So my kitchen drain was plugged, well not completely plugged but it had gotten to a point were it would take forever to drain. I heard of Homestars and decided to give them a try to find a reputable plumber. I saw that this company has a high rating with a 9.8 so i decided to give them a try. A plumber named George came to the house, he was very kind and polite and managed to clear my clog in little under an hour. I was handed a bill for $300. I was upset to hear how much it cost, but I assumed that this was a fair price so i had to bight my tounge, put on a smile and pay the gentleman. My problems came afterward. Later that week I had been talking to one of my friends who had a similar plumbing problem, but they had a bathtub that was not draining fast enough. They had called another company to come in and use the electric snake (same tool they used) to unblock the clog. When I asked how much it cost her she told me it only cost her $150!!! I paid double that! and she told me the plumber was there for an hour and a half. I had read some complaints about this company and there pricing on this Homestars review forum and it seems that the response this company keeps giving is that there pricing is in line with industry standards. So i decided to call the "industry" and get some pricing. To my surprise Waterworks prices were at least 50% higher then the other places I called. I mentioned to some other companies that i had WaterWorks give me an estimate of $300 and they all laughed at me and told me i was getting ripped off. They told me not to call these companies with huge ads because they have to pay for them by inflating the bill. The highest price i got from the competition was $200, but the majority of them came in around the $160-$180 range.
I liked how this company was on time and did the work as they described but the pricing is just out of wack. . Will not call again and cannot recommend.
