    Expectation meets reality

    We hired Alex to fix the bricks and morter. Very friendly and happy to explain everything you want to know. He gave us a great explanation of the details of what needed to be done. He also pointed out less urgent work and gave us a quote with options (no pressure). He was efficient and very thorough - no short cuts. He is proud of his work for good reason.

    Entrance Steps

    Alex did a fantastic job replacing our steps and was very responsive and true to his word. Throughout the entire process he explained each step to us and informed us any changes along the way, he got the job done when he said he would and we are thrilled with the results. We will recommend him to others!

    masonary work, new fireplace and window fillin with bricks

    Alex did a great job of our new fireplace, he redid the chimney top with a energy efficient damper, and closed in a doorway to the garage

    Fireplace repaired

    After requiring unexpected work for my fireplace, I called Alex and he was quick to come out to assess the job and quote. I found him to be knowledgeable, professional and conscientious. A few days later the job was completed and I was very happy with the quality of work. Great level of customer service. Thanks Alex!

    Chimney repair

    Alex provided excellent service and takes pride in the quality of his work. He ground and tuckpointed the entire chimney, not only bricks with crumbling mortar, and installed a new chimney cap with stone sill. He left the work area clean by washing the roof, chimney and surrounding grounds and removed all debris. Alex is knowledgeable and I appreciated his advice to help us maintain going forward.

    Building repairs & maintenance

    Al has demonstrated good building maintenance acumen, saving me time and money. I'll definitely continue making Mercer's Masonry my 'Go To' contractor for future work.

    Masonry, underpinning

    Alex is a very good mason and fair with his pricing. I m a Civil Engineer designers and have recommended Alex to many of my clients and have used him on my own projects both in residential and commercial projects

    Laying

    Alex Mercer visited our site and provided us the quote for labour and material. We accepted. He sent us stone samples to choose from. We selected the one we liked. On the day he was to start work, he told us that he needed more money for the job or else we should switch from natural stone to concrete steps.
