    Back Water Prevention Valve Installation

Dmitry and his team are very professional and reliable. Over the last few years Dmitry and his crew have done the following work: Water- proved the west side of my House, installed a Mainline Backwater Prevention Valve, plus several Plumbing replacement /repair jobs that were needed. All work performed was excellent, the scheduled appointment was kept as planned and the work site was always left clean. I would highly recommend A & Z Plumbing for any plumbing and drain work you may require.

Back water valve installation + lead to copper upgrade from street to home

Dmitry and team were professional and did a fantastic job installing a new backwater valve outside our 1940s constructed home. The team was extremely efficient and Dmitry ensured a timely visit from the city inspector to ensure we could apply for the rebate for this work. At the same time as this installation, we took it upon ourselves to do what we thought a proactive upgrade from 1/2" copper to 3/4" copper from the street into our home. We learned it was in fact lead we still had and were glad we had this done at the same time. The team digs on your property by hand and everything is put back neatly upon completion. No big tire tracks tearing up your lawn from bobcats etc. that you might see with other operations. We were very please with the result and would not hesitate to have Dmitry and team back to deal with other plumbing needs in the future.

    Answer from pro:

Thank you for your wonderful review. I am glad that lead pipes were discovered and replaced, this will provide for safe water in your home. And the trenchless pipe replacement worked like a charm. It requires skill, but it is so worth it because you avoid damage to your lawn, and it looks neat upon completion of the job. Thank you very much for recommending us on Homestars! I will be happy to address any plumbing issues for you in the future ( although wishing you not to have any!) Best regards, Dmitry

Flooded Basement and Pluming Issues Resolved in a Timely Manner

While Sunday morning and flooding basements may seem like your worst nightmare Dmitri from A to Z Plumbing made our solution almost dreamlike. In a panic I called A to Z Plumbing & Drain and Dmitri answered the phone. He asked a few questions and told me he would be at my door within 30-40 minutes. He gave me an approximate cost to do the work we discussed. He arrived within the timeframe promised and executed a plan that took about an hour to resolve. I paid him what he quoted and I was well on my way with my day with resolved plumbing issues. Not a nightmare at all. Highly recommended.

    Answer from pro:

Hi Kathryn, glad to have been able to fix your problem. Thank you very much for your review and recommendation! Best regards, Dmitri.

    Drain replacement, backwater valve installation

Dmitry and his team did a super job using pipe burst technology to replace my 125 yr old clay drainpipe and install a city subsidy-eligible backwater valve. Dmitry answered all my questions promptly and clearly and offered to assist with the City paperwork. His team arranged for, and executed, this work on short notice once I had chosen his team - and they did a super job on site cleanup. I sought quotes from others, including one of the big city companies - they were evasive and uninformative and spent time trying to tear others down. Not Dmitry - he focused on the work, professionalism, promptness and customer satisfaction. No reservations about recommending him to others.

    Answer from pro:

Thank you very much for your highest recommendations. Thanks for your feedback confirming that our approach to plumbing business resonates with our customers. We keep our focus on what we do well, and on customer satisfaction. Pipe burst technology is relatively new, and I see a lot of potential in it. Just comparing how little damage it would cause to the front of the property, how fast it can fix the problem, this makes it superior to the traditional old ways. It saves on labour, and we pass these savings on to our customers. Backwater valve installation has been our specialty for years, and we have perfected the art of install and cleanup through doing a lot of those projects. Hope you enjoy the results for years to come. Thanks once again for recommending us to others should they need help with their plumbing projects. Best, Dmitry.

Replace Water Supply Line and sewage pipe

We had Dmitry come out to replace the private half of our old lead water supply line with new copper supply and the private half of our old clay sewer pipe and install a proper cleanout. Dmitry was very friendly and accommodating. Great customer service with a very low pressure attitude. No sales tactics here, just an honest guy discussing different solutions. Would definitely use them again.

Thanks for writing this, JV. I am a solutions kind of guy, not a salesman, that's for sure.. Appreciate your feedback, and would be happy to assist you again should the need arise. Thanks Dmitry

    Main sewer pipe replacement

Dmitry and his crew were great to work with ! Dmitry was reliable, knowledgeable, accommodating, courteous, and reasonably priced. We had a 38 year old clay pipe running 45 feet through our front yard at a 10-12 ft depth, that needed replacement due to root intrusion and shifting. Another plumbing company had suggested digging a 50 ft trench to expose the full length of the pipe, telling us that the shifting prevented any other option. A full-trench digging had a significant risk of permanently damaging our mature trees in the yard. After a drain camera inspection, Dmitry was able to propose a trenchless option for us. This solution involved digging only two access shafts at each end of the section to be replaced, then inserting a device that bursts the old clay pipe in place and pulls a new PVC pipe into position. This approach was minimally invasive and preserved the integrity of our landscape. Once the new PVC pipe was connected and a new cleanout installed, Roman and Vlad backfilled the shafts, compacted the soil, relaid the original sod, and cleaned the work area to perfection. By the time they were done, you could barely notice that a job this scale was just finished. We definitely recommend Dmitry and his team to anyone needing a good contractor, and plan to work again with them on our future plumbing projects.

    Answer from pro:

Hi William, thank you for your review and your elaborate explanation of this job. I am sure other Homestars users in the same situation will appreciate reading what's involved. This was a challenging job, to diagnose, choose the right solution that creates minimum damage, and to execute it correctly. Trenchless option is relatively new, so not everyone does it, or has enough experience doing it. Since it became available, we've performed quite a few trenchless pipe repairs. The advantage to the homeowner is, as you said, that after using it, "one can barely notice that a job this scale was finished." Classic alternative - digging trenches- causes damage to the landscaping and, oftentimes,to the roots of the trees. We wholeheartedly thank you for your recommendation and for giving us ten stars, Happy to help you in the future, thanks for choosing A To Z Plumbing & Drain Dmitry.

    Backwater Valve installation

Dmitry did a great job providing an estimate, answering all my questions and getting the work done around my working schedule (my office is in the basement). They covered up all my previous computers, and the disruption was minimal. Started late in the afternoon, finished that day after 3 hours, got the city inspector visit the next morning, and everything was done on day 2. He also answered some more questions after the job was completed, which is very nice.

    Answer from pro:

Thanks for leaving your review on Homestars, jimmy! Glad you were satisfied with our work. If you need any other plumbing work done, we would gladly assist you in the future. Cheers, Dmitry

    Basement sewage line replacement

I have had problems with roots in the sewage line. Had to have them cleared last year, and the same problem was re-occurring this spring. I decided I wanted to fix the problem instead of simply clearing the roots. The house already had PVC coming into the basement from work done 20 years ago because of roots, but still had clay in the interior. I had two estimates, and by far Dmitry's estimate was far better. Dmitry included partially changing the iron main stack in the basement to ABS. Work included about 22' feet of concrete excavation, two branch line connections, and 7' of the stack which had 2 connections. They repaired the concrete as well, and took away all debris. The crew was amazing! They placed drop sheets along the entire walkway, put protective plastic where needed in the room and completed the work in about 7 hours. The water was only off for a couple of hours in total. I am extremely pleased with the work. Thanks!

    Answer from pro:

Hello again and than you for your review. I am so happy you are pleased with our work. It was a right decision to replace the pipe as the tree roots ( from my experience ) will find the way into the old pipes. Now you have nothing to worry about. Thank you very much for taking your time to describe your experience with A To Z Plumbing & Drain. We are happy to work with you in the future although hope your house won't require another major plumbing project anytime soon :) Best, Dmitry.

    Backwater valve installation

So glad that I found Dmitry and his crew here at Homestars. They installed a backwater valve for us and made the whole process, which I thought was going to be complicated, quick and easy. They were prompt, professional, and respectful. His crew worked efficiently and made sure that the area they worked on was clean after their work was done. I also appreciate that they had placed sheets on the floor to keep area from the main door to the basement door clean and covered up our stuff in the basement before doing the work. I am also glad that Dmitry took care of getting the necessary city permit and inspection done, saved us time and effort. They demonstrated professional service so I certainly would recommend Dmitry and A-to-Z Plumbing to anyone!
