We worked with Bill Fairney and his team to underpin and finish our basement. We couldn't be happier. Both the underpinning and finishing teams were great to work with and were very respectful of our family and home. The work site was always left clean. Communication was great regarding progress and what materials we needed to shop for. The finishing team was very helpful with designing the layout of our basement and finding ways to incorporate storage to meet our needs. We are so happy with our renovation and look forward to working with them for future renovations we have planned.

We are extremely happy with the work Bill and his team did on what was a particularly challenging job. The quality of the work done was outstanding and they were even able to restore some original brickwork. Everyone was very professional, on-time, cleaned up every day. They exceeded our expectations and we would definitely use them again.

Bill Fairney and his team are the BEST! The basement flooded and major work was required. Replaced old concrete floor, did interior weeping tiles and submersible sump pump. The care, time and workmanship was outstanding! Bill was always there to oversee the project and reachable by phone to answer any questions. They also repaired things that were unforeseen. They turned a stressful situation into exciting ideas as what the space can become & increased the value of the property. A relationship for life and would highly recommend Fairney & Sons to anyone!

Bill and his crew were excellent to work with. I have used his services for my new roof, some cement repair and parging, and for building a small deck. I am very pleased with the results. The work was completed quickly, as per schedule, top quality workmanship. All my projects were relatively small, but he treated them with the importance and respect that I wanted. Turns out Bill is just simply a nice guy to work with, I would definitely use his company again.

Bill came highly recommended from our neighbours when we moved into the neighbourhood and had even done a lot of work on our house, which was great. He knew more of the history than we did. Bill helped us through water problems in our basement throughout 2016 and 2017, even doing the waterproofing on part of our house in the middle of February. He recently completed work on the front of our house to replace windows with excellent results. He's been responsive to our needs for help since day 1 and done some awesome work.

Bill responded quickly to my call regarding new siding and other repairs. He gave me excellent advice and suggestions; he really knows his stuff. He and his team showed up when he said they would and everyone worked diligently. The job was done when he said it would be and the site was left in clean condition. By the time Bill came to see us we had gotten a variety of quotes and advice. I was so impressed because not only did he come up with the best solution but also the best price. You can tell right away customer service means something to him. Which in the contracting world is so rare these days. Job was completed as promised on time and work site left spotless. His workers where amazing and true gentlemen. Our family was going through a hard time and they worked with us with such kindness. I will use Fairney and Sons in the future for other projects without hesitation. I will also recommend to all my friends and family.

Shortly after we moved into our charming 1920’s house in East Toronto, we found ourselves with a wet basement extension. We called Fairney & Sons (on the recommendation of a coworker) along with a few other contractors. Bill was the first one to respond and came by that same day to take a look. His quick reply, reasonable quote and solid knowledge of the issues made it an easy decision - and we’ve never looked back. Since that first project, we have counted on Bill and his team for many others, including: exterior insulation and siding, roofing, fence and deck building, retaining wall, kitchen installation, and window and exterior door replacements. In all cases, Bill’s crew is talented, hardworking, respectful, and friendly. The work is done properly, to code, and the price is extremely fair considering the high level of quality and detailed finishes. We have come to trust and rely on Bill’s opinion and advice. He has been a valuable resource for ideas on our projects and has routinely gone above and beyond to help us when we’ve encountered some unwelcome surprises with our old house. We never hesitate to recommend Bill to our friends and neighbours and are thankful to have a contractor we can count on.

The story is a long one, but I will try to condense. My experience is worth the read. In short, I initially hired Bill as he came recommended through a local Architect in the beach. He completed an interior waterproofing project for a mutual client (i'm a RE Broker) who purchased the home. The client was happy with his work. Through my business I happen to know several trades including a GC I had previously worked with. But on recommendation I called Bill Fairney. He arrived the day I called him in person, provided a detailed quote, assessed the property, and answered all our questions with accuracy and experience. I was so impressed with our initial meeting, we hired Bill immediately. To say his team worked hard is an understatement. Anthony and Matt were on time, worked diligently through all weather conditions, cleaned up after themselves, and were polite and respectful, (despite the continued lack of cooperation and interference from my neighbours). Bill continuously visited us and the project to inspect the work and ensure all was done up to his standard. In the end - my neighbours hired Bill as well ! The turning point in it all and what solidified my future working relationship with Bill, including no hesitation to refer him clients and friends, is Bill assisted with a very complicated encroachment issue and neighbourly dispute. A situation in which most contractors opted to run from. Bill's quote was most reasonable, he completed the job with efficiency and accuracy, provided photos, and helped bring a large amount of stress relief to our family of 5. This was the turning point. As the financial gain was minimal for Bill, but he extended his time and experience to help my family and children. It showed me his level of compassion and willingness to assist with the intrinsic motivation to simply want to help. There are so few that would have done what he did. We are grateful. We have no hesitation in recommending Bill Fairney both for his quality of work and as a standup person.
