We were originally happy with their work upon completion of the job. After a year, however, it became clear that their approach to drainage and their additional recommendations (e.g. leaf guards) added to our water and ice problems. All of the things their work was supposed to solve were actually made worse by their interventions. Other trough companies have agreed. Tip Top are good guys but they did a bad job for us. Hopefully just a one-off.

I called the two eavestrough companies rated 1 and 2 on the Homestars website and left messages about needing my eavestroughs replaced numerous times - neither ever bothered to call me back. I called Top Top Trough and Pierce called me back promptly and came around to provide an estimate within a few days - exactly as he promised. He gave me the good news that he could repair, rather than replace my eavestroughs - and the repairs were done within about a week. I didn't need to be home for any of it. He was a pleasure to deal with and I would not hesitate to call him again or recommend him to someone else.

I chose Tip Top from the high ratings it had on Home Stars and - once again - this service proved its merit, as did Pierce and the team at Tip Top. They delivered, exactly as promised. Pierce was great to deal with on the phone and he and his team (who actually did the job) turned up as expected and did everything the way they said they would. It was a really first class effort, and experience. I highly recommend this company, through homestars and will also be recommending them to colleagues and friends. If you (like me) are procratinating about who to call and whether or not to get the job done... take my advice, just pick up the phone and call Pierce, you won't be disappointed!

We had disconnected our downspouts on our typical East York bungalow and needed to redo the downspout locations. As the eavestroughs were aging and the 'nail-in' variety we decided to get them redone. Pierce dropped by the house to assess the job without us having to be there and even left us a notice to let us know that he had been and was preparing the quote - a touch which surprised us as proper communication doesn't happen often. His quote came through a few days later and was fair for the job. Pierce mentioned that their schedule was pretty busy and we would have to wait about a month until they were able to get to us, but then managed to fit us in on the weekend two weeks later. He said his team would be at our house between 8-10am in the morning and there they were at 8am (apparently traffic was light). Nice to deal with contractors that realize scheduling and timing is as important to the customer as it is to themselves. The manager of the team, Marsad (sp?) was very friendly and patient. He reviewed the full scope of the job before starting and made sure that we were comfortable with what they were installing. The whole job was complete and cleaned up after 2 hours. Marsad let us know that they were done and made sure that we reviewed and were happy with everything before he left. Overall, a very satisfying experience and I have no hesitation in recommending these guys.

Tip Top Trough removed our existing eaves troughs and installed new ones. Their estimate was fair and thoroughly described the work to be done. Pierce was very flexible with his schedule as we had to postpone our roof repairs because of weather. Once we set a date, the work was done quickly and cleanly. I wasn't home when the work was done and other than the new troughs, there was no evidence that anyone had been there -- no mess or debris in the yard. I am very happy to recommend this company.

I heard of Pierce through a friend, looked him up on Homestars and saw the excellent comments people were saying about him. We moved into this house almost 2 years ago and we gutted the inside but knew that we would have to focus on the outside this year. I called Pierce and was impressed! He came by the house provided us with an inspection of our property, gave me a quote and what he recommends over the phone. He did the work and I didn’t need to be there. We called him back because the leak seal wasn’t 100% (which he warned me about). He came, fixed it. About a week later I received an invoice, I mailed a check and it was done! Would recommend them to anyone looking for quality work.

I have hired Tip Top Trough to work on both my old and new houses. First Pierce did some eavestrough cleaning and installed a new downpipe to help with a bad overflow problem. Then when we moved and were in need of some installation work because of the renovations we did, I called Pierce for a quote. We hired him and the work was done promptly and the finished product was perfect. Even the soffit holes they cut for the pot lights are perfect. I have passed his name along to my friends and family and would recommend Tip Top Trough to anyone on this site!

I got Pierce’s name and number from my daughter-in-law who used Tip Top Trough a few times and has been very happy with their work. I had Pierce come by and provide an estimate for cleaning and hired him shortly after. They came by (while we were at the cottage) and did a great job cleaning. Very convenient and pleasant to deal with!

In the middle of February the ice dam on the front of our house was so bad we had huge icicles that damaged the front downpipe and huge amounts of water would cascade over when the weather got warm. My wife saw a lawn sign from Tip Top Trough and called for a quote. In a few days we had hired them to replace the downpipe and remove a portion of the ice dam that was soaking our wall. They did a great job and we had no other problems for the rest of the winter!

I hired Tip Top to disconnect my eaves from the underground city system. They were very courteous and professional. My basement does not leak anymore. I am now going to call them to look at my leaky roof!
