Absolutely thrilled with our "new" winterized back room and siding repair. I knew I was going to hire Bill Fairney even before having the quote based on his recommendations for insulation. Super impressed with the workmanship of Nash & crew. They went above & beyond taking care of finishes I would have thought were upgrades. Fairney & Sons did my roof nearly a decade ago. Today they came back at my request within hours to do an inspection. They completed the inspection, did some nailing and caulking on a few lifted shingles, talked to me about my roof and attic. Two guys spent a half hour at my house working and consulting and when it was done there was no charge. I’ve run service businesses and never expect free work from others, no matter how small a job. So when Bill decides to do free work for me, a guy who hasn’t been a customer in years, it says a lot about the pride his team takes in doing good work and maintaining that quality, even as weather batters their handiwork. No one at Fairney & Sons asked me to write them an online review. I’m doing this because I want others to know what a pleasure working with them has always been. Today was just another example.

Fairney And Sons Home Improvements Ltd. I had the good fortune to be introduced to Bill Fairney by family and friends. What started as a straightforward fence and patio stone renovation in my back garden soon turned into the proverbial - “I didn’t see that coming” project. What lurks beneath is the unknown factor and most renovations have their share of surprises. Mine was no exception, as we found unexpected problems at my property. Throughout it all, Bill and his crew of merry tradesmen and women were the consummate professionals, calming my worries and making many excellent suggestions that contributed to an outcome that was beyond my initial expectations. My typical early morning comment - “I have a question” - was always met with good humour and never went unanswered! The crew who worked on my project - overseen every day by Bill - was friendly, hard working, professional, polite, on time, tolerant of my last minute changes, and willing to go the extra mile to be sure that I was happy with the outcome. I have worked as a Toronto real estate agent for 31 years and have seen the nightmares that can happen when clients do not choose their contractors with care. Such is not the case with Fairney And Sons and without hesitation or qualification, I am happy to recommend Bill to anyone looking for a hands-on, honest, ethical, and reliable contractor!

I called in asking for a quote and Bill able to come by and take a look within the hour. He gave a few recommendations on the spot and provided a quote for the job if the recommendations didn't quite work. I contacted a few other local experts and it took weeks just to get a response. Very happy with this company thus far!

Bill and his team of professionals did an excellent job in redoing the side exterior wall of my house and made it look brand new. They identified the reason why water was leaking into the basement and rebuilt and cemented around the window. Tuck point work to all the brick and thoro coat of the exterior wall. His team are professionals and very accommodating. I look forward to having Bill and his team back next summer for more work.

Bill and his team just completed a total exterior makeover of my semi-detached laneway coach house, including new shingled and flat roofs, two new skylights and, most exciting to me, exterior insulation and new siding. They accommodated all of my unusual requests without hesitation: 1. They stripped the exterior walls down to the studs and built back with Roxul's Rockwool Comfortbatt insulation. While most contractors with whom I spoke didn't want to bother with this new and more sustainable alternative to foam, Bill and his team didn't blink. They did their research and figured out how to install it. 2. Hector, the roofer, and his son did the slow and painstaking work of screwing, old-school, the slate I bought piece by heavy piece onto the front. 3. Nash and his two sons wrapped the side, back and dormer with corrugated galvalume, a zinc and aluminum coated steel that I specified. They even agreed and took the time to execute a corner detail that I requested. Bonus: they tinkered with and fixed my leaky front door that was letting in light and air. I have received many compliments from neighbours regarding both the workmanship and the care the crew took each day to sweep up and keep the area clean. Remarkably, considering all that could have gone wrong, they finished the job on time--just under three weeks from start to finish--and on budget. It was a pleasure working with this skilled, caring and honest group of fathers and sons. Thanks to them, I am now living in my dream home, inside and finally now out.

When I was having a difficult time choosing my siding, Bill said, "Let's go!" I just did a house a few blocks over in this colour of Hardy Board. We'll get in my truck, drive over and take a look!" Not on was this beyond the call of duty, the couple whose home we unexpectedly dropped in on were so happy to see him. THAT'S a good sign. And what's more, Bill doesn't just remember his client's names, he remembers their children's names too!.So - wonderful customer service, a quote provided and work done in a timely fashion and quality workmanship. He also recommended a terrific painter for the exterior of our house.

Our neighbour and daughter had used Bill and his company for work and both were very happy with the company. Based on this we gave Bill a call. He gave us a reasonable quote and we signed with him. His crew for the siding (eaves, soffit and faccia) was hard working and took pride in their work. His team for cement work was great too. We would recommend Bill and his company to anyone who wants some quality work done.

Our bedroom ceiling started to drip during excessive rain, so we knew our flat roof needed attention ASAP. After a number of co's came by for an estimate, we felt most comfortable and confident using Fairney & Sons. Bill & his team took the time to properly assess the situation, and did a fantastic job. Pictures were provided daily regarding their progress, and everything was explained clearly, regarding the materials they used, and the entire process of building a new flat roof. Bill’s crews did a fantastic job on our house this year. First they did the exterior insulation and vinyl siding, including taking apart an old deck and extension. They were quick and professional, and we’re great at checking in to make sure we were happy with with everything. Then they rebuilt the deck: the new one is outstanding - it’s rock solid and looks great; it’s like having an extra room in our house. The big project was redoing our basement, from stripping out the old finish, ripping up and replacing the concrete floor, waterproofing the basement walls, insulating and refinishing everything and building a new bathroom. Bill’s team did an amazing job - they really knew what they were doing, and everything was done to a high standard. We’re thrilled to have a new fantastic living space in our home.
