    Newmarket to Edmonton

    Please consumers never go near this moving company or the people involved here. They are rude,not aware of what moving is like and the stress we go through ,they just the bussiness

    Movers

    Don't go near this company. We were moving some furniture from our house in Ottawa ot our family cottage in N.S. Although they picked up the furniture on July 25th, it didn't get delivered until October 7th. Their service is non-existent. Three times I was told it would be delivered and it wasn't, which was a HUGE inconvenience for the people waiting to take delivery in N.S. I spoke to five different people at Greenland and you simply can't trust what they say since my impression is that they will say anything they think you want to hear, to get you off the phone. They are incompetent (except for the actual delivery pick-up and drop-off labourers who were very polite and professional.) The office staff simply doesn't care about client service at all. UPDATE: I have just received a call from Greenland. They read my review and offered me money (reimbursement of some of what I paid for the move) if I would change my review to a positive one. I refused. This incident only reinforces my point -- they are NOT a good company to deal with. On top of incompetence, they tried to bribe me. In my view, they should not to be trusted.

    moving

    The moving from Toronto to Edmonton was great.. the delivery was on time, and everything was in order and well organized. The person who gave me all the info, Samantha, was very king and she explained step by step about the whole process. I'm thankfull for the service Greenland Van Lines gave me and I really recommend this company. Short or Long distance.

    Long Distance Move

    I have moved with Greenland Van lines from Toronto to Lethbridge last month.The quality of service was superb!! The movers did a great job and office people were super friendly!! Would highly recommend

    long distance move

    Update 10/10/12. Was contacted by Brock from Claims department shortly after the original review was posted. Request was made to remove the review so they could do everything in their power to locate the missing box and compensate me for it appropriately. I used this opportunity to request the scale tickets as previously mentioned was denied access to them. They were sent to me, something rather suspect going on here. On complete inventory of the boxes, I really believe that I paid for at least 400lbs more than the actual weight. My bad for being so anxious for my bed that I didn't demand these tickets before paying. I was offered a small amount in compensation for the missing box conditional on removing this review. Since that amount wouldn't come close to replacing the items in the box I've decided to leave well enough alone. That and customer service is once again non-existent :) I've spent too much negative energy on this project already... on wards and upwards and positive thinking. My mistake for trusting this company with my belongings... Hope this helps someone else avoid the same mistake :) I've just completed (mostly) a long distance move with Greenland Van Lines. I had very few positive experience but I will start with them. booking agent (Samantha) was friendly, empathetic to the fact that I was going to be sleeping on the floor until my furniture was delivered as a previous mover had fallen through. Quick response (within an hour of most emails) drivers and helpers were good, mostly punctual (2 hours late on pick up but understandable with long distance moving) Quality of actual move was good, the boxes that did arrive were in excellent condition and not a single thing was broken (I packed the boxes myself) I was reluctantly given a small discount based on the increased wait time Now for the negatives of which there are many all in the customer service department I was originally promised dates for pick up between Sept 7-11 with delivery 2-4 days later. I made email contact with Samantha on the 7th no response which seemed odd (see above) then the weekend emailed again on the 10th still no response so I called was told the dates had been changed to Sept 17-20. Called the next day to confirm was then given dates between 19-22 and was told I was being untruthful when I said the previous day I'd been told the 17-20. Pick up was on the 22nd (I called every single business day to confirm between Sept 10-22 as I had by this time lost all trust and was getting grumpier by the day sleeping on an air mattress). On each of the dates that I called I asked for a confirmation of the new dates via email in writing (10 requests) which I never received. I found that as I became a more disgruntled client, my # was definitely being screened and the phone would be answered straight to hold music for 15-20 min at a time (longest hold time was 30 min when I finally hung up). Emails and voice mails were never responded to after original booking experience. Delivery finally occurred yesterday. I'm quoted a final weight from the official scales for which you pay $50. Despite asking again multiple times this was never produced for my viewing. The amount I was given for weight was 1400lbs (a bit odd to have and even weight) I had 29 items mainly boxes (1400/29= 48.28). I perhaps had 5 boxes/items that were 60-70lbs but just as many of them were super lightweight most were in the 15-20 lb range. I believe I was jilted on the weights. Also, one box was not delivered, there was a bit of a mix-up as some of the boxes weren't numbered. However upon unpacking, after payment realize one box of precious belongings and sentimentals is missing. When I called was informed to fill out the online claim form. I receive an automated reply that it will be looked into in the next 2-4 weeks. No apology, no phone call to resolve this issue asap... no information as to the process that will be undertaken to resolve this issue... Oh and $350 deductible and payment at $0.58/lb Thanks for nothing Greenland. Whatever you do, do not book with this company unless you have a lot of time on your hands you're really flexible about the dates and don't really care when it gets picked up and delivered and don't mind if your belongings go missing...

    Moving company

    I overall had a great experience! The movers were very professional and my sales representative was awesome! The only issue I had was my delivery was an hour delayed due to traffic. Great company and very highly recommended.

    long distance move

    Greenland Van Lines moved us from Vancouver to Toronto. Every person I dealt with was kind and helpful. The movers arrived on time, our belongings were stored in Greenland's warehouse in Toronto, and then delivered to the final address. All went well. There was one small problem, which was fixed immediately. I think it is unrealistic to expect that absolutely everything happens 100 % perfect during such a major move, and it is important to know how well a company stands behind their product and promises. I was truly impressed with Greenland's responsiveness and service.

    Moving from Calgary To Ottawa

    I was sooo disappointed from the service I got. The delivery I was promised was 10 max, but eventually I received my shipment after 3 weeks. Communication with the agent was very hard. We received our furniture with some damages and couple of missing items. After submitting a claim form for the damages we were only eligible to one tenth of the claimed amount. Bottom line I don't recommend this company to anyone.

    move from London to Toronto

    Greenland provided an excellent service. The moving crew was professional, polite, and very careful with my stuff. There were no hidden or extra fees. They only charged $100 to break up the move to two days. I will definitely use them again. (It would have been cheaper to use 3 person crew. Live and learn).

    moving from toronto to edmonton

    Very good service, helpful and extremely efficient. We received so many quotes but decided to go with Greenland Van Lines based on their reviews. My agent Samantha took the time to go over all of the items I wanted to move and gave me very accurate estimate. She suggested certain things to be protected and wrapped (which I didn't think of). The move went off without a glitch and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for moving services.
