This is my experience: Every call and message was answered immediately. The crew was punctual, they were at the door to the minute with dollies and gear ready to go, that is to say that they arrived early enough to prepare the truck, the ramp, coordinate with the concierge (service entrance access and the elevator put in service and draped). This was taken care of while we were still signing the closing documents at the attorneys office.
The actual move was surgical. It was professional. Yes, it was fast and efficient, and the reason for that was intelligence and experience, thank you Devonte.
All things being equal, I would say punctual, efficient, on budget with nothing broken is an unqualified success for a move, and is deserving of a glowing review, that said, this move deserves more.
This move was not an easy one. I hired Around Town Moving to move my mother. She is 73. Moving is very stressful and it is very difficult. And it is much more difficult and much more stressful when you are 73. Don't kid yourself, if you're hiring a company to move your parent or parents, you are entrusting people to move much more then furniture and belongings. You are hiring them to get your parents and your relationship with your parents to the destination in one piece. And that is asking a lot, on a good day.
On this day: There was a last minute (the night before) change in destination, from 2km away to 30km away. And, the fact there were still 15 14x14 boxes that needed to be (and were) packed after the start of the move.
So with this in mind: Devonte, Mike and Jose handled both the chaos and every item from box to piece furniture that required disassembly (and wrapping) with the kind of care, precision and attention that I or anyone else would only expect if they were moving their own or their parent's things.
At the destination: They reassembled and placed all the furniture where my mother asked (this involved moving and re-moving furniture and boxes). She is happy. I am beyond grateful.
It's not that I couldn't ask for more, it's that I asked for everything that could be asked for, and this company and this crew-- delivered.
