Barrhaven service is excellent. I especially appreciate the email updates and the owner’s sense of humour. I have never had a problem with my service. You also receive an update once your driver has completed your driveway.

We have used Metro for a total of 3 years now. Very pleased the first 2 years. We found this last winter that we seemed to get plowed a bit later than our neighbors who have another company. This pattern remained throughout the winter. We did communicate with Metro on one lste winter ice event and a plow was sent around within a reasonable time following our phone call. Over the last 3 winters we have only called them once so thst tells you something.

I have used this service for 2 years. While I own a snow blower, I am a senior with a heart condition and the mounds left after the snow plow goes by is a real strain on me to clear. They are very quick to clean the snow away and relieve my stress. They are a "life saver".

I have used Metro Snow and Ice Management for the past 3 years, and I find them superior to other snow clearing companies I used in the past. They seem to always be out first in our neighborhood, they are very reliable. Best of all, they send e-mails before and during snow events to keep customers updated on their snow removal strategy. I highly recommend this company.

I have had this company do my snow removal for my double car driveway in Barrhaven, for the past 5 winters. They have always be prompt and very efficient. They clear all of the driveway. Then they return promptly once the city plows have come by as they follow closely behind them. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for snow clearance!

We hired Metro Snow and Ice this past winter, as did several of my neighbours. Cleaning was consistently late, compared with other snow removal companies on our street. Customer care was awful and often met with agressive replies and comments. We had been with this company since it was Appleseed, with great experiences. In my opinion, lots of emphasis on their bells and whistles, and notifications (consistently inaccurate) but little time for actual job completion or customer care. Six neighbours, and myself, have decided not to hire this company this year, due to the terrible service we received last year.

I engaged Metro Snow since 2009/10 winter, then called Appleseed (8 winters). For the first 6 years, when it was still Appleseed, the service was 10/10. I did not call the company even once to address service issues. I leave for work at 7am and return around 6.30pm. The snow was always cleared before I left for work and before I got home. On a few occasions, the drivers were late, but I expected that. But not once has the driveway been missed. When it became Metro Snow in 2016/17 winter, I noticed a slight deterioration in the service level. My drive way was not cleared before I left for work, and when I returned from home. I accepted that since it was cleared, just not as early. And my driveway was missed twice and I had shoveled it. Well, Appleseed provided such great service that it had raised my expectations. I still had not called once to complain. Then came 2017/18, Metro Snow was not only late to clear snow, it missed my drive way on several occasions, one of which was heavy snow over the weekend. And on most occasions, I just shoveled the driveway since I needed to go out. And on the weekend of the snow storm, It was at least 30cm and the city came by at least twice as the snowbank at the end of the driveway was almost 2 feet deep. I emailed and called Metro Snow a few times for them to come remove the snow, waited for 24 hours to no avail and we eventually had to dig ourselves out of our driveway. We also noticed that several of the our neighbours' drive way were also missed, and they had to shovel themselves. Although Metro Snow and Appleseed belonged to the same owner, Metro Snow did not live up to the high quality service standards set by Appleseed. It is sad that the good reputation established by Appleseed diminished just in a span of 2 winters. I'm going to try another snow removal company this year to find out if Metro Snow service quality is the exception or the norm.

I have been customer for many years going back to Appleseed. The customer service has been constantly deteriorating since rebranded as Metro. 1. Metro boasts 10,000 happy customers with self-reported 99.5% satisfaction and 97% contract service compliance (from 2017). 2. Metro's customer care mission statement (as stated by the owner in another HomeStars review) seems to be - I've got a lot of customers; not many complain, I know what I'm doing, I've been doing this a long time; complaints are because of unreasonable expectations. 3. My own experience has been a constant year-over-year decrease in quality of service. Last winter, I had more late snow clearings (more than 2 days late), and two large snow days were missed entirely. I have also noticed deterioration in care shown by operators - more quick, hasty clearings. 4. This carelessness by the operators resulted in damage to my property last winter. Metro's only response through the BBB was to point to fine print in the contract that Metro is not responsible for damage close to the driveway. (Lesson learned - read the contract!) My expectations have always been pretty basic - clear the snow from my driveway after a snowfall, and don't damage my property. Metro fails on both counts.

This was a good company when it was called Appleseed. They expanded and became Metro. Now worst snow removal service ever. They are never on time, they forget your laneway, they destroy your edges, your lamppost and the drivers don’t care. The president constantly emails customers with excuses why the drivers are late or not available or how hard their jobs is. I ended up having to clear my own lane way 50% of the time. Do not use this service.
