Hot Water Heater Install and Relocation

We couldn't be happier with Denmark Plumbing and Heating. After getting fed up with the box stores, we called Kris on a Friday afternoon about getting a new hot water tank and putting it in a new location. Kris came by on a Saturday afternoon to take a look, gave us an estimate Monday morning and installed Tuesday afternoon. He was honest with us about our options and the costs and did a great job installing. He was the utmost professional and will be our "go-to" guy for any future plumbing or gas needs. Thanks, Kris!!

    Answer from pro:

It was a smart move to own your own hot water tank, not many people realize how much money can be saved doing that. I always try to help people when there's an urgent situation. We would be more than happy to work with you in the future.

    reconfigure gas pipe outside

We needed the gas pipe underneath our porch reconfigured so that we could build storage for garbage cans there. So we called Kris after checking out Homestars for a gas pipe specialist. We made a great choice! Kris arrived promptly and gave us a reasonable estimate. He and his sidekick Wyatt completed the job neatly, efficiently, and with style. We would happily call Kris again for any further work of this kind.

    Answer from pro:

Thank you for writing the review. We take pride in our work, and build things to last. We look forward to working with you in future projects.

Installation of gas line for BBQ

After lots of searching through Homestars we settled on Denmark for the installation of a new BBQ gas line. We'll be repeat customers for sure after the service we received. In a few words: professional, timely and very knowledgeable. Kris came over to take a look at our situation and firm up the quote. The date was set for the following week. The evening before the scheduled work day Kris called just to confirm the arrangements. He showed up on time the next morning and got to work. He helped address some questions about the installation our neighbours had too as it ran along the side of the house facing their property. Thanks Kris!

    Answer from pro:

Working with you was a pleasure too, thank you for writing the review. I look forward to working with you in the future.

    Disconnecting radiators and troubleshooting

From the moment we met him, my husband and i enjoyed speaking with Kris. He is calm, professional , knowledgeable and personable. We were renovating our home and needed to have our radiators disconnected as soon as possible so that work could begin. He came almost immediately to quote us on the job at a very reasonable price, and was very flexible and prompt in setting a date for the job to be done. Before he came to disconnect the rads, a leak developed in the basement so we called in about 5-6 different basement quotes, almost all of them recommending to excavate and dig and underpin...all words you don't expect to be hearing because of a small leak. On the advice of a friend, we asked Kris if he could take a look as well and offer another viewpoint. He didn't hesitate and was happy to oblige and since he was going to be on site for the disconnection, did not charge us extra for the investigation. With some troubleshooting, he was able to offer up a few suggestions and very helpful alternatives. He understood and was able to empathise with our shock at what we were being told to do with the possibility of a basement excavation. All the time, he cautioned us to simply be very aware of other sources of the leak . His manner certainly helped to temper the whole situation. He was such an ally in the whole situation that i feel he was just as frustrated as we were in that position . Eventually, he helped us rule out a plumbing issue with virtually no additional cost, despite his original scope being that of disconnecting the radiators. It is very refreshing to work with someone whom you feel you can TRUST. At every moment, Kris was in touch with either my husband or myself so that we knew exactly what the situation was and so that he could confirm if we wanted to move ahead in any specific direction. We communicated almost daily via email. We were never left wondering and waiting. Not once! His responses were prompt, polite and actually answered our questions. Imagine that! Not once did he ask for money up front and was very understanding of our whole situation. The care he took in dealing with our home and with us, made us truly feel as though that was his priority, while being able to complete the scope in a timely and professional manner. Before he was even finished with the job, my husband and i knew we had found a plumber we could trust and rely on and we will definitely will be calling on him if ever the need arises. Thanks so much, Kris. You've left a great impression!

Re-routing radiant heating lines in basement and plumbing a basement bathroom

We can't say enough good things about Kris and his team! We needed to re-route several radiant heating lines in the basement of our 100 year old house so we called Kris to come in to take a look. He was in the next day and promptly provided us with a detailed and reasonable quote. We found him to be very knowledgable and we appreciated that he took the time to explain what was involved and how he would go about doing the job. As a side note: we had a couple of other contractors in to quote for the same job, one gave us a ridiculously high quote with only the price (no details, or explanation of materials/ labour) and the other simply told us what we wanted was impossible (when in reality it was just harder and took more time). We had timelines to meet, and even though he was quite busy, Kris made sure our timelines were met. He showed up when he said he would and finished our project on time. We were so impressed with Kris' quality of work, we asked him to plumb our basement bathroom as well and we couldn't be happier with the result. As with all old houses, wrenches were thrown in the mix, but Kris took it all in stride and came up with many helpful suggestions and creative solutions. Kris and his team are a great crew - we found them to be very pleasant and respectful. We have a few more renovations coming up and we will definitely be calling Kris and his team to help! If anybody is looking for a knowledgable, honest plumber, look no further!

    Answer from pro:

Hi Wendy, we sure overcome some challenging situations during the course of your renovation and we were more than happy to be able to make your renovation a reality. I'm glad we were of service to you and we look forward to continuing and strengthening our business relationship for a long time to come!

    BBQ Gas Line

Kris quoted and installed a natural gas line for us last night. He took the time to understand the specifics we required for the location of the line and was great at explaining how the line would look, the requirements of Building Code, the materials he would be using and exactly what he would be doing. He quietly worked on while my kids attempted to distract him and he tested the BBQ and cleaned up after himself before he left. I will recommend him to anyone looking for this type of work.

    Answer from pro:

Putting in that BBQ line had its challenges, providing clear answers and delivering quality work is what we strive to accomplish on every job. I look forward to developing a long working relationship with you and your family.

Hose bib and natural gas lines redirected

We needed to get our exterior gas line and hose bib rerouted up about 8" because they were in the way of a planned deck to be constructed. I called Kris and spoke to him about what needed to be done. He was very helpful and quoted a fair price. After emailing him some pictures, he explained exactly what he would have to do. Kris was able to do the job the very next day, on Saturday! He was very professional, friendly, and thorough...everything that you would expect in a contractor, and more! I would highly recommend Kris for your contracting needs.

Hi Richard, I'm glad I was able to help you in a timely matter and look forward to working for you in the future.

    Basement drain backing up

I was having frequent problems with my basement drain periodically backing up. I called a drain cleaning company who told me my entire house drain would need to be dug up and replaced for $8500.00. They offered me no other options even though the overall cost would be much higher because my basement was finished meaning my hardwood floor would most likely need to be replaced. They were also very pushy and did not have my best interests in mind at all. After they left I wanted a second opinion and gave Kris a call. He came with another drain inspector and showed me that the roots were on the city side of my property meaning that they would have to pay to replace it and that there was nothing wrong with my drains. His honesty saved me $8500.00 + hst!!! He is absolutely my Plumber I'll be using from now on! I have a BBQ line to install soon which I'll have him do for me next week. I've recommended him to all of my friends and family.

    Answer from pro:

Hi Aimee, I'm glad we were able to clear up this recurring drain problem for you. As we all know there's not a lot of honest people out there, but especially when it comes to your drains and plumbing. Making a difference in peoples lives and looking out for their best interests is what concerns me most. That I believe is what makes a company successful in the long run.

Water line for fridge and Laundry valve replacement

Unexpectedly our laundry valves started leaking profusely and needed to be changed. Kris quickly and efficiently replaced them and shortly after brought a water line to our fridge. He did all of this while on 'vacation' too! He was a pleasure to deal with and we're happy he was here to do this work.

    Answer from pro:

Looking after my clients is my first priority regardless of my schedule. I hope to be of service to you and your family for many years to come.
