    New chimney

    Tony and his crew were excellent and I'd definitely recommend Tony. We'd had a leak in the bathroom that had been misdiagnosed 3 times by contractors/roofers and we'd paid unnecessary money to fix things that weren't broken. Then when it was diagnosed as coming from the chimney the first chimney company I hired did a poor job. I then hired this company on the basis of the homestars reviews and we've been very happy. I've actually waited half a year since the work to write this review as in the past water problems have showed up after the initial work. Tony tore down the entire chimney to the roofline and then built up a new chimney and the work was excellent. I'm happy to say we've had no leaks/issues since. He had to put up scaffolding to get to the roof and even that was done with a great deal of care not to ruin plants/trees in the front.

    Thanks Ravi, I am glad there have been no issues with the chimney since, we always advise the homeowner on the proper road to take not just the easy road, this was a tricky set up for the scaffold but in order to do the job correctly and safely we had to do it, Making a quick dollar at some ones expense is not what we are about at STRAIGHT UP MASONRY.     As a general contractor I have hired Tony on many occasions. Whether it has been a block foundation, or replacing a few bricks, Tony always completes his work with the attention to detail you would expect from a professional. I consider myself very lucky to have the support of such a talented trade. I look forward to working with Tony for many years to come.

    Replacement of 2 Window Stills

    My wife and I are very pleased with our new window stills that Tony replaced this fall. The cost was reasonable, excellent clean-up and the work was done ahead of time. Thanks.

    Window sill and lintel replacement, repair parging to side of house

    Tony was professional and very easy to work with right from our first contact with Straight Up Masonry. We needed to replace window sills and lintels on 7 Windows. Of the 3 quotes we received, Straight Up Masonry's was by far the most comprehensive and focused only on the work we needed to do. The price was resonable compared to other companies. Tony was very patient and provided us with details of the work involved as we were quite anxious about the possibility of structural damage to our home. All the work was completed on time and within Tony's quoted estimate. We have already recommended Straight Up Masonry and will continue to do so.

    Rebuild of chimney and front steps

    Last year (sorry for the delay), Tony and Straight Up Masonry rebuilt our chimney and the our front steps. Tony responded very quickly to our initial request for a quotation. Of the three contractors who provided an estimate, he was the the only one who actually went up onto our roof to look at the chimney. He took digital photos of the chimney, and then showed us what needed to be done based on these photos. Once we agreed to proceed, Tony was prompt in beginning the work. The work was completed quickly. Tony was very pleasant to deal with. We were very pleased with the quality and look of the finished work. After the work was finished, we noticed one small chink in the mortar in one location. We contacted Tony about this, and he came over the next day to fill the chink in. We were impressed by his quick response to this issue. We would be very happy to recommend Tony and Straight Up Masonry.

    Chimney Rebuild

    Right from the estimate Straight Up Masonry was great to deal with. They responded to my message quickly, stopped by as soon as they could for an estimate and I was scheduled for the chimney rebuild asap. Tony was friendly to deal with and he and his staff did a great job on our chimney. We were initially going to replace the top few rows of bricks only, but after removing those we found more rotten bricks and ended going down to the roofline for the full rebuild. Tony was great at explaining what the issues were and they were flexible to work an extra day to accommodate the change. They were efficient and left no mess. After reading reviews on Homestars we chose Straight Up Masonry and I'm glad we did. The job was great and the price was well worth it. We'll definitely be using them in the future.

    Rebuilding the chimney

    My estimate was prompt and included a photo of the work needing to be done. Tony arrived exactly when he said he would, he and his team were pleasant and thoughtful and the worksite was completely cleaned up afterward. I would recommend this company without hesitation.

    Rebuild Chimney and fix side patrio

    Tony and the work team paired aesthetics with technical expertise when rebuilding our chimney. They removed the stone that had rust marks on them and were able to cut and re-position the remaining stone. This was important given that the chimney is at the front of the house and quite prominent. They took great care in preparing and cleaning up the site. They were organized and open to questions (especially Crystal) and I had confidence in their capacity to do a good job... and they did!

    Stone Front Porch

    Tony and the Straight Up Masonry crew is professional and reliable contractor. I recently sub-contracted them to take care of the footings, block laying, stone facing and concrete finishing of a front porch I was building as part of a larger landscaping project. They showed up on time, executed a high quality of workmanship and kept to the budget. Would totally recommend them and continue to use them as my masonry contractor. Keep up the great work guys!
