I had my entire roof done 3 months ago but I suspected it was not done properly. I found IRIS from homestars.com and called Dave. what a pleasant experience! Dave and his son David arrived on time. They are very polite and professional. The want up to the top of roof, inspected thoroughly and took lots photos. They also spent time explaining to my roofing company what is wrong with the roof job. Finally, I received the report within two days. This is detailed report with pictures as evidence. I am very happy with IRIS and definitely recommend them.

Out of the multiple roof inspection companies I called, Dave was the only person who was open to traveling to Tottenham to inspect our roof. He was more than willing to schedule our appointment on December 27th, a day after the Christmas holidays. Dave was super friendly on the phone and answered all of our questions, even before meeting with us. Dave and his partner were punctual, friendly, thorough and spent time explaining th the definciencies he found on our roof. Independent Roof Inspection Services was exactly what we were looking for, when we urgently needed honest advice about the roof of our Toronto home. Three different roofers we’d called offered very different explanations and solutions for leaks we’d been having (including one who insisted we need to replace the entire roof) and we had no idea whom to trust. Then, suddenly we had water from the roof coming into the house creating damage on every storey of our house. We needed independent advice and quickly. We contacted Dave of Independent Roof Inspection Services and he called back promptly, arranging to come the next day. We learned that Dave has decades of experience in the roofing business and is now consulting to homeowners like us who want expert impartial advice from someone who does not have a vested interest in selling something. Within a day, we had a detailed written report with photos detailing the problems with our roof and a list of the specific, relatively minor, things that needed to be done to fix them. Dave is guiding us through the steps we need to take, answering any questions we have, and checking up on work we are having done to assure that the problems have been properly addressed. I called Independent Roof Inspection Services because we were worried that there was mold and potential structural damage to our roof. We have plans to reshingle the roof so rather than have a roofing company come and look at it, we figured it would be beneficial to have an independent inspection done to be on the safe side. Independent Roof Inspection Services did a great job, they were polite, reliable and they were thorough in their inspection. A full written report was sent the day after inspection outlining any issues with the roof and the conclusions of the inspection. My family and I were very happy with their service. Best part is that our roof is ok, just can use new shingles and additional vents. Could have potentially ended up spending a lot if a non independent company looked at it.

We thought we hired the best reputable roofer - big name in the city. We noticed a few issues during installation and on their final review discovered BIG issues (roof vents just slapped right onto shingles without actual venting!!) This was a shock and we knew we needed independent advice - not getting proper answers from the roofer. After calling Dave, we immediately felt at ease. He took over, is so respected, and made sure that the roofer repaired everything to his satisfaction, despite it taking numerous times for them to complete everything. Make sure to hire him in advance to monitor the job - so worth it !!!

My next door neighbour was re-roofing their house and the roofer mentioned that mine was also in bad shape. Not knowing this person, I wasn't sure if he was just trying an up-sell since he would already be next door. Since I've never been up on my roof and wouldn't know what to look for even if I was up there, I called Independent Roof Inspection Services who confirmed I needed a re-roof done and showed me why. However, it's the additional services of (1) Providing a reasonability check on estimates, and (2) doing a post-job inspection to make sure it is done right, that provides complete peace of mind.

Dave scheduled an appointment for us in a very short notice to accomodate our urgent need. He was on time, actually even a bit earlier, by the time we met, he had already had a brief exam of the roof. He went onto the roof twice that morning in order to thoroughly address our questions and concerns. He spotted the problem that caused the leaking as well as a few other problematic areas. He backed his inspection verdicts with pictures and further explained to us what needs to be done. Because the problems are caused by the neighbour's construction and need to be taken care of from their side, Dave even approached their contractor on our behalf and discussed the solution. Throughtout the whole meeting, he was professional and curtesous. More importantly, Dave kept his words, he sent me the inspection report in 2 days and came back after a week to check the remedy for the leaking which we feel is very considerate and responsible. He also promised to come back and check the other problematic spots once the construction is completely finished. What more can i say? We are very impressed with his service and look forward to seeing Dave soon.

We had our roof redone and there were issues with leaks etc. immediately after. The roofing company provided by insurance said we needed a whole new roof again and provided a quote for them to complete (to be paid out of our pocket and not covered by insurance). After getting burned, I made sure to do a little extra due diligence and hired Independent Roof Inspection Services to come and provide a 3rd party, objective report on whether or not the full roof actually needed to be replaced. David and his son were fantastic to work with. They were responsive, attentive to details, reasonably priced and provided a great report showing the issues on my roof. I trust their expertise and would recommend their services.

I hired Dave to have a look at my roof after just completing a new home build. I was wary of the quality of the work the roofing subcontractors had done per our agreement. Dave did a thorough review of the roof and provided appropriate recommendations. I have yet to present the findings to the subcontractor but there are sufficient issues that will likely save me money on the final payment due. Dave has offered to oversee any of the fixes to ensure they are done correctly. Highly recommend if you need an independent review of your roof.

We had hired a roofing contractor who proved to be incompetent and the result was a roof that looked very poor and which leaked with the first rains in the fall. Dave and his team were excellent. They clearly identified the problem areas and supplied a detailed report that allowed us to complete emergency repairs on the roof before the onset of winter. The report was also used to support our refusal to complete payment to the roofing contractor who was responsible for the shoddy work. We have now gone through a the entire winter without any issues. We would have no hesitation in recommending IRIS to anyone in need of an experienced and professional roof specialist.
