    Fantastic job in restoring a dining table

    TMC Restoration did a fantastic job in restoring an old dining table for us. This dining table was gifted to us by a friend almost 30 years ago when they had to leave the country. We used it for a couple of years and then had to put it in storage as we too were leaving the country to work in Asia. When we returned almost five years ago the table was put in use again, but because of its dark colour and having dents and cracks here and there, I was thinking of getting rid of it. But my husband always had a love for it and wanted to have it restored. We found TMC Restoration at their booth at the Stouffville Home Show. Robert, TMC's representative came to our house to inspect the table, and convinced us that it was made of high quality solid wood and definitely worthwhile to have it restored. Robert explained their meticulous restoration process in great detail, how TMC's workmanship and services stand out from other companies, so we decided to give the table a new life. Tino, who is responsible for customer service was a delight to work with. He was very efficient in handling the logistics after the table was picked up. He opened our eyes to the true beauty of the table - its natural wood colour which is much lighter, and the grain which was never visible before due to the dark painted colour. What's more, Tino and his colleague Guy gave us valuable information on the type of wood that our dining table was made of, the characteristics of the wood, and its design style. It is reassuring that such information came from the TMC Restoration expert team. The delivery team was also very helpful in the pick up, delivery as well as disassemble and reassemble of the table. We are very very happy with the work that TMC Restoration has done. The dining table is now a centre piece in our dining room, and will definitely stay with us for many more years to come.

    Dining room table and chairs and also kitchen chairs were refinished and chair seats reupholstered.

    Everything was excellently done and I am very satisfied with the workmanship as well as with all who were involved.

    Sectional Reupholstery

    We recently had a 5-piece sectional with massage reupholstered by TMC. The final result turned out fine but the steps to get there were very disappointing and unacceptable - A 2-3 month job turned into 5 months - A broken recliner pull handle which was pointed out in the original contract was not fixed when the piece was originally returned and it turned out that the part hadn’t even been ordered yet 2 weeks AFTER the section had been returned to TMC - The corner section with the massage unit was delivered with the wires hidden so it was returned to TMC. A couple of weeks later the section was re-delivered with the assurance that the wires were exposed but, again, they were still hidden - There was no proactive communication from TMC. We had to constantly chase them down to get updates on the job

    TMC enthusiastically disagrees with the characterization of this review. As the customer mentioned, the result turned out just fine. The customer describes a project that required two service attempts. We acknowledge these services did occur, and on both occasions, TMC promptly responded to the customer's calls, collected the furniture and rectified the issues. We are not perfect and do not claim to be, but we pride ourselves on our commitment to servicing all of our valued customers. In addition to the quick resolution, we wrote this customer a contrite apology for the delay. In our humble opinion, a firm that responds promptly to requests for service is... a good company?  We have been in the furniture restoration business for 30 years. Sadly, most firms will not service or honour the same request this customer had. We did.  We hope prospective customer's read this 2-star review and notice the effort to satisfy this customer. In our opinion, this 2-star review reads more like a strong 7 to light 8.

    Refurbished furniture

    Québec Maple rocker and ottoman, circa 1970s, family heirloom. Restained and updated fabric. High quality work. The in-home consultation was great. Work is guaranteed.

    Furniture refinishing

    Attention to detail and customer service was excellent! They made sure we were aware of the process, certain of the stain finish, and went above and beyond with every step.

    Antique Furniture Restoration

    I have a dining room table, buffet, china cabinet & bookcase that I inherited from my Grandmother 35 years ago. The furniture is over 100 years old, still sturdy, but needed refinishing....something I've always thought of doing. I am so glad that I chose TMC Restoration to handle this job. My furniture looks brand new & the fabric covering on my dining room chairs is amazing! I love, love, love the way everything turned out!! Thanks TMC!

    Dining room set

    Restoring the furniture was well done. However, quality control to ensure that everything has been looked at is done according to client requests prior to delivery should be ensured ie. Glass doors appropriately cut, all pieces returned at the same time

    Recover and improve the quality of an old classic rocking chair of the

    Recovered an old >300 yr old mahogany rocker with hand made hand tied springs Great work but disappointing the company doesn’t give you best and worst case scenario when estimating and contracting with the client!

    Table and chair restoration

    I recently had two items restored by TMC: a table with great sentimental value that was in three pieces, and a chair rescued from the trash. The results were well beyond my expectations. If you want a restoration that will last a life time, I highly recommend TMC. Their work is worth every penny.

    Repair and stain a mirror to match the dresser it sits on.

    TMC did an excellent job of repairing the mirror and and matching the stain of the dresser. It looks really good and we are very happy with the result. Thank you so much!
