It was a pleasure working with this company, from the contractor to the workers who fixed my roof. I would recommend them to anyone as they were curtious, did the job in a timely manner, provided a great quote, and kept me up to date throughout the job by taking the time to explain everything and back it up with lots of photos. The protection of my yard and the neighbors as well as the clean up afterwards was immaculate. I will definately hire them again for future jobs.

During a renovation our upstairs bathroom began to leak down into the ceiling area above the kitchen. The area had to be opened, dried and repaired in quick order. Having worked with Bill in the past I sent him a message and he was over the next day. One of the challenges in trying to get projects done during this pandemic is that everyone is rushed, stressed, and overworked. Bill took the time to listen to the issue, had a solid plan, and the resources to get it done in a timely and professional manner. His workers are courteous, follow covid protocol and are very communicative through the whole process. Having worked with Bill twice now, I trust his judgement, know he wont cut corners, and will help me out in the most cost-effective way possible. I recommend him to anyone who needs work done in the GTA. Thanks!

We have used Fairney and Sons for many projects over the years and have never been disappointed. He is courteous, the work is well priced snd well done. This last time he was able to accommodate and immediate repair that included finding a wildlife expert! Thankfully no critters were found.

Over the past few years I noticed that the basement floor in the furnace was getting damp. It was not leaking water but moisture was coming up through the cement on the floor. I live in a 100 year house and decided that I need to have someone come and look at it and recommend what needed to be done. The owner looked at the job and indeed recommended that we do a complete dig out along the north side the house (along the neighbor's cement drive way). This of course involved some negotiation with the neighbor and he helped manage the conversations with the neighbor about the job that need to be done. The crew from Fairney completed the job yesterday and I couldn't be happier. It only took 4 guys 2 days to complete the waterproofing and they were excellent. Tree roots had grown along side the foundation walls and were starting to make holes in the brick foundation. It turned out there was no waterproofing at all when the house was constructed some 100 years ago. The site was kept clean, the guys were polite, respectful of the neighbor, and did a very professional job. Job well done! Thanks again.

We needed to update quite a few things on the exterior of our house - partial rebuild of the chimney, new roof, replacing 4 windows and vinyl siding on the front, back and upper side of the house. We hired Fairney & Sons based on their homestars rating and reviews, and Bill & his team did a great job on this project for us! The team was polite, professional and cleaned up around the job site at the end of each day. We're very happy with the finished product, the outside of the house looks brand new! When we did run into an issue (a lot of rotted roof boards), Bill showed us pictures of the roof so we could see the extent of the damage and walked us through the extra work needed and a breakdown of the additional cost to get it fixed properly. We'd definitely recommend Bill and his team to anyone looking to do renovation work! Thanks again!

My elderly mother was concerned about her driveway wall, sure that water was going to get in, despite no evidence. I couldn't see many problems with the brick, but I called Bill Fairney to take a look, and provide an estimate. He checked out the wall, and told me there were only 3 holes, then offered to fix them for 3. He came a few days later and did just that, fixing a few more on the back walls. How great is that! This type of customer service, focused on building a long-term relationship, is so rare today.

Bill and his team just finished transforming our concrete, cold, scary basement to a beautiful space. We now have a playroom for my kids, gorgeous bathroom and office for my husband, along with a laundry room I actually like being in. Working with Bill and his team was so easy. They had great ideas and were so open with communication about progress, timing and finances. The quality of the work that that was done, from carpentry, plumbing, electrical, flooring, drywall, tiles, etc., was fabulous. Special shout out to Grant, it was a pleasure to know him and have him walk us through the process on a pretty much daily basis. My family had never been through a renovation before and it was such a relief that it wasn't anything like the nightmare stories people warned me about. Thanks to all the extra space, we'll be able to stay in our home for much longer. I wouldn't hesitate to hire Fairney & Sons again.

Now we are returning customers. All the good words on Bill remain the same: Excellent craftsmanship, hard-work, honest, easy to work with, knowledgeable, AAA customer services PLUS, he really cares for the customer and stand behind their work. Due to the COVID restrictions, a minor default in the previous project was left behind in spring. Because of all the craziness of 2020, I didn't bother to call Bill until I need the new quote. Guess what, not only did Bill remember that minor default, but he also remember a few things I consulted with him last time. Eventually when the team were on site for the new project, they restored whatever needed to be restored, and double check the few things I raised, ensure sure everything is fine. It's a easy decision to go with Bill's team. The team - Bill, Pat, Jenifer, Chris, Jeff - are terrific to work with. Professional, polite and personal. They know what needs to be done and were very respectful, helped move furniture and protected the floor/our belongings. Through this job, I lived in the house and am working from home. The team always assure minimum interruption, in cases like the main floor needs to be power off when they work with the electricity outlets. At the end of each day, the team did a decent job cleaning the site, left no mess. Most of the time Pat was the team lead on site. Like Bill, I just can't say enough good words about Pat. He is absolutely amazing to work with. Few things I definitely would like to highlight: #1、Excellent "Can-Do" attitude. The house is a challenging one with limited space, narrow entries and so on. A good example of how challenging it is - a couple years ago there was a well-rated company came for a quote, the gentleman didn't even bother to knock our door, instead he left a polite note saying sorry his team won't be able to handle such case. With Pat, Bill & team, never heard one single complain on how difficult thing is. They work with excellent "Can-Do" attitude. Take any challenges/on-site findings, figure out the options, being very transparent, communicate well when needed - what can be done and whether extra cost required, and keep things moving. Another great example is due to COVID (again), there was definitely extra complexity in terms of getting all the correct supplies. There were days when Pat had to do extra research, spent extra time traveling far away, to get the correct pieces matching with current settings. Even with such delay, which was not the team's fault, Pat still worked late into the night, to finish the days' work. Both his can-do attitude and hardworking is much appreciated. #2、Excellent communication at different levels. As homeowner, I am always curious about how things get done. However, there were days I had 10 meetings and didn't want to hear any more problems. On days I prefer short conversations, Pat just keep me "worry free", provide brief updates on what's done and what's next. On days I was curiously looking at the high quality materials they use, and ask related or maybe stupid questions, Pat was always generous with his deep knowledge and time, sharing details, thoughts and insights that you most likely can only hear from people with extensive hands-on experience, not from Google. #3、Proactive, go above and beyond. Like the previous experience, the team are always proactive, go above and beyond, and even help with things that we didn't think about. During the project, Pat noticed there was sewer smell in our basement bathroom. The problem happened before and did go away, so we don't even bother. The next day Bill came checked, quickly confirmed the cause and shared a easy solution which fixed the problem in no time. This is just one example. In one word, I am definitely looking forward to working with Bill, Pat and the team again, on my future project.

We got possession of our first home in November 2020 and were looking for a contractor to do some renos before we moved in (replacing flooring, taking down prt of a wall, installing potlights and other fixtures, repair plaster, etc.). Bill was quick to respond to our request for a quote and keen to see the house with Grant and John. They were happy to let us buy our own flooring and didn’t insist on going through them. They were also willing to let us remove wallpaper (and then fix it) and do painting ourselves to save $$$, which was great. They started demo the day after we got possession. We mainly dealt with Grant during the reno. He is a super nice guy and was happy to answer our questions and tell us about the process. He and John were also did small things that went beyond the reno like set up our mailbox and move things around our house. They also always left their workspace tidy at the end of the day. Bill and Grant were also respectful of our budget and didn’t push unnecessary upgrades or additional work. They discussed additional expenses before incurring them and willing to move things around to make it work. We are especially pleased that Bill, Grant and John were respectful to us as women and never made us feel like they wished they were dealing with a man. Looking forward to working with them on future projects (kitchen, closets, doors, ...)!

We hired Fairney & Son's based on Homestars reviews and their work around the neighborhood. The project involved waterproofing, installing a washroom and finishing the basement. The job was done professionally to the highest standards. All work was explained beforehand everything proceeded based on what we wanted. The project was finished on time, on budget and we could not be happier with the end result. We will certainly hire Fairney & Son's again.
