Our garage door suddenly stopped working properly last week. I called Markham Garage Doors and had an appointment set up for service within a few short days. John arrived today within the given timeframe and was terrific! He was able to diagnose the problem quickly and had everything repaired within an hour. I highly recommend Markham Garage Doors!

Late on a Monday, I discovered that there was no power in my garage. The GFCI had tripped and would not reset. When I disengaged the chain on the garage door opener, I still could not lift the door, discovering that one spring had broken in half. I checked reviews on Homestars and called around. Markham Garage Doors was highly reviewed, competitive and in the neighbourhood. My discussion with Customer Service was clear, understandable and the agent was very responsive to questions. No one pressured me or made me feel uninformed. I was able to book an appointment the next afternoon. Avery the technician arrived on-time, confirmed the work to be done, explained the likely cause of the problem and undertook the replacement and rebalancing in less time than I expected. He showed me his work and was very pleasant even when he had to advise that the 25+ years old opener had burned out and would need to be replaced. He was quick to explain and demonstrate that I would have no problem opening and closing the door until I decided whether I wanted to replace the defunct opener. He indicated that the company could also undertake the work. When asked whether they installed openers purchased from others, he indicated the cost of that service but suggested that I call his company to get a quote. The work area was left very clean and no garbage was left behind. Given that it was around in the mid 30’s that day, he was very nice to speak with and very efficient. Purchase and installation was once again competitively priced. I booked an appointment for two days later due to Canada Day. On the day of installation, Avery called to apologize and explain that he would be delayed by 20 minutes and then arrived as promised. Once again, he confirmed the work to be done, explained the product and changes he would be making to my existing set up and undertook the work. When he was done, he explained the new apparatus and answered my questions thoroughly, ensuring that I understood. Once again, the area was left tidy and clean. Thank you for such good service.

I can't recommend these guys enough. I had called around four or five spots and submitted pretty verbose details (voice mails and website forms) on the issue. I gave them a call after hours and they were ringing my phone bright and early the next morning. Ernie called a couple times but I didn't get back to him through the day. I finally reached back out after hours that evening and Kevin answered and said Ernie would get in contact with me to coordinate a time to swing by. He happened to swing by the very next morning as they had our address and noticed our propped open door and both cars in the driveway. Knocked on the door, ready to work. Jumped in and replaced the spring, greased and tuned where he saw it was needed. Our follow up conversation was great and appreciated being able to talk on the same level. The quote and final number was pretty well aligned. No surprises. Emailed the invoice and online payment was streamlined. Big thanks to Ernie, Kevin and the rest of their staff. We were looking to install a brand new single garage door with an opener. Louis was so quick to reply to our inquiry. He even called to walk us through with what we needed in detail. When he came to measure our door, he was extremely pleasant and professional. The quote breakdown was clear and there were no hidden costs. The installation was done by another well mannered professional and was very thorough. He even took the time to show my senior dad how to set wifi with the garage opener. Our neighbours all loved the work and we had at least 5 of them asking for the phone number!

Garage door stopped working. I called Markham and spoke with Chris. He guessed the problem on the phone and made sure Ernie had the correct parts on his truck. The door was repaired the next day. Fast, friendly, compete repair at a reasonable price.

Had new automated garage doors installed about 8 months ago. One of the doors was not closing smoothly. Markham doors responded right away and sent John F. the next week to correct the issue. John was very thorough with checking all possibilities out. Found the problem and corrected it plus lubricated and oiled where needed. John was very polite and professional and phoned ahead to confirm his arrival time. Excellent service.....highly recommend.

It was very straightforward and easy to deal with Markham Garage Doors and they provided a competitive quote for a new garage door and opener, highest insulation rating. All the staff in office are professional and response and the installation technician was also very professional, helpful and did an excellent job. I would recommend them, in fact I already have to family who are looking to get some work done.
