We found Rocco searching Home Stars. I designed (3D CAD) a large carport with some "fancy" features. When Rocco reviewed my design he accepted it pretty much as I designed it, producing some high quality and detailed construction plans. But he also advised that it violated 2 building codes, lot line proximity and lot coverage, however in a minor way. As a result it would need Committee of Adjustment approval and he guided us through the application, which was summarily approved without contest. He was always available when I needed him, as busy as he is. I have no hesitation recommending him or using his expertise again.

Got my permit drawings done pretty fast. Applied to Committee of adjustment for minor variance, too. Feasibility study for second floor addition should have been more thorough, though. Prior to the design phase, a soil test engineer reported on the existing footings and soil to see if the addition was possible. We were told that the numbers looked good, so we proceeded with the design. Unfortunately, when we were ready for construction, we had some tense days when the general contractor that we hired said they also needed a report from a structural engineer attesting to the integrity of the foundation. Eventually, we got the engineer whose name was stamped on the drawings to provide the report.

First time working with Rocco for plans and permits and he is very impressive, fast and excellent work. I'm glad to find this company. I would recommend Rocco to friends and family.

Rocco helped me to apply for a permit to convert my detached house into 2 apartment and underpinning. I would say that this is one of a greatest choice that I ever made. I was suspuciois at the beginning but as we worked together it just getting better and better. He spend time to think about solutions that would works for my requirements and meet the requirement from the building code. He also finished the jobs real quick. It tool 1 week from the day that he measured the house to finished the drawing and apply for a permit. It was actually faster but one day was added on because of wrong information provided by my neighbour for the underpinning drawing. After submitting the application, the city got back with one minor change and he revised it and submitted it on the next day!!!! It took 3 weeks total to get the permit from the city. I know that I have found my architect for all of the future work.

Rocco helped my wife and I with drawings for an addition to our downtown Toronto House. Our plot is small and we were aware of some the extra hurdles involved in the permitting as we were going beyond the bylaw compliant GFA. Rocco provided us in no time with the first drafts and within a couple of weeks of his site visit he presented the project to the city. He also took care of the committee of adjustment process being fully successful. I attended the meeting at city hall where our project jointly with other 20 were reviewed and I can tell that Rocco’s presentation and supporting documents where simply perfect, way over the average of the cases presented that day. After approval and the start of my renovation project I’ve been always a phone call or a text away from Rocco’s advice, including follow up site visits, straight talk with my contractor and dealing with new permits. I hope I will complete my project within the next month and I’ve told Rocco that we’ll be honored to have him over for the first get together at my new kitchen/dining area as a show of our appreciation. I required "to scale" site and floor plans for my home renovation. The removal and shifting of walls was required. Rocco Schipano was able to draft the plans with a really quick turnaround and submit them for me for Building Permits. He was able to confidently advise me of my options resulting in an excellent plan that I hadn't previously considered, i.e., like the removal of walls. Rocco certainly knew his stuff and I am grateful to have found him. I am happy to recommend Architalcan Design with confidence.

Rocco was reasonable and responsive with respect to this project. He was able to obtain permits in a timely manner and was accommodating when I required modifications to my site plans.

Hello, In april of this year i was looking for a good architect for my new custom home in etobicoke, After asking around, Rocco's name came up from diferent sources. He was able to get his hands on my project right away and in a week time evrth was in for permits and in another week i had the permits emailed. Murteza was very easy to deal too... Rocco is very reliable, always answers his phone ( not like many others that dont even return calls) and in 2 occasions where my framers had a hard time with something Rocco came by to help with his expertise faster than a pizza delivery:) I am happy i hired Rocco for my project and i would highly recomend his company.
