What we thought was a simple call to an insulation company to top up some cold spots in our attic, resulted in a recommendation to test the vermiculite found. Unfortunately, ours tested positive, and we needed to find an asbestos removal company now, to remove the vermiculite, existing insulation, and top it back up after the air quality tests come back clear of all remnants. We called 3 companies. Templar being one of them. Templar's quote was 8k; a second company with identical procedures was 10k; and the third company which said it was necessary to have 2-3 guys hand scoop the removal, pay for bag removal to a landfil far away, followed by the identical procedures used by the other 2 companies (vaccuuming out the remaining), came in at 20k. Glad we got multiple quotes, else we would have spent between $2000-$12000 more than we would have needed to. Our house is now asbestos free thanks to Templar. Great prompt service, at a reasonable price!

Dave from Templar came out to assess the situation in our basement prior to having it renovated. He helped to keep me at ease and reassured me that despite finding out we had asbestos in our house, it likely had not been disturbed and not to worry that our children could have been exposed. Dave also was thorough in his assessment and found that there were some asbestos wrapped around parts of the heating duct from removing ceiling tile and shone a flashlight to identify them. Templar crew came and were able to remove asbestos from every heat register and few identified exposed areas in basement. They finished in less than a day and left the place clean afterwards. Dave even allowed the air scrubber to continue blowing for 24 hrs after so that I could feel at ease that in case of any asbestos in the air would be removed. Will definitely recommend Templar.

Templar was very flexible with the timing. Appreciated that given timing was crucial. They test for asbestos before, during and after the work. I was left with a certificate that the basement was asbestos free, which I greatly appreciated (particularly as my bro died of asbestos inhalation). Great service and thanks.

We had just moved into an old home in Bloor West Village, and had concerns about asbestos and lead paint in several suspicious areas. I called several companies that were highly rated on homestars, but only two got back to me. The first one came out and without testing, declared that we had asbestos dust in our basement from the cement compound in the walls. Without offering to test it they gave us a quote saying it would require complete removal and/or lockdown. They said there was no point in doing a test before and after removal, and that I should just do one after the job for $250. Being a mother of two young children and slightly paranoid about these things, I was about to sign off on the quote when I received a call from David at Templar. Right away I could tell he was not only legit, but cared about his clients. He advised me not to freak out and that no one could tell me that dust contained asbestos without testing it for 100% certainty. He was at my house a couple days later and took 4 samples. He was just so genuine. His knowledge put me at ease and I felt confident leaving this huge concern in his hands. A week later all results came back negative!! To think I would've paid that other company to come in, remove and lock down "asbestos" and then pay an extra $250 for testing which would obviously come back negative since it was negative to begin with, is crazy! So so thankful that David called when he did. I have copies of all the test results and a certificate as well. I would HIGHLY recommend Templar to anyone. And I will!! A furnace company recommended Templar Mould/Asbestos Removal. They were clean, neat, efficient and very pleasant. They did everything they said they were going to do and the cost was fair. Overall a good job and I highly recommend them.
