I was wanting to put a new floor down in my basement. I had a flood a year ago and even prior to this was nagged with a musty smell in the house. Before getting any work done, I wanted to find out what was causing the smell problem and to see what mold and air problems the house had. Tony was prompt in returning my call and set an appointment with me for the following week. He had said he would arrive between 9:30 - 10:00 am. he arrived on time and even called prior to say he was en route before arriving. Tony was extremely professional and pleasant. I thought he would check the couple of areas I was concerned with. Tony checked every area of my home, from the basement to the attic. He ran every water source checking for leaking, checked the grading outside, did moisture readings everywhere. He explained everything he was doing, showed me all areas of concern, put a plan together for me to follow in getting the problems fixed. The amount of attention to detail and the care he took explaining everything was above and beyond. He had informed me on the phone that the inspection would be $275 and that each air sample would be $125.00. Based on his inspection and the fact that all areas with mold and possible mold were going to be re-mediated, I elected to get air samples done after the re-mediation work. He did not try to over sell or use scare tactics to bump up the cost of the visit. I did ask a few times if I needed any other type of air samples done, i.e. formeldahyde, VOC, ... He said I did not and explained why. I am very glad I had Tony come and do the inspection. It was money very well spent. I now know what to do to make my home healthy for my son and I thanks to the explanations of the issues and plan Tony provided. I very highly recommend Inch by Inch Inspections.
