    Erratic. Unresponsive

Needed an estimate for dishwasher repair. Service tech came promptly, did diagnosis thoroughly and I was satisfied. That was 2 months ago. Another appliance needed repair so I called them again. Explained requirements and was promised a return call. 4 days later, since no reply, I called again and gave all the details again. Return call was promised. That was a week ago. Still nothing. So I called a different repair center. and got Immediate response and an estimate.

    Max Appliance Repair

Horrible service. Schedules appointment than doesn’t follow up with repair saying could not get part. Can’t produce receipts at point of sale. This company is not ethical. Claims on web are false. Don’t carry parts and can’t do same day service. They are a phoney don’t call them.

    Dryer repair

Daniil and his team from Max appliances repair saves the day! They were punctual and courteous and were available to come on the same day we called them. Provided the appropriate diagnosis and the dryer was fixed the very next day after he gets the part. Thank you so much for your excellent service and help!

We called and rec'd service same day, and the repair man (Yevhen) was very professional and fixed the unit quickly. Highly recommend him and the company. 5 start rating for sure.

    Dishwasher repair

Was quoted 290$ part and 230$ labor, also was told it will take couple of days. After I paid for part time changed to 2 weeks, long story short after approximately 3 weeks changing part did not help and technician said he doesn’t know what is the problem.

    Washing machine repair

Do not use this company. They are dishonest, they overcharge, and they do not care about their customers. You will likely regret it if you go with them. Before you make up your mind, please read this! My washing machine wasn't working and someone from Max Appliance Repair came to my house, diagnosed the problem and told me it was a "very expensive part". I asked the cost of the part and he told me altogether, with labour, it would cost $400 plus tax. I asked for the breakdown of labour and parts and he said he would email to me. It took him 30 minutes to fix the problem. He said he would send me the breakdown via email, I paid and he left. My washing machine didn't work once he left and I opened the email and the receipt did not break down the costs. It said "repair..... $470.00". I called him and he said he would come back to fix it. I asked for a breakdown of costs again. Long story short, he came back and fixed the machine. But after 4 different receipts, I finally received the breakdown I was initially promised and it was $210 for 30 minutes of work (diagnosis and labour) and $190 for the "very expensive part". The repairman was dishonest and could have told me from the start the cost of labour, but he instead led me to believe the part was almost $400. I had to email and call the company repeatedly to get a basic receipt with a breakdown of costs. I was also charged $80 for the diagnosis but the company advertises you get the $80 diagnosis fee back when you complete the repair with them, which I did. But Max Appliance Repair charged me for the diagnosis and labour, as stated in my receipt. I asked for the $80 back and then the story changed again and they stated I wasn't charged for diagnosis even though it said so on the receipt. This company is dishonest.

    SERIOUSLY displeased!

We came home from a 3-day weekend away to find our freezer had defrosted completely. Lots of ruined food! Called Max Appliance Repair and they got a technician over within 3 hours. The technician found the problem quickly (about 20 minutes). The defrost cycle timer was broken. He had the part in his vehicle. That's the end of the good news. While he was getting part, I looked up the cost of it online: around $85. When the tech came back in, he told me the part cost was $185 and labour would be an additional $180. Considering that installing the new timer was a matter of about a minute, I thought the total price was outrageous. I don't mind paying a reasonable mark-up for parts and expect a labour charge, but $400 (including tax) for this job was outrageous. (On top of that Max Appliance adds on 3% for credit card use.) We decided not to go ahead with the repair at that inflated price. I asked the tech to close everything up, which he did. We were charged and paid their $79 + HST standard diagnostic charge. My son later convinced me that I could easily replace the part myself, so I ordered it and did the installation (simple) when it arrived today. After plugging in the freezer, nothing went on except for the interior light. The compressor and fan would not turn on. We called in a repair technician, recommended highly by a friend, who discovered after trying various things that somehow the compressor and fan had become “disconnected”. (Both had definitely been on when the Max Appliance technician had arrived.) Hmmm… Once both parts were reconnected, the freezer started up just fine and it’s running fine. Form your own conclusions as to what happened, but my STRONG recommendation is to stay far away from Max Appliance Repair.

    repair oven

Technician came from Holland Landing (why?). Diagnostic cost was $150..too high. He took the mother board out. Came back and reinstalled the same mother board. This was May 11. Aug 10, same problem with oven. MAX refused to even consider honoring the 3 month warranty. Pretty pathetic customer service and PR. $406, with NO new parts was a large price to pay. I actually had given MAX name to a few friends. I will be calling them to take back my referral!!

My dryer has heat again! Excellent service!

My dryer had no heat. I contacted MAX Appliance Repair, and was assured someone would be at my house the following day within a 2 hour window (and provided me with times that suited me). I was provided with text messages, email(s) as well with status as to when the technician would be showing up. Evgeny arrived early and did a fantastic job. He left the area cleaner than when he first arrived. He was polite, courteous, meticulous, and only advised on the part that needed replacing, and not spend more than required. Evgeny - thank you VERY much for all your help and expertise. It's greatly appreciated. I will definitely be contacting MAX Appliance if/when I have future issues with my major appliances.

    Microwave installation.

Beware of this company. I hired someone else through Homestars and this company called me later on to confirm my appointment, making me think that it was the same company I hired. They sent someone with no experience in installing a microwave. The technician drilled 3 holes to secure the microwave because he didn't measure properly. After several complaints and drillings he was able to secure the microwave properly. However, he didn't install the vent properly, now air is coming out the vent into my cabinet. I will have to hire someone else to repair the damage cause by this company. Also, they tried to charged me more than the company I hired. The company I hired was charging me $110+tax and this company is trying to charge me $180+tax for a job bad done. I guess I will have to go to court.
