Peter came over within a few hours to take a look and plan a solution, plumbers came back the next day to complete the work, offered some extra services (drain camera, problem solving), completed the paperwork for city subsidy program for reimbursement. Quick and efficient. They were helpful and polite (referred by a neighbour).

Called Plumbers Direct to repair a leaking toilet tank and to replace a hard-to-turn water shut-off valve. By the time I was contacted, I had already purchased the replacement part, but agreed to a charge of $198 + HST for installation and valve replacement. Staff were courteous and performed the work (with an additional $20 for flexible supply tubing). Upon completion the toilet started leaking on the other side from the tank-to-seat bolt. Rather than undertake the repair, (which I later performed by installing a 90 cent washer, Peter tried to talk me into a $1000 2 piece toilet replacement, Very irresponsible to leave me with a leaking toilet, and unprofessional, not to confirm the actual problem

I have used Plumbers Direct before and have always been impressed with their service and quality of work. This time, I just returned home from a week-long vacation to discover that our pipes had frozen in the lovely -20C weather we've been having. I left a message for Plumbers Direct and Peter called me back within an hour. Although he wouldn't be able to get to my house for 3-4 days due to dozens of others with similar or worse issues, he still took the time to walk me through what I could do on my own to solve the problem. I followed his advice and about 4 hours later, the pipe thawed. I thought this was a great example of going above and beyond to help someone out.

Peter and his team did an excellent job. Everything from the quote to the work was explained. No surprises. And everything was clean and tidy when they left. I would recommend Peter and his team. In fact, I am having them come back to do more work for me.

We have been "one of those" home owners with no much luck with our contractor... We started our 2 story renovation back in August of 2012. Since then, our basement got flooded twice (that horrible June of 2013 and, recently, last October 2014). After the first flooding, we were told that our sump pump was not properly connected to the outside (during the winter, due to the way the piping was built, the water was getting frozen inside the pipe rendering our sump pump totally "useless"). We tried to get this issue tackled in timely manner; however, due to legal issues with our previous contractor, we didn't get to it "on time". The end result was that our basement got flooded with almost half a meter of water... I looked in Homestars for plumbers with good references and I liked what I read about "Plumbers Direct". We called them and Peter and his co-worker (sorry but I don't remember his name) arrived home, gave us a quote, I called my husband, we talked, soon after my husband phoned Peter and closed the deal. They arrived the following morning, connected properly our sump pump to the outside of the house for which they had to dig a trench in our back yard so that they could create proper drainage and, since they were with their hands on the job, they also connected one of the down spouts to the underground - we were very happy about this too! Since then, the basement is "once again" renovated and we have not had any problems; however, since now we are frantic every time there is heavy rain, one day, after going through a night of heavy rain and not having "heard" the sump pump "at all"...both my husband and I were concerned that something was "wrong" with it! My husband called Peter on the following day - a Sunday - and asked Peter to please come by our home and take a look...We needed reassurance that "all" was Ok and Peter came by and, after double checking that all was functioning properly, he left our house without charging us any fee for the service; however, leaving behind happy customers. To the above, I have to add that, right after Plumbers Direct tackled our sump pump we requested from them to take a look to our ensuite's shower combo which, lately, was doing crazy things...Peter and his co-worker came twice to the house since the problem seemed to be a bit difficult to deal with; they ordered the necessary parts from the manufacturer and, unfortunately, after many hours spent trying to find what was wrong with the shower, they couldn't find the solution to the problem and, after letting us know about their findings, suggested that we should contact some other plumber since they couldn't fix the problem. Plumbers Direct not only didn't charge us for their services but also they provided us with written instructions for whichever other plumber we would contact so that they would have idea of what was going on with this thing... If the above does not show that Plumbers Direct does have excellent professional ethic, I don't know what does... We truly appreciate their service and knowledge and we, definitively, would recommend them any time.. Teresa and Dallas

We ordered installation of a sump pump and a backwater valve. For the valve they had to break the concrete laundry room floor to locate the discharge sewage pipe - they dug a hole 2ft by 4ft, 2 ft deep but still no pipe (evidently the pipe was running under the foundation). Think of the mess in the laundry room! Well, they filled the hole back and cemented the floor, but did not charge us anything since they said it was their fault (not to find the pipe) !! And when they finally left the laundry room - it was cleaner than before. These people are highly professional, honest, pleasant, reliable, clean, considerate, and do the job effectively with outstanding workmanship. What else could you wish for?

After last year's major storm in July, we needed to put in a new sump pump with a battery back-up. We also decided to install backwater valves for further protection. Peter and his crew did a great job! Peter is a true professional - explains everything well, is organized, timely, and delivers good customer service, taking care of the necessary permits and inspections and completing the rebate forms for us. His workers, especially Tenzin were also excellent - hard working, thoughtful, cleaned up everything so well outside that we did not even know they were there and watered our plants that had to be dug up due to the work outside. Thanks for the great and most efficient work! We will be sure to use them again and refer to our family and friends.

Due to a flood in July 2014, we had to have a backwater valve and/or sump pump installed to continue to be insured. We called Plumbers Direct and Peter was quick to respond to our call and to obtain the necessary permits and inspections. His crew was hard working, knowledgeable and efficient. They were very, very respectful of our property. They covered the floors inside and were careful not to dig up our garden with the back-hoe. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Peter and his crew to anyone!

Peter re-arranged his schedule to accommodate ours and fix our uniquely constructed leaky bathroom sink the day we called. He was courteous, friendly and very knowledgeable. Maybe we'll never have need for a plumber again, but more than likely, we'll be calling Plumbers Direct.

We are glad we used the services of Plumbers Direct recently. Our main drain was blocked with sewage pouring into the basement. Paul and his crew were there within the hour and contained the situation and wet vacuumed the spilled debris. They snaked and put a camera down the floor drain and confirmed that there were no other problems in the line for us to be concerned about. This was done promptly and in a very cost effective way. Since it was after midnight I thought the charges might have been accelerated but they stuck to their flat rate pricing. Thank you for that. We were then informed about the city rebate program for the install of sewage prevention valves to protect our home from city flooding. The permits, inspections and timeliness of the procedure was marvellous. Again thank you. We will use your services in the future and will certainly pass your card to our friends. Helana
