    New Furnace

We were very pleased with the service we received from Richard and Coretemp. They arrived the day after our initial phone call to assess the problem and were back to install our new furnace one week later. Very professional and thorough. Thanks!

    Furnace, Hepa Filter, AC

I was victim to the Etobicoke Flood in July 2013. I called Richard to inspect my furnace & AC. He came right away, gave my "clean up" company his quote. He was very professional. He also inspected many of my neighbours. He dealt directly with my insurance company, very professional. Today he and his very polite crew came on time as set up previously, and installed all my appliances; furnace, hepa filter, & AC. They were very efficient and professional, allowed me to inspect at each stage. After completion, my home was left cleaner than when they came in for the installation. I trust Richard and feel he is very knowledgeable and honest. Thank you Richard for a job well done. The young men on your crew are also an asset. I have given many my Core Temp contact, trustworthy and reliable.

    New furnace, AC and humidifer

My wife and I bought an older fixer-upper with a 25+ year old furnace and AC unit. The AC limped through the summer months and barely worked, but once we started running the furnace, it was obvious that there was a problem - the unit was very loud and vibrated horribly. Based on positive HomeStars reviews, we called Richard from Coretemp to assess the situation for us and see if it would be worth repairing the furnace. Richard picked up the phone immediately and even arranged to drop by that same evening. Within ten minutes, he identified several problems including a vent motor that was just about toast - unbalanced and had a bad seal. He also discovered a cracked heat exchanger, which was a serious safety issue requiring the gas to the furnace to be shut off. I have to admit that I was a bit skeptical about the cracked heat exchanger, but he even inserted a special camera right into the furnace's internals to confirm and show me. Sure enough, it was badly cracked in several places. This would obviously be an expensive repair, so we decided that we'd just replace the furnace. Richard explained the problems to us in great detail and spent time going over our options. What I liked most was that he was very low-pressure and didn't push us at all. He simply gave us our options, was very patient with my many questions and even encouraged us to do our own research and compare pricing. We decided to stick with Coretemp because of their fair pricing, reputation, Richard's experience, and the fact that he doesn't sub-contract out any of the work. In the end, we decided to replace the AC and humidifier as well as they barely worked and were on their last legs. We really liked the higher end, high-efficiency Lennox gear that Richard showed us (especially the SLP98 furnace, which is awesome). After giving the go-ahead, Richard was able to schedule the install just a couple of days later. He arrived on time with two other technicians, Eric and Nolan and were all very hard working, professional and very friendly. After about six hours, they had the old units removed, everything installed and very thoroughly cleaned up after themselves. Richard even took the time to show me the cracks again from the outside once they had the old furnace disassembled. Richard asked us questions every step of the way to ensure everything was installed and positioned in the way we wanted, including the AC unit and drain/exhaust piping. Their attention to detail was very apparent, and although I'm not an HVAC expert, I could definitely see that they did quality work. Once finished, he spent time going over the operation of everything, how to send out for the rebates, and gave us a demo of the really nifty icomfort touch-screen thermostat (which is also awesome). We couldn't be happier with the furnace and the AC unit - what an incredible difference - and very quiet too! Overall, I'd have to say that we were extremely satisfied with this experience from beginning to end and would not hesitate to recommend Coretemp to anyone looking to get their furnace or AC replaced or serviced. Thanks again Richard!

    New Furnace

I was very satisfied and would highly recommend Richard, Coretemp, and his crew (Eric and Nolan), as well as the office support provided by Janice. Richard kept me fully informed as to when he would show up, and mentioned the possibility of getting started even earlier in the morning (7:30 am), which sounded great to me (so I could get on with my day). The quote was emailed when he committed it would be, and all expectations created were met. I watched almost all of the installation, and everyone answered all of my questions politely and professionally (and I tend to ask a lot of questions). I could see great care was taken to do the job properly the first time, and to not cut any corners. They also left my basement cleaner than they had found it. I did not get multiple quotes on this job, but my previous interaction with Richard (quoting on a Tankless Water Heater) earned my trust (ie, factors taken into account on proper placement, financial justification, etc). Coretemp is probably not the lowest-cost provider out there; however, I was impressed with their professionalism, punctuality, follow through, attention to detail, and speed.

    Air Conditioning

Left a message for Richard on Sunday as my A/C was not working. Few hours later he called back and setup appointment for following day. Eric arrived on schedule and tried a few things but could not get to work. Was determined A/C unit needed replacing. A quick call to Richard and scheduled for next day for replacement. Richard and Eric arrived on time, were fast, proficient and professional. Had my house cooling back down in no time. Would highly recommend CoreTemp for any A/C, Heating issues. Thanks Richard and Eric.

    AC Repair

Richard is upfront and listens which are traits that I value tremendously. When I called Richard, I told him that I already had an AC technician in to diagnose my AC unit. The diagnosis was that there was a coolant leak (the inside of the furnace/AC was turning into a block of ice instead of cooling the house) and the technician's solution was to flush the system, fill it with nitrogen to find the leak(s) and then recharge the system with coolant. It was described that this would be an arduous process that would cost $800 to $1200. Alternatively, I could buy a new system for about $3000. Both of these options seemed too costly so I was looking for a second opinion. Richard said that the proposed solution was overdoing it and he said that he would examine the system for the most common leak points based on his many years of experience, address them and then recharge the system with coolant. He found the leak right away, dealt with it and recharged the system and this cost me about $350. Richard also increased the fan speed because the upper level of the house wasn't cooling very well. I am pleased to say that the house now reaches the set temperature quickly throughout the house. Thank you Richard.

    New LENNOX Furnace

You can tell that Richard with his crew of Erik and Nolan take pride in their chosen profession. Their attention to detail is greatly appreciated. It was also a pleasure in conversing with Janice at the Mississauga office. I would highly recommend CORETEMP Heating and Air Conditioning.

    A/C

Richard came promptly when my A/C broke down during the heat wave and got it runing for the weekend and showed up on Monday to replace the A/C on time and on budget.
