    Pressure Regulator repair & Gauge install

    This is my second time using Mr. Swirl . Christopher showed up on time, diagnosed problem quickly and he set out to obtain the gauge I requested to be installed. Gauge Installation and repair were done quickly and clean up was adequate. UPDATE** to this repair.. Pressure builds up in House water lines higher than 140 psi!! ( Dangerous levels) Have to turn off water heater when not home to prevent pressure build up. Called Mr. Swirl and informed them... still waiting on their response and solution to what appears to be a misdiagnosed repair.Update..Mr. Swirl wanted to perform a solution to my problem that would have meant hot water wasted. Unsatisfactory resolution to me. I insisted on the installation of a Thermal Expansion Tank and an anti back-flow valve to solve the problem. This was installed and appears to have remedied the pressure build up problem. However.. A non-potable water Thermal Expansion Tank was installed instead of a potable water Thermal Expansion tank. Have been in contact with the tank manufacturer, (Watts) to see if what was installed is appropriate to use for this application. Waiting on their response. UPDATE... Watts representative stated that the Thermal Expansion Tank installed is not correct for my application. Mr. Swirl acknowledged the error and installed the correct one. All seems to be functioning as required and the excessive pressure build up problem appears to be rectified.

    Plumbing

    We have been renovating two bathrooms and had the toilets in both rooms replaced. The employee, Aman, was pleasant, on time, completed the removal and install in a reasonable time and cleaned up after himself. We have recommended the company to our daughter for some work in her home.

    Replace water heater

    We had an emergency blow-out of our water tank. Mr Swirl was the only company I called that was able to come in that same day and replace the tank. Very efficient and economical, wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

    wahter heater replacement

    I had no rush of replacing my older tank, and I had the company estimator - Dean visited my home for the options discussion. On the agreed day of installation (they had 3 days ahead - no rush indeed), the installer after unpacking the new tank informed me that it cannot be installed. Apparently Dean had no knowledge of what is the tank supposed to have as requirements. While my old tank was dismounted, and I had expectation to have hot water for that day, the company put me in a dire straits condition when I had no point of return (sure they mentioned to put back my older one – which was not quite an option). They could only give me a regular tank, while I, as it was discussed with Dean, wanted Energy Start, any of those which are high efficiency eligible for Fortis rebate. Dean assured me that the chosen on his discretion brand - John Wood, and the model suites my needs, as it, as he thought, did not require electric plug, and was within Fortis eligibility criteria. Swirl failed to show the professional estimation, put me in the condition of the option I did not consider from the beginning. While I had no much to comment on the actual installer work - he did what he could, I am very dissatisfied. Swirl showed lack of expertise in their own field, lack of professional leadership which all leads to bad customer care. I was not given desired options. Both the estimator, and the installed did not tell me the truth saying that ALL High Efficiency Gas Water Tanks require electric plug. That was nonsense as I found at least one model from Bradford White M-4-40T6FBN which is High Efficient and requires no external electricity. Swirl dumped on me the cheap, noise inefficient model taking advantage of me pressed in time, not even suspecting that I could be mislead trusting them as if they were professionals. I short: not professional, not flexible, not optimal price-wise. And the last, which is not the least, the model I was left with - JW840S38ES is at least twice as noisy compared to my older than 15 years tank. The burner, when it heats sounds like a jet plane turbine, literally shaking walls, while my older one from Rheem was almost silent. Very, very unhappy customer. I strongly advise not to deal with Swirl to anyone.

    Emergency faucet repair

    Shawn did a fantastic job for our urgent faucet problem. We had to shutoff the water for the entire house due to a leaky faucet shutoff. He arrived in less than 2 hours to perform a temporary fix allowing us to turn the water back on. The next day he arrived with a new faucet to install, however there was a piece missing from the box and his supplier was now closed. The next day, Saturday was his day off, however he went to Maple Ridge, obtained the missing part and returned to complete the job. Incredible service, friendly manner and a great guy. Highly recommend Shawn for any plumbing job.

    emergency plumbing

    Our basement kitchen sink was spewing out drainage from other sinks in the house and flooded the entire basement, we tried calling many other plumbing outfits in the area only to get no definite time frame when the technician would arrive in,( I wasn't being unreasonable, i just needed a yes or no -not a big maybe). when the technician arrived he immediately got a water pump in action and got rid of the dirty pool of water on the lower floor, (something that they didn't charge extra for, unlike the competition had quoted). He cleared the plugged up drain all the way to the street connection quite quickly( about 25 mins after arriving). I would definitely recommend Mr. Swirl to anyone requiring any plumbing service who doesnt want to get ripped off by the other guys.

    Plumbing

    The shut off valve to my toilet was not working and pipe connecting the water tank was broken. There was no problem in getting the appointment. I was charged $435 to fix and it took them 1.5 hours worth of work. The new parts costed $60. That seems kinda high.

    Not a fun one, clogged toilet :(

    Moving so we had to have our clogged toilet fixed .... Great customer service very friendly . Would defiantly call them again and will recommend to all my friends for sure !

    plumbing - clogged bathtub drain

    I had phoned Mr Swirl to have a clogged bathtub drain cleared. Plumber Daniel came at the time the office had arranged, was friendly and courteous. He took time to explain the expected costs and what he was going to do, the noise the machine would make etc. He cleared the blockage and even filled the tub with water to fully confirm the pipes were clear. He had noticed the tub insert was loose and asked if I wanted that to be fixed as water could seep between it and the tub and cause problems. He pulled it out and the putty had dried up and was in pieces so he reputtied and reinserted the unit. He also tidied up after his work. I am pleased with the service.
