve disturbing the roots. of a beautiful, mature tree. He also told us that the driveway is doing well and wouldn't need repair for quite a while. Joe is ethical and reliable and we appreciate his honesty. And the bonus is that he's a really nice guy.

Paving A Narrow and Irregular Driveway
Originally, set up a request for an estimate by a handful of paving contractors. Jason, came right on time and measured our narrow amd odd-shaped driveway. He meticulously measured each section and drew a clear drawing with measurements and square footage required to complete the job. No other estimator from the 5 local paving companies managed to demonstrate this level of quality. If an estimator can't show this exactness then it leaves the homeowner questioning the level of quality/commitment they will receive. One estimate showed a circle with no set of dimensions or square footage. Just the price. One of the biggest challenges for a homeowner is to coordinate tradespeople with each other beyond having to deal with the weather for outside projects. We had our old driveway excavated and a new 80 ft. retaining wall built last year and this year was to place stone facing and an asphalt driveway. We asked Joe to work around our bricklayer's request to coordinate his masonry work with the grading/paving. Joe brought his staff out and graded and removed an old section of stone pavers. Our bricklayer had a busy summer so we squeezed his work in between Metro Wide. Our bricklayer came and did the majority of his work and then a couple of weeks later, Joe returned to finish his work. Joe's staff (Fabio, Angelo, Richard, Benny, et al.) were very professional. They completed the grading with additional gravel (as agreed) and paved accordingly. This is a family-run business that has been operating for a significant amount of time. Well done. They cleaned up and were very tidy with their own equipment, too. They tested the drainage to be sure that water would flow away from the home as well as to the drains previously installed. The next day it rained and it was beautiful. Nothing but complements. Looking forward to seeing it at the end of the winter and how it holds up. All work and materials are guaranteed for 12 months from the date of completion.

Interlocking
These guys are pros. Came in and did my interlocking in the promised time. After they were done Joe came by and looked at the work himself and made the crew do some finishing touches. Would recommend to anyone looking for quality work.

Patio stones
I would not work with this company again. They came to my house in early spring and I gave them a $350 deposit to have my patio done. They agreed to have it done by the middle to end of June. This was written into the contract with them. That date came and went and I heard nothing from them. So I started calling and again heard nothing. After another week went by, I was starting to get worried about my deposit and my hopes of having a new patio for the summer, when Jason (the individual I had been dealing with) called me and apologized, saying there had been personal family issues they were dealing with and and one of their crew had been badly hurt. This, he explained, was why they had not arrived to do the job as promised. I believed his explanation and, as a result, agreed to proceed with the project and a new date was set. However, just before the date arrived, we found a crack in our foundation and I called them to let them know we had to postpone the patio renovation as the foundation wall ran alongside the patio and we had to dig it out to fix it on the outside. Since our condominium board could not give us a firm date other than this fall, we called and asked if we could get our deposit back for now, as it is a lot of money. However, someone named Joe – I had been dealing with Jason, but he was not available – took this call and after bullying me and arguing with me, said I could have a partial fund. I didn't feel that was fair because they had failed to honour their contract and I thought I had been very fair and agreeable to them given their circumstances over their missing the deadline. When Joe continued his aggressive behaviour to me and said I could have a partial refund or nothing at all, tired of dealing with him I hung up the phone, realizing this conversation wasn't going to get any better and I don't believe anyone should have to listen to someone yelling at them and talking to them in a bullying manner. To further illustrate his bad attitude, the next day he left me an aggressive voice mail message demanding to know if I had hung up the phone on him. I believe I have now lost my $350 deposit to this company. I do not recommend using them, because not only did they fail to live up their end of the bargain as promised, the behaviour of this one individual was neither professional nor acceptable.

The rating of you have provided us is absolutely irrational as we have made numerous attempts tp complete the work. We have been in constant communication with you, and have responded to all of your inquires. The only reason the job has not been completed is because you continue to put us off due to you foundation issues you need to rectify. We have agreed to complete the work next year if necessary, but that is not to your satisfaction. As it clearly states on the contract you signed with us, all deposits are non-refundable. Our position has remained through this entire endeavour that we are happy to complete the work as soon as you fix your foundation issues and allow us access to the property. A timeline of events are as follows: - Evening of June 24th we called to notify of our intention to come Monday the 27th to complete the work. That weekend you called us to notify us that you had an issues with your foundation that needed to be fixed before we could build your patio. We said whenever you are ready, we will come to do the project. - During the middle of July we called you again, in an attempt to complete the work. Again you told us there was still issues with the foundation, and you did not have a timeline yet as to when it would be repaired. Once again we told you to call us when you are ready. - In august we called you again to see if you were ready for us to come, or have a timeline for us. You said that it again had not yet been repaired, and that at this point you did not believe it would be fixed this year. We said not problem, we will complete the project for you in the Spring. - On september 24th you called us and demanded your deposit back as we have not completed the work. However the work was not completed only due to your foundation issues, and we have made many attempts to due so. We explained again that we are happy to complete the work whenever you allow us to do so. We informed you that, as clearly stated on the contract you signed, deposits are non-refundable. After further discussion, and as a gesture of good will, we agreed to pay you back the majority of your deposit back, minus a $150 administration fee, as we made numerous visits to your house, and many phone calls with your before and after the signing of the contract. This was not acceptable to you at this time. You then hung up on Joe while he was explaining this to you. Joe called you back to discuss the matter and come to resolution, but you did not pick up his phone call. You also did not return any of our phone calls from there forward. - There after you came online and wrought this unfair and unfounded review on us. As we have made many attempts to complete the job this year, and been very accommodating to your situation, as well as being very involved and communicative along the way, i do not see how any of this situation warrants a 0 review. Sometimes you cannot satisfy every customer, even when the issues that causes the delays have nothing to do with you or your company. I hope our future clients can see the forest from the trees and that we made very attempt possible to complete the contract anreven reimburse part of a non-refundable deposit.

Outstanding job on Asphalt
We hired Joe to complete our asphalt paving after he was recommended by our interlocking guy. Joe was very professional and the job was done on time by Richard. We are very pleased with the service.
