They used to be pretty good but fell off the rails this year. This was our third year with them but after getting no service for the first two snowfalls all we got was attitude and ignored calls back from them. After fruitless efforts to resolve the situation we terminated our contract at the end of December.

Metro snow is a great snow removal company. Very reliable and efficient, would recommend this company. They have even come to do clean up even though we have had below the contracted centimetres.

This is my second year with this company. Their service continues to be excellent. My driveway is cleaned promptly after a snowfall with additional visits after the city ploughs come by. There is advance communication from the owner to allow me to move my car before the tractor arrives. Dependable, consistent and quality work. Worth every penny that I have paid. I recommend this company highly.

I've been a Metro customer for a few years, and have been pretty happy with the value I've gotten for the money. My driveway has always been clean when needed and this year they are more willing to clean out car parking spots when they come by when tidying up the berms left by the city plow. The quality of plow job isn't 100% but I also have a non-rectangle shaped driveway so that's understandable.

we have contracted with Metro for the second year after a recommendation from our neighbour. We decided to sell the snowblower and let Metro worry about the snow.. To this end we are extremely happy with the response time , communication and effective snow removal . I am very pleased with our decision to go with Metro for our winter needs and am considering contracting for there addition brining service for de-icing the driveway next year. We had one instance where the city snow plow follow up was missed but as soon as I let Ken know, the tractor was here. I recommend Metro to anyone who asks.. Kudos to the team for all the hard work .

I have been with is company both as metro and his old company name. They have always provided us with great/ prompt service 24 hours a day. Our street is very happy with the service and would not change.

We've been using Metro (formerly Appleseed) for snow removal of our driveway for the past 5 years. In that time, we have had no problems - snow is cleared promptly after 4cm (I think) of accumulation. In fact, the communication is exceptional - they have a GPS tracking service that will notify you when the tractors are on your street (so you can move your car). They also provide regular emails on days where snow is expected, to let you know whether they will come out (and approximately when service will begin). Some services may be cheaper, but we've stuck with Metro due to reliable service!

I didn't know about home stars, didn't realize I could write a review , nothing but good things to say about Metro plowing very satisfied with the service received this season 2016/17 and last season 2015/16

I am very satisfied with the service I receive from this company and will be using them in the years to come. The driver assigned to our area always makes a good job of cleaning my driveway and access to it.

I am writing this review to give an unbiased opinion on Metro Snow and Ice. Coming from Toronto and this being my first winter in Ottawa, I was unsure what to expect from a snow clearing service. I called around to a few companies and the first to return my call was Metro Snow and Ice. I spoke to a lovely young woman named Katy who was very patient with my many questions and made me feel like my potential business mattered. After receiving pricing from a few other places I decided on Metro Snow because my first experience on the phone and subsequent follow up emails with Katy really left a positive impression on me. Since then I have been nothing but happy. I enjoy having the GPS notices so I can move my car, and the one time I came out just after the truck had gone by my driver Cheryl came back for me. When I come home at night I don't have to struggle to drive over a big snow bump left by the city and that alone is worth the price of the service. The owner of Metro Snow and Ice is obviously doing a great job with both the office staff and truck drivers he hires. His informative emails letting us know his plan for a storm are above and beyond what I expected when I signed up. I'm pleasantly surprised that my first Ottawa winter has not been the struggle I thought it would be and I will be signing back up for years to come.
