WOW, what a stellar experience with Monte-Leo redoing our deck last week and had to write a review. We had reached out to about half a dozen deck contractors from HomeStars to redo our deck and just from the quote process, they were already vastly superior to the others. The other contractors seemed lazy and either did facetime or requested that we provide exact measurements to give us, what ended up being unrealistic astronomical quotes. You think a site visit would be the norm but I guess not! Some contracts wouldn't even take the job it it was under $30K. We knew that in this period of high demand for this kind of work, finding a good contractor willing to take on a small project would be hard but we lucked out. Yosef came by the house, took a look at what was required and gave us a break down estimate based on his visit. He was friendly, knowledgeable and definitely knew what he was talking about. After we agreed to the work days later, he returned to take some additional measurements before ordering the composite and brought samples for us to choose from. The demolition ended being a lot more difficult than a regular back deck because we live in downtown Toronto in a house with no side access to the back deck. Yosef and his team had to go back and forth through the house to access the back deck. This was especially problematic because we have two young babies who play on the floor. They were so considerate going in and out of the house, honestly the best guests weve had since the pandemic lol After lifting up the old wood, they found the previous deck to be a shoddy job, requiring some additional supporting joist work. The team cleared out all the dirt underneath and Yosef explained what was needed and quoted reasonable additional costs for the joist work. They even fixed the drainage and drain issue and did some foundation work to make sure everything was laid out correctly, keeping us in the loop the whole time and clearly explaining what was going on. From the demolition, to the installation, the contractors were so polite, professional and meticulous. Dont go to anyone else!!! These guys are the real deal.

Yusiuf was a professional right from our first meeting to discuss how the new deck was going to built. His team was polite, quick and cleaned up any mess that they may have made that day. The finished project is amazing and we're very happy with the results! We really cannot say enough nice things about Monte-Leo Construction. If we have another project they will be our first call, and we would highly recommend their services to friends and family.

We are THRILLED with our new fence, steps, porch and threshold. Yusuf, Yasar and their team went above and beyond in every respect imaginable, including driving to Montreal overnight to pick up our composite panels directly from the distributor, after the local retailer said it would take six weeks for them (the retailer) to get the product shipped to Toronto. We have had a lot of contractors renovating our house over the years but these guys were HEAD AND SHOULDERS above everyone else. - They prepared a proper contract. - Their payment schedule was very reasonable. - They used top quality materials throughout (for example, coated stainless steel SCREWS, not rust-prone nails or, heaven forbid, staples). - They checked in with us on even the smallest detail if there were any doubts, before proceeding. - The communication with the entire team was second to none. - They arrived on time in the morning, stayed till late in the night, came every single day until the job was done (not like some contractors who wander off to start another job and never return) and the worksite was completely tidied up at the end of each day. - They were here for more days than they had anticipated, but never complained and their work was steady and thorough, never rushed. - They were just really nice guys, and truly a pleasure to work with. - We went way over budget to hire Monte-Leo Construction because we just KNEW they would be great. It was worth EVERY. SINGLE. PENNY. SUCH a good experience! We will be hiring them again. Jay

I highly recommend this highly skilled, efficient and friendly company. We needed an old deck (and it's 6 cement and rebar supports) completely removed and a slightly larger one to replace it. Our front porch was redone as well, with some of the original supports remaining and some redone. Yusuf promptly came to look at the job and got a quote to us. He is very easy to work with, personable and knowledgeable. He communicated clearly, listened to my concerns, and shared his knowledge in a friendly manner. The crew arrived, worked long hours, and impressed me with their respect for each other. Any unforeseen difficulties were dealt with quickly and efficiently. The resulting deck and veranda were more beautiful than I had imagined. Many thank to Yusuf and his team, we are very grateful for your wonderful work!

Yusuf came to our house, did the measurements of the deck. He and his crew arrived on a mutually agreed date and the deck was completed ten days later with no major issues. Yusuf is a decent, polite and an honest young man...a rarity in all industries, especially his. I would hire him again without a question. However, make sure you have every little detail of your project/design listed in the contract, otherwise any changes will cost you a little extra as time and labour are expensive these days.

Have spent my first week with the new deck and its great. Yusuf and his team did an amazing job. Yusuf worked with me to ensure I was getting what I wanted. He and his team are very professional and when the job was done, they cleaned up everything as if they werent even there.

Excellent work. Very positive experience. I absolutely LOVE my new deck. Yusuf was a pleasure to work with. I liked him immediately. He was knowledgeable, straight forward, answered my many questions patiently, not once did I feel pressured or felt like he was trying to upsell me. We came across an unexpected issue and Yusuf and the crew spent several unanticipated hours fixing it. The finished product is flawless. The crew was polite and respectful and hard working.
