I found Shane on Homestars, and decided to give him a try because of the positive reviews that so many had left. Having worked with him, I see why so many have responded in such a positive way. Shane is a true craftsman who really takes pride in his work. He is flexible, responsive and easy to work with. He built a custom storage unit for our breakfast nook that includes coat storage and shelving for shoes and books. We are thrilled with the outcome and I would highly recommend anyone looking for an excellent carpenter to use Shane.

We hired Shane to build a custom fireplace surround and he did an incredible job! He had great ideas, understood what I was looking for and provided detailed plans and drawings before getting started. The work was done earlier than expected, and the craftsmanship and install was of the highest quality. Shane has since helped us with several small renovations in our house - new lighting, new ceilings, trim work and paint... He has been so easy to work with and we love the work we've had done!

Hired Shane to build a basement kitchenette for a project. I gave him rough specs and a rough idea of what I wanted. He came out to site for final measurements, and gave great ideas to make the piece look and operate better. He was extremely thorough with the little details. They did not do the install, yet provided me with all necessary materials to make it fit perfect. My schedule was extremely tight and Shane squeezed me in, and even made an additional wall piece in the same time frame. Shane went above and beyond what was needed. I am looking forward to working with Clean Cut in the near future.

We hired Shane to design and build us a custom office and the process was pretty seamless. We did end up changing the design completely from the original suggestion that we got from Clean Cut. We live in an old house where things are no longer straight lines and it is also a small space (5x7). We ran into issues with the build and things had to be changed. Clean Cut did make the changes and things aren't exactly as they were on the drawing. We were on budget, but over the expected time to install; Shane had just relocated is business so it might be partly due to this. I found Shane to be prompt and helpful and willing to do anything to make sure that we were satisfied. We requested touch up paint and Shane made sure that we got some. I would consider using them again.

We found Clean Cut on this site and hired them to do some wood paneling in the stairs. Great customer service and excellent finished product….not to mention reasonably priced. We were so impressed by their work that we hired them to design and build a custom headboard and side tables and also a media unit. The design process was great with 3D renderings to help picture the finished product. The process was also very collaborative. In the end the finished product was fantastic. If the need arises we’ll use them again.

2 years ago, we hired Shane for a smaller project of building a floating bench for the front entry and a custom mirror for the powder room. He did a great job. This year we finally got to properly furnish our living room. We had a 17-feet wide bare wall needing of some wall system that can house the TV and components as well as adding some interest to the room. We could not think of a better carpenter to commission for this job. After discussing the design with Shane, he made some suggestions to make the design fit both our needs and budget. He presented us with a professional drawing detailing the precise measurements and 3d illustration of the finished product. Yesterday our wall system was installed and I have to say it looks fantastic. Excellent craftsmanship, attention to detail , customer-satisfaction orientation, are only a few reasons why you should hire him in your next projects.

The backyard deck renewal was supposed to be a simple renewal of an old deck. The more Shane’s crew got into it,the more we found that the old thing would have to be totally rebuilt. I am glad this happened, as it gave us an opportunity to modestly re-designed the old deck and make positive improvements to it. The Composite decking material we decided on is awesome and the underside of the covered part of the deck was redone in tongue and groove knotty pine and later stained in California cedar which made a tremendous accent. The deck looked so good when we finished, we decided the backyard did not deserve it,so we got in a landscaper and who designed and built new stone gardens and a waterfall pond and all new sod. The yard is brand new and looks terrific.His crew was timely, polite and cleaned up every day

Shane made and installed a very large custom unit in my office . It is exactly as I envisioned it. His craftsmanship is second to none and delivered on time as promised. You get more than you pay for with Clean Cut. I will definitely recommend Clean Cut to anyone in the future. I have already ordered two more custom pieces. Thanks again Shane

Shane was extremely professional and responsive from when we first met him. He: - Came over to see the place, and gave helpful suggestions on how we could design it - Gave a competitive quote. Changes were clearly discussed and agreed upon - Developed a great design, taking into account our unique needs (size of space, utility, etc) - Reacted immediately to a delay, bringing in extra people and working additional hours to ensure that the work was done on a timely basis - Did a great job At first blush Shane's quote seemed more expensive than others. However, upon closer inspection, we discovered that he'd provided transparency into several components of cost (design, handles, lighting, etc) which others had not. (For example, his design fee is set off against the cost of the completed project). Once these were taken into account, his quote was very competitive. We were very pleased with Shane's work, and wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone looking for a talented, detail oriented, hard working contractor to do a custom project.
