Mike exhibits superior workmanship with amazing attention to detail and leaves the site better than how he left it. I had a shower and tub leak through the ceiling. After Mike was finished, ceiling looked better than it had before the incident. Will be calling Mike for all future drywall, mudding, taping jobs and referring him to everyone I know!

We had a very intensive, and expensive renovation completed in the fall of 2014. A few months later a few cracks opened up in our brand new ceiling. Our contractor came back to check & stated they would be back in the spring to fix them. Over the winter they went out of business, which wasn't surprising because our experience with them was AWFUL, to say the least. As a result, we were stuck with one very long and large crack, and one smaller one. I was faced with trying to find someone to fix it, and that wasn't going to be easy. After calling a few, I kept hearing that they're too busy, or won't come for a smallish job, etc. I gave up and was going to fix it myself. I later decided that I just didn't have the time. I saw a drywall company van on the way to work one morning and decided to research the company. I immediately got onto Homestars and couldn't find one lick of info about them. I did however come across Mike's name immediately. He was the first drywall expert/company to pop up on the site as a recommendation. Now I know why. He had less than ten reviews but all of them were amazing, and highly rated overall. I called him immediately after reading the reviews and asked if he could come to look at the cracks that needed to be repaired. He said yes and came by to make an assessment on how to fix them and for a quote. He listened and promised me a quote by the end of that day. I received it via email just a few hours later. I contacted him the following day and we booked a time for the repair. He kept me well informed in advance of the repair, during and has touched base after the fact to ensure that the repair is ok, and to let me know if there were any problems (not that there have been, or I suspect will be) to contact him immediately. He was easy to contact, was always on time (in fact he was usually early which was perfectly fine) and super tidy, clean and took the time to properly prep the area he was going to work in to keep the mess contained, to protect our floors and furniture. He also was careful to cleanup really thoroughly after it was all done. He had to come back a few days in a row in order to let each coat of mud dry before adding another, and he made sure to do it right. His suggestion of a solution, after originally seeing the crack, was the method he followed through on, and it worked brilliantly. You cannot see that there was a repair there at all. Earlier repairs by the original contractor (the one that went out of business and left us with this mess) were pretty awful. You can still see areas where they either were incapable of completely hiding the joint, or properly applying and sanding the mud to blend seamlessly, but Mike is a true professional. I wish I'd known about him either before the contractor did any of the drywall work in our house, or had told our contractor that Plaster & Drywall Solutions Inc was going to be the one doing any drywall in our house, because had Mike been our guy during the renovation, we never would have had the problems with our ceiling in the first place. He would have done it right. Mike Zerning takes great pride in his work, does a fantastic job, is really friendly, flexible on scheduling, fair and competitive on pricing and a great tradesman. He knows his job, period. I cannot say enough about this man. He could teach a lot of other tradespeople about what it means to be a proud, skilled professional because that is what he is and I would (and will!) recommend Mike Zerning of Plaster & Drywall Solutions Inc. to anyone without any hesitation. I found Mike on HomeStars and thought I'd give him a call. I needed my entire basement taped and mudded. He came right away to look at the job and within 24hrs he emailed me a detailed quote. I'm extremely happy with the job he did and the price I paid. I would highly recommend him to anyone and will get him to do other projects for us in the future as he is a general contractor and can do anything you need. I've found that in St Albert its hard to find this kind of professionalism- I'm really happy I stumbled across this site and Mike.

Mike was absolutely fantastic. He did great work, was prompt, and was quite reasonable. He also made an extra effort to complete the job within the tight timeframe I had as my wife was away and I wanted the work done before she got back. He worked long days and even through a 3-day weekend in order to make the deadline. Would absolutely recommend to anyone looking for professional drywall and taping.

Great work by mike repairing two ceiling holes that were cut to access some plumbing issues. Always came when he said he would and did a very professional job. Will definitely recommend his services and will uses again when needed! Additional contractor he had come to do the texturing did a phenomenal job. Cannot tell where old pop corn ends and new begins. Fast professional service all around. Top Notch!

I had modified some framing and put up the drywall for a bedroom and bathroom in our basement, but figured it was time to bring in a professional for the taping an mudding. Using HomeStars I decided to give Mike a call. He was prompt on everything from meeting to assess the job, providing a quote, and showing up each day as he said he would. Mike was pleasant, efficient, effective, and committed to the job. The finished work was great, especially considering the do-it-yourself walls I left him to work with. We are very pleased the finished work, and would recommend Mike to anyone. (And our dog also made a new friend during the week).

We found Mike on Homestars and hired him to put a thin layer of drywall over decades of wallpaper. Mike was always on time, efficient and clean. We will be contacting him again as we continue or renovations.

Mike recently finished a drywall job in our laundry room, crawlspace, and did some wall repairs. Mike was always on time, ready to work, professional and courteous. I felt comfortable having him in our home when my husband was at work. He was easy to work with, asked questions throughout the project to clarify our wishes and communicated well with us about any issues that came up. We would gladly have him back and would recommend him to anyone else looking for a reliable contractor who takes pride in doing quality work for a reasonable price. We have chosen to prime and paint the walls ourselves, but Mike offers a 2 year warranty on workmanship which gives us some peace of mind given this is our first time hiring a drywall contractor. Give him a try! One suggestion we would have to anyone who hasn't had drywall work done before is to cover absolutely everything in the room with drop sheets - it will save on cleanup time at the end as the dust manages to travel everywhere!

Really pleased with the quality of work. The walls and ceiling in my basement look new, the finished product is exceptionally good - far more than I anticipated. It was all done according to a very reasonable budget. I would definitely recommend Mike for any drywall work, he was always on time and very please to deal with.
