    Annual furnace service

    I am a long standing customer and find Boonstras service technicians to be knowledgeable and polite. Luis is my 'go to' technician and I could not ask for better service. Many thanks. $175 is my annual maintenance fee. Well worth it for the peace of mind and this annual fee covers most charges that may arise throughout the year.

    Furnace tune up

    We would like to give Adrian a glowing review on the maintenance work he did on our furnace. It was a tune up and he was the first technician in 12 years that checked and cleaned the condensate pump. It was disgustingly dirty and it was surprising it even worked at all. He was on time, friendly and very thorough. Highly recommended.

    Water Heater, Furnace and A/C Maintenance

    We have been with Boonstra's Heating & Air Conditioning for over 15 years and have always found their service and prices excellent. We started with an air conditioner and a new furnace in our house and when we moved to a condo we continued with a service contract for the furnace and a/c. Recently we purchased a water heated through Boonstra and they looked after everything, including contacting Reliance Heating & A/C. The service technicians have always been on time for their appointments and were smartly dressed and friendly. Oh yes, they do not try to sell my services and repairs that we do not need. We will continue to recommend Boonstra to our friend and neighbours. Recently, the shut off tap on the water inlet to our new water heater was leaking out of the valve stem. Adrian came the next day and replaced to tap within 10 minutes. Well done.

    furnace tune up

    Dave Schetsman, service technician, good work, prompt, on time, clearly a people person, outstanding effort to have the consumer fully comprehend the service, and the services offered. Made helpful and additional efforts to explain where improvements could be performed, such as hot water heater ownership, and installation of air conditioning. There was an issue with moisture on the floor, by appearance seemed to be coming from the furnace of hot water heater area. We both suspected this was coming from a leaking hot water heater. However, once the humidifier on the furnace was serviced, the moisture has completely dried up, which would indicate that there was some kind of overflow from the humidifier. Could you please inform Dave of this.

    Installation of Furnace, AC

    When I started this, our house was an electrically heated home without any duct work. I contacted five different Heating and Cooling companies for information and quotes, and the only one that came to the house was Boonstra. Our salesrep Chris was fantastic right from the start, even our three year old daughter liked him. He produced a quote that was in the range that we felt was fair, and within a week the crew was in the house starting the installation. The two member crew was able to turn our four level side-split into a comfortable work of art from start to finish in four days, with no disruption. My favourite part was how they worked with my wife and I on the best route for the ducts to eliminate a maze of bulk heads. In a normal summer, we would install four window AC units to cool the bedrooms and livingroom/kitchen. This summer, in a year over year comparison, we have saved 30% off our hydro bill. I'm pleased with just that alone, but I am just imagining the drop over the winter. Boonstra did a great job getting it installed, and even helped us balance the air throughout the house later on and has continued to help with all our followup questions and inquiries.

    a/c repair, uv bulb replacement

    Our technician was Steve. He explained everything clearly and offered options for improving our air purifying system. No pressure tactics, just honest advice. He came back a week later to do the work right on time. He was very courteous and professional. A job well done :)

    BBQ Gas Line

    I called Boonstra to install our new gas line for our BBQ. They were prompt and arrived on time. Chad, the installers, was polite and courteous. He did a great job and I would strongly recommend Boonstra. We will be replacing our old furnace and air conditioner with them.

    AIr Conditioning "Service"

    Our ductless system was installed by Boonstra in 2002. We called for service when one of the units stopped working. We did not receive a call back to our initial call. We called a second time one week later. We arranged an appointment and a technician (Marco) attended and charged us $149 for a service call. He then advised us that our system was obsolete but he would attempt to find us replacement parts. A week passed and our subsequent calls were not returned. Finally we escalated the call to the manager who returned our call a couple of days later. I explained that we felt duped that they knew the system was not servicable and yet charged us for a service call anyway. After our last discussion some ten days ago the manager left us with the impression that he would still attempt to help us, but we have heard nothing and do not expect to. Very disappointing and terrible customer service. Obviously we are going to have to buy a new system and clearly it is not going to be from Boonstra.

    repair on humidifier and air conditioner

    When we originally called Boonstra because our air conditioner stopped working Steven was the technician. He was courteous, informative and efficient. Unfortunately there was a problem with the installation of the humidifier on the furnace and Steven was the technician assigned to do the repair. Once again he was very helpful. I mentioned that the air conditioner was loud and he returned the following day with a cover free of charge. We were disappointed with the 24-hour emergency service that is advertised. When the humidifier burst and was leaking water at 8 am there was no response from any of the three numbers we called. When we finally reached a live person and were not cut off the line it was a rude encounter. When my husband relayed his frustration, the response was "Well you reached somebody now." Her response was unapologetic, unprofessional and rude. We were not impressed with her attitude. Cory was very friendly and thorough with his quote. He was easy to work with and very knowledgeable. The installation of our furnace and air conditioner by Chad and Dave went fairly smoothly although coincidentally on the same day our telephone lines went down. Drilling to the outside was done in the same area as the telephone lines so we needed to get that looked at. Other than the air conditioner still running a little loud for me we are happy with the new system. For the most part we experienced helpful and courteous service.
