    Emergency Fridge Repair

    Friday night of the Canada Day long weekend, our fridge started to smell like burned plastic. 2 minutes later, black smoke started pouring out of the back of the fridge. I managed to run down and shut off the power before any damage was really done. I didn't know if I could get anybody to come on the Saturday morning of a long weekend, but Kevin from North Durham Appliance called us at 9am on Saturday morning. Kevin was on his way out for his vacation... but STILL came by to have a look. He replaced the part that caught fire, and we still had an issue so he had to go back to his shop and get another part... which he did. This is so far above an beyond, I can't thank him enough. What a fantastic job. Fridge is up and running, and it cost me $118.

    Washer dryer and fridge

    North Durham Appliance was fantastic, from start to finish their customer service was perfect. I've had them in 3 times for 3 separate appliances each time they have been on time and on budget. They always take the time to explain what the repair was and offer great tips on maintenance .... These guys are the best!

    Washing Machine

    My washing machine broke down on Easter weekend. North Durham had a worker (Joe) at my door by Monday morning. He explained the problem and took the time to educate my husband and I. Joe fixed the problem in a timely manner and left the laundry room clean. Friendly and skilled! Highly recommend.

    Stove Repair

    I have a older kitchen Aid stove that the convection feature stopped working and was told by others it would not be worth fixing. Then a friend highly recommend North Durham Appliance so I gave them a call and Joe came and within 10 min found the problem. A few days later he came back with the part and had it working again in no time. I would highly recommend North Durham Appliance to any one. Friendly staff and fair prices you will not be disappointed.

    Dryer belt repair

    I called about getting them to fix broken dryer drive belt. We are more-or-less out of their area and couldn't get to us for a few days. When I moaned about not wanting to wait this long (nor pay for a long distance service call, he suggested that this repair was something I could probably do myself. When I said that I didn't know how to get the side of the dryer off (as that appeared might be the case) he told me that it wasn't a very difficult repair to do and only required taking the front off, not the side. In fact, the repair was easy but I might have to go to Stouffville or Oshawa for the belt. In fact, the part was a fairly common part and was able to get it fairly locally. So, in the end, all that North Durham Appliance did was tell me how to do it myself. I cost them potential business but earned them my sincere gratitude and earned them this review!

    All appliance clean up and maintenance

    I had just purchased a new home with all appliances included. I decided it would be a good idea to get them looked over by a professional and North Durham Appliance just happen to have a special on. The maintenance guy (Tom) came in and cleaned and checked every appliance in the entire house. Washer, dryer, dishwasher, stove and fridge. He told me there condition as he cleaned them and any suggestion he had for future maintenance. He also pointed out anything that could be a problem later on. He had some very good tips and suggested cleaning products. I think this was a very good investment and now I know what kind of shape the appliances I got with the house are in, how old they are and approximatly how long they should last me if I look after them. Excellent job Tom!
