I've got a large commercial flat roof, built over 40 years ago. Every previous roofing company I've ever had has taken one look and told me the entire roof needs to be replaced immediately, at a cost of $300,000. But when I had Independent come by, they gave me other options, and found a way to keep the roof from leaking without needing a full replacement. David was able to find all of the places in the roof where leaks were occurring, and recommended a roofer fix those. The roof will now last many more years until we have the money for a full replacement.

I needed advice on my old cedar shingle roof and being a single woman with absolutely no idea who to trust and what to look for in a roofer, I contacted Dave for advice. He inspected my roof, gave me a checklist of things to ask a potential roofer, and even offered to come back and check on the progress. I felt much more confident about things, knowing the basics and what questions to ask. With Dave's help I found a great roofer and I'm completely happy with my new roof!

In the course of some other work on my house we discovered some serious problems with the roof (which had been replaced just two years prior). I needed a roof inspector to come out quickly and give me a thorough and unbiased evaluation of the roof work that had been done. I was lucky to find Dave who came out on very short notice and prepared a detailed report with specific recommendations. Not only did Dave analyze the potential sources of my roof problem, he also identified a number of other issues with the recent roof installation. He patiently answered all my questions and advised me on what I needed to do to correct the problems. Roof work is expensive and something most of us do maybe once or twice in our lifetimes, so the average person does not know a lot about the technicalities of roofing. We also don't climb on our roofs, so we do not know if the roofer did a good job. It is definitely worthwhile to have an independent adviser like Dave to help you evaluate roofing quotes and assess quality of work.

I am in the process of building a new house. We encountered a roof leak and the contractors (roofer & aluminum guys) were not being cooperative in trying to locate and fix the issue. They were pointing fingers at one another. I contacted David @ IRIS and he came promptly, went on the roof, and identified a several quality issues with both the roofer & aluminum contractors. He wrote an independent report and also facilitated a discussion with the roofer. The key to hiring David was to have an unbiased opinion and report to show the contractors what needs to be fixed. Home inspectors will not go on your roof to find installation defects like IRIS could do. Thanks, David!

Dave was a pleasure to deal with, a very informed and nice guy. I wanted an impartial inspection, since I'm a new home owner and wanted to learn about the condition of our old roof, without any sales (scare) tactics or up-sells. Dave made a full report of the roof condition, what the priority fixes were, what could wait, and even gave me some material samples to know what to look for. I feel like I had a small course in roofing, and feel more informed - well worth the price.
