Paul is the best contractor to work on my house to date. He is professional, knowledgeable and conscientious. Paul took his time to explain different options to me and made intelligent and cost-saving suggestions that I never thought of. Paul is honest and fair - refreshing qualities. He completed the job on time and left my house clean and tidy. The basement looks amazing already. Paul also has a reliable, competent and polite assistant, Jay, who was also efficient and knowledgeable. They make a great team. Paul was extremely generous in his suggestions of different trades I need to complete my reno. His recommendations go a long way with me. I would definitely hire PTR again. The easiest decision I've made so far. Thanks for making this process a pleasurable and painless one!

Paul was excellent to work with. He responded to our request quickly was able to ballpark the job before we had our drawings finalized for him. Once we booked him he told us the days he would be on site, he was here at the time he specified on those days and once looking at the demo was able to help our designer modify our drawings to work with what was actually the situation once the walls were opened up. Paul was knowledgeable and efficient, and he finished the job ahead of schedule, so he did some extra repeair work that did show up when the walls were openened (that we were going to have to take care of ourselves) at no additional charge. we worked with a number of people on our reno project...Paul was reffered to us by a friend and we would easily recomend him to other friends with 100% confidence....I can't say that about to many people on that we worked with. Paul is professional and knowledgeable. He came on time and we discussed in details about the works. He is very nice and also gave me his advices. I will definitely to suggest him to all my friends. We will meet again next Jan for the project. Thank you, Paul.

The quote I got from Paul was the highest of the 4 but I was swayed by his knowledge, pleasant demeanor, and promptness. When the day came to do the job he had to delay due to another more pressing matter but he stayed with me and found a day shortly after that worked for us both. On the work day he was early and his staff were prompt. The extra that was paid for his services was made up in his creativity and problem solving skills. He even comes up with solutions before you articulate the problem. He also remedies issues you didn't know were issues until you see what he's done. Since I couldn't be at home, I also got play by plays on my cell and he made sure to ask questions rather than make assumptions about what I wanted. Paul is a consumate pro and a pleasure to work with.

I hired Paul to frame my basement and I must say that I am extremely happy with the results. Paul was very knowledgeable and his input provided valuable information that helped us to make better design decisions. He was always courteous, easy to talk to and overall the quality of his work was just excellent . I will gladly recommend Paul and look forward to working with him on future projects. When we first met Paul we knew immediately that we wanted him to work on our renovation projects. We were both very impressed with his honesty and integrity. Paul is very professional and meticulous in his work. We had several renovation projects, including placement of a structural beam and framing for the basement. Paul was always punctual and his estimated time frame for completion was always exactly on schedule. I would highly recommend Paul for any home renovations. Paul was outstanding. Happy and impressed. He started our renovation off on a really good foot. It is unbelievable the amount of work accomplished in just 3 days. He did all the structural joist work for a new stair opening [turned out to be bang-on when it came time for the finish work later], put down a new T&G sub-floor, went above and beyond by making suggestions to the drawings that improved the overall design and saved a bit on materials [which were later incorporated into sister the floor joist on the second floor], helped me level a couple of beams that were a bit out of whack. Everything was done to code [joist hangers, framing etc]. Passed inspection with flying colors. I have recommended him to my neighbors and wouldn't hesitate to hire him again.

Paul was a pleasure to work with. He responded and came as promised to provide a quote and ontime to start the work. So refreshing to work with a professional who is ontime and on budget. Great insight and ideas, very fast, very clean, very accommodating, and would definitely use again. Our basement job was big and he was quick.

Paul was very courteous and knowledgeable and a pleasure to deal with. He and his crew showed up on time and immediately got to work. We were amazed at how quickly they got the job done. They had the entire basement framed in 1-1/2 days. Not only was his pricing very competitive but the quality of work was excellent as well. It is rare to find a company that can boast both good pricing and quality. I would definitely recommend PTR Carpentry to anyone and will definitely ask them back for any other future projects.

First I will say that I did numerous renovations in the past and I’ve met many tradesmen, but Paul from PTR carpentry is in a league of its own. I found Paul on Homestars while looking for professionals to remove a load bearing wall and installing a steel post and beam according to a structural engineer design. Paul gave me an approximate quote over the phone because I did not have access to the property. The minute I got the key we met and he confirmed his initial quote. Immediately he made a great impression so I decided to use his services for sheathing the subfloor, shrinking the size of my kitchen window and removing a staircase leading to the basement and closing the floor. Paul estimated that the job will take 4 days to complete. While sheathing the floors we encountered many issues with leveling the plywood, but Paul did an amazing job and did whatever he could to level my floor. It worked out great. During day 3 I asked Paul to build a frame for a washroom, a closet, and a small wall in my main floor. Knowing Paul I knew he will charge me a reasonable price for the extra work I asked for. At the end of day 4, after the work was done, I asked Paul how much he wants for the extra work, his reply was $0!!!! He said that he finished the entire job within the 4 days that he planned so he won't charge me anything for the extra work, even though he had to buy more materials! I was blown away. Not to mention, he did a high-quality work, dealt with the city inspector, and left the place clean. On a personal note- thank you Paul for a great work, it was amazing watching you and the crew work, I have learned a lot.
