Upgrading attic insulation from originally rated R32 to R60
I am very happy with the work performed by Eco Comfort, to me they have really lived up to my expectation, which is largely based on what I read here on HomeStars, from providing in-home service quote to topping up the attic insulation and replacing my 3 bathroom exhaust fan hoses. They provided me with a clear explanation of their pre-upgrade assessment, including photos showing small sections of mold all near my bathroom exhausts. I opted for the mold removal and preventative spray and they were able to provide me with before-and-after photos of the actual work - all plywood is clear of mold afterwards. While attempting to seal the bathroom exhaust fan hoses, they also discovered that none of existing hoses were actually connected to the fan - they were all too short to reach the fan! So they replaced all of them with a longer insulated hose for an additional small cost. Unfortunately, the crew appeared to be in a rush to leave when everything was completed and I didn't have a chance to review all the photos and checked all the bathroom fans before they left and later upon my own inspection, I found that one of the bathroom fans sounded like it was blocked and not functioning optimally. After explaining to them on the phone the issue of my bathroom exhaust fan the next business day, they agreed to send someone to take a look at it on the following day. A different crew came the following day, listened patiently to my observation while I showed them what I found about that one exhaust fan and agreed immediately to go up to the attic to find out what was going on. Turned out the exhaust fan hose was a bit too long and kinked at one location, thus blocking airflow. They rectified the problem, made sure the fan was venting properly and vacuum cleaned my closet floor below the hatch before leaving. They also sent me an updated invoice showing amount paid in full without me asking for it. Eco Comfort is courteous, professional, and their pricing is competitive, too. I will not hesitate to recommend them.
