I found EcoComfort on HomeStars. I was very impressed with all three phases - quote, work performed and follow up. Wojtek provided a quote and explained the work involved. The crew showed up on time and were very friendly and professional. They explained the work performed and I was able to view the work they did in the attic. I was pleasantly surprised how thoroughly they cleaned up. Claudia followed up to make sure I was 100% satisfied. I would definitely recommend EcoComfort.

I would not hesitate to recommend EcoComfort Insulation. In fact I have already recommended them to 4 others. From the initial quote to completion, all members of the team were courteous and professional. Wojtek came for the initial estimate. He used a laser to measure the attic and did an inspection. While the original installer labeled the attic as having R38, over time the blown cellulose was now closer to R20. Wojtek mentioned that they put baffles between every available rafter and would top it up to R60. The price was competitive and Wojtek was knowledgeable, answering all of my questions. The install team came a couple of weeks later. It was a team of 3 and took them 2.5 hours. They also noticed that the bathroom exhaust fans were not sealed properly, causing leakage into the attic. They fixed that as well for no charge. In the end they cleaned up and vacuumed after themselves. I am very happy with their work. Below are before and after pics. The Red line in the before pic shows how much insulation was added. They also added batt insulation to the hatch and sealed the opening.

The project was professionally done and clean. The owner, Wojtek came and quickly estimated how much rebate I can get from Green ON Program. His quote is very reasonable comparing to another contractor. The crew came as scheduled and explained everything to us. Once the crew completed the work, my husband went up to the attic and took some pictures. The upgrade was done perfectly from 4" to 22". Now I feel my whole house is so warm. I highly recommend your company to all my family and friends.

If you want quality work that's done by good and honest people that go above and beyond, then I highly recommend EcoComfort. (Note: The job was done on February 6, 2018) Based on all the reviews, I decided to go with this company so I called and left a message and I also sent them an email, and I got a response the next morning. I told Wojtek (pronounced Voitek) that we were getting frost build up on the roof sheathing due to condensation because we didn't have enough insulation in our attic, we only had one layer of faced batt insulation and old loose insulation on top of it which was flush to the top of the joists. Wojtek was able to come and give me a quote within 2 days, he was straight forward about what needed to be done and why. He didn't try to use any scare tactics to upsell me on any unnecessary extras. He actually tried to save me money by offering to just blow in more insulation on top of what was already there, but I wanted to make sure that the attic got thoroughly sealed up so no heat escapes up there. He even told me to turn down my humidifier like he does in the winter. Wojtek was always there to answer any questions that I had, and if I left a message he would call me back promptly. He was always easy to talk to and very informative regardless of how big or small the question was. Now on the day of the job, Tom and Bart were there to take care of everything. They are some very genuine, polite, proficient, and hard-working guys. They made sure that they did a clean job by putting down tarps wherever the tubes were going to be placed, they even had two different pairs of boots to wear inside and outside, and they made sure that the door was always closed behind them so the cold wouldn't get in. Once they finished removing the old insulation, they let me know so I could go up and inspect the attic. After that, they proceeded with installing and extending the baffles, spraying the disinfectant and mold stain remover, air sealing any penetrations, blowing in new R60+ cellulose insulation, and replacing a new attic hatch cover with insulation and weatherstripping. On top of all the work that they had to do, they still took the time to help me turn the bathroom fan around and install a new insulated duct for it because the quality of the existing duct wasn't that good – and it was done free of charge. After the job was completed, they made sure that every and anything was left clean. Tom and Bart are very diligent professionals that take pride in their work, and they always responded to any questions that I had in a pleasant and polite manner. I've been up in the attic a few times so I know how hard and frustrating it is to do any type of work in such an enclosed area. The following day Claudia sent me the invoice and asked if I had any questions, she even sent me some before and after pictures that I requested. The whole experience with EcoComfort was a very good one, any of the rooms that were cold are now well heated and we don't have a bunch of condensation on our windows either. The hard-earned money that we paid for EcoComfort's services was well worth it. The company also filled out the paperwork on our behalf for a $700 rebate which we should be getting in a few months.

The guys were great, the work was great , all of them spent time with me and showed and explained everything in detail. I am honestly very happy with the job done. Again from the Quote to the final execution was 100% perfect. They hide nothing , they show you there work, they are very clean and polite bunch of guys. The office is also great very quick to help and verify things. If you need Attic insulation removal and fresh insulation installed these are the guys to use. I also want to say they installed 2 bathroom vents on my roof which was also done very good. Great Work EcoComfort !!

TLDR: Great job, crew not afraid to get down and dirty to do it right. It was always hot and muggy on the top floor of my back-split. The area just below the attic access was extra warm and had a musky odor whenever the temperature went up to 26 or higher. Updating the 50+ years old attic insulation was due since it was a pretty thin layer by today's standard (and old and smelly.) I found 3 very reputable companies and called 2 to provide a quote. The first came and saw the attic and said that it was too low and advised me to call them back when I upgrade the roof. They can then suck out the old insulation via the roof. That was not what I wanted to hear since I still got 5 to 10 years on the roof. The 2nd company I called was EcoComfort. Wojtek assessed the attic, answered my questions and assured me their installers will NOT have any issue with the small attic and low roof. When they arrived on the day of the installation, I asked the lead if they do soffit vents. He first went around the house and confirmed we didn't have enough. He showed me exactly what they have and quoted on the spot. The insulation removal and installation went well - no issue at all. Ten soffits vents with baffles were added. All the installers were troopers. It was hot, the roof was low and attic was tight. They managed to remove all the old smelly insulation. I saw them on their hands and knees to get to all the nooks and crannies. A thick layer of new insulation was installed (looked like triple the amount of the old.) Again, they ensured the new insulation covered all the tight spots. Well, why did I wait so long to write this review (job was done in June, 2016)? I wanted to see if there was energy usage/cost savings over time. This did not really pan out since our energy usage grew as our family grew. I do have the other observations that indicated EcoComfort did an excellent job. We all noticed the musky smell was gone the first summer, the hot spot under the attic was gone and the best indicator is that there hasn't been any icicle buildup on the roof for 3 winters now (a stark difference with my neighbours houses.) Overall, a great job and worth every dollar. The crew has to be commended - they were troopers (and troupers) – working as a team not afraid to get down and dirty to get the job done.

Wow, we found EcoComfort through the Greenon.ca program and everyone from start to finish was excellent. From initial visit for quoting by Wojtek, installers led by Brandon to Claudia for billing went perfectly. All work was done on time, clean and profession. I would recommend EcoComfort to anyone needing insulation services.
