I backed up my car into my garage door last week. I called Morningstar based on homestars review. Danny was so busy that he refered any other company to me. Since it was Sat night, I accepted it. At the end, the guy repaired the door for me in less than an hour, but I was charged for $400 for labour only. I posted a review on Homestars later to reflect my experience with this guy. Danny contacted me in few days, and sincerely appologized for me being overcharged. He came to my house for re-inspection of my garage door. At the end, he refunded me $200 for my overpay. I think Danny is responsible and sincere during my whole conversation with him. He really want to make an effort to make up for my negative experience I had with my previous guy.

had an old wooden garage door that was installed by the builder. Wanted something with more class and insulation value., also provind a great seal around the door frame. Hired Morning Star because they provide Excellent service by Danny and his crew they came in replaced the door with no problems. highly recommended guys. Looking forward to working with them again in the future.

Danny came by when promised, provided a competitive quote and got the job done in great time. We had questions regarding ceiling on heights and other issues during our garage reno which he answered for us during his quote visit. Other companies complained about our ceiling height (a bit too low) and told us they could not make the door work but Danny had no issues and the door works great!

Before Morningstar came to fix my old manual roll-up garage door, the door was very loud and difficult to open/shut, the tracks were bent out of shape, the rollers were falling off, and the lock rarely engaged. Subsequently, one hard push and the spool of cable fell out along with snapped cable - so the door stopped working altogether. Danny came to fix it next day, and within 45 minutes he replaced the track and the cable, adjusted the rollers and lock, and oiled up everything. I can now literally slide up my garage door with 1 finger. Danny is very skilled, knowledgeable, and makes it his responsibility to leave you with a door that functions the best it could. Highly recommended! We will be calling him when we install the automatic opener.

We live in a 60 year old house with the original manual garage door pulley system. The other day one of the wires came off one of the pulleys, I called Morningstar and Danny came out the next day. Of course, I expected I would be told the system is too old, can't get parts and I would have to invest In a new door. None of that happened, Danny repaired the door and it works perfectly. Will most definitely use his company when the time comes to replace this door.

My old garage door was in dire need of repair: rollers wouldn't stay in their tracks and worn pulleys made it almost impossible to open. I was in touch with Danny of Morningstar and he visited me a day later. Even after the appointment was made, he graciously accommodated my chaotic and fluctuating schedule. Danny is a man of integrity and a straight talker. I was worried he would try to tell me that I needed an expensive new door, but he quickly assessed the situation and assured me that all I needed was a few new parts and some maintenance. In less than 30 minutes, the repair was complete and my garage door slides open beautifully. Danny is also a philosophical man with a wry sense of humour, and I enjoyed discussing the roles of form and function in our domestic lives. I absolutely recommend Danny Mendel and Morningstar for your garage door needs. I hope I don't need another repair, but he is the first person I would call.

Called Morningstar for a quote over the phone. I described the challenges that the installation would have. There is very little clearance for the garage door mechanism. I was told over the phone that it would probably not be a problem to install. Danny installed the unit the next day. The installation was exactly as described when I was getting the quote on the phone. The price was exactly what I was quoted. Morningstar did exactly what they said that they were going to do, on time, on budget, and the job is done properly. It is also noteworthy that Another company told me that it was going to cost nearly $400.00 more and that they would need to install Low headroom tracks. Danny was able to do it without!! He saved me money and headache. I would recommend Morningstar without hesitation.

One day while backing my car out of my garage, I failed to realize that the garage door was not fully open and backed into the lower panel of the door (silly me). Thankfully, I was able to call Morningstar and they repaired the problem and did it well, and now the garage door works like new! Thanks!

My initial impression of this company was that it was very good. They came out to give me the quote and spent time explaining what needed to be done. Also they showed up on time. When they finished the job, they called to let me know that the garage still wasn't working properly and that it would cost me another $300 to buy a new motor. Leo (the rep) advised that he would look for a less expensive solution and get back to me. The problem is that he never got back to me, nor did he mail me my receipt or warranty which he had promised. I now feel like they took the money and ran. My door works 90% of the time and there was no follow-up. A great start, but a bad finish.
