    Living Room / Bedroom Reno

We needed to update our living room and Renovate our guest room to turn it into a room for our little guy. Greg from Clean Cut was terrific from the start. He walked through the jobs with us, talked about some ideas for design and how we could do the job cost effectively. We had the ceilings stripped from that popcorn finish to a smooth surface, had all walls and ceilings painted, and had trim and crown put in each room. Final product was great and made a real difference to the house. Would gladly work with Greg again. For some of the work such as the new LED lights we put in, Greg was able to refer us to other contractors who did a great job.

    Whole home painting

Had the whole house painted after completing renos. Greg came to quote, check on progress during work, and walk-through at the end. Great guy and super responsive throughout the job. Scott & his partner are pros. This is the second house they've painted for us and I love the way it looks. I was comfortable leaving them while I was at work, and when I was home they even offered to bring me coffee back from their lunch break. I would recommend this company to anyone. The quality is excellent and the price is very fair. Also nice that their price includes quality Benjamin Moore paint. Love that this is a Bridle Path quality company happy to work in Ajax. A few of their competitors I'd contacted for a quote weren't interested in coming out to the 905. Thank you Clean Cut Painting!

    Deck Staining and Interior painting

Thank you Greg for sending Michael and his crew our way. We had the front porch and second story rear deck stained, as well as two rooms painted. The work was completed in a timely manner and we are completely satisfied with the final product. This is our second time using this company and I would happily recommend them to our family and friends.

    Whole Home Interior Painting

Clean Cut Painting painted the interior of my entire home (ceilings, trim and walls) prior to moving in. The quote process was simple and efficient and was reasonable from a cost perspective. I am very satisfied with the result and would recommend them to others. Work was completed over a number of days and the quality of the work along with the care given for the house was fantastic. Clean Cut Painting definitely know what they are doing and took what was a complex painting job (oil on stucco ceiling, trim/chair rails, multiple colors, holes patching, priming dark colors, sanding walls, etc.) and delivered both on cost and timing. Every day they cleaned the work site prior to leaving. Any touch-ups or requests were handled promptly. Great work by Scott, Kawa, Z, John and Brandon (thank you!) and thanks to Peter (the owner) for making sure the job was done to satisfaction. I would not hesitate to use Clean Cut Painting again when the time comes for more painting work.

    Painting

This week Clean Cut did a painting job for us. It was time for a refresh of the walls and ceilings and trim in our living room, dining room, hallway, and main bathroom. We also had our front step railing repainted. Greg came and did the quote for us, and coordinated with the workers on the first day. Our painters were Frank and Zdenko. Everyone did a great job getting things just the way my wife wanted it. I will happily call them again for our next painting work.

    House

I hired clean cut painting to have my kitchen, bathroom and dining room repainted. Peter quoted our home reasonably, he was fair and professional. The work was very well done by worker, Mr. Zdenko. He was very kind and precise with his work, our home looks great. He did an excellent job and I will highly recommend to friends and family.

    Condo Painting

I had used Clean Cut Painting about 3 years ago to paint the exterior of my house. They did an excellent job at the time, so I once again contacted Peter. I downsized from a house to a condo and needed to get the condo painted quickly. I only had a window of about a week and a half between the condo closing and my move date. Peter was excellent as he arranged to get his staff in the condo right after the closing date without delay. The condo was painted in about 4 to 5 days. This was a complete paint job - two coats everywhere including the ceilings. They did an excellent job, as well as being nice guys too! I would certainly recommend Clean Cut Painting if anyone is looking for a reputable, professional painter.

    Painting

We had painted most of our house ourselves but there were some hard to reach areas that we decided to hire someone to paint for us. Since Clean Cut Painting had such great reviews we decided to hire them. George came on time and I went through the areas that needed to be painted. He started painting at around 9AM. Since we were paying by the hour and it wasn’t a big job, I made a point to note the time. At around 9:45 AM I noticed he wasn’t around. I looked outside and saw that he was taking a smoke break. It was a bit concerning that he was taking a break so soon but I didn’t say anything. He came back in 15 minutes later. At around 10:30 he had gone outside again. When he came back in another 15 minutes later he said that he was just waiting for the paint to dry so he can go over it again. At this point he had only painted one area and had barely started another. He said that he wasn’t taking a break, just going outside to have a smoke and wash his face and asked if it was ok. I said Fine, but I’d rather everything be done soon. At 11 AM I had noticed I hadn’t heard anything in a while so when I went downstairs to check I saw that he was on the phone outside. When I asked if everything was ok he said that he needed a different step ladder and he’s trying to get one. He said he could go out and buy one which would take an hour or he can come back the next day to finish the job. I was pretty annoyed at this point since he had already left 3 times within 2 hours. I was also annoyed that he wouldn’t check with me first before deciding to stop working and call for a ladder, especially when he hadn't finished painting areas he didn't need a step ladder for. I said he should paint what he can without the ladder and we can talk about the rest later. His boss eventually called and said that they would bring one. Since I had the day off, my husband also booked electricians to come in. They came around 11:30 so after having spoken to them I noticed George was missing again. This time he was tying up his original ladder to his van. This took another 20 minutes. After he was done I saw him smoking in his car, so I went out to call him back to paint. Since my husband booked the painters I told him to call and talk to Clean Cut about the breaks George was taking. I wasn’t planning on tracking time like this but because I was messaging my husband the whole time to keep him updated I have a record of what and when George was painting. At around 12:15 Greg from Clean Cuts showed up with a step ladder and presumably came to talk to George about the breaks he was taking. I later heard George tell him that the job would take another hour. I was getting pretty upset at this point since his breaks pretty much amounted to one hour. After Greg left and George was painting again I was pretty happy that it would be done soon. I went down to check everything out when he was done and George apologized for taking “one 5-minute break”. I told him that it actually was more than 3 breaks and they averaged 15-20 minutes each. He then said to me “This isn’t China. I’m entitled to breaks.” The second he mentioned my ethnicity he crossed the line from unprofessional to just plain offensive. I gave him his money and told him to get out of my house. He complained that he never got water or coffee. Well, if he was painting the whole time, I might have offered some! He kept arguing with me and doubled down on the race remarks by asking if I liked living in Canada and telling me about Canada’s labour laws. I told him that I am Canadian and that he should leave. This was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had hiring someone to work in our home. I will never use Clean Cut Painting again and I will tell everyone I know not to either. I gave 2 stars because the painting was at least adequate.

    Answer from pro:

Clean Cut Painting and Decorating Corp did everything within our power to resolve this issue with the client. Several follow up calls and emails to book appointments with both parties were not returned. Our Operation Manager purchased flowers, and attempted to arrange a reconciliation in order to deal with any miscommunication that may have transpired with our painter on site that day. At this visit we were prepared to return the $200 paid for this job. To say that "I gave 2 stars because the painting was at least adequate" is very unfortunate to say the least. We have received 149 reviews of our services, and this is certainly an anomaly, especially considering the client's unwillingness to work towards an amicable resolution to this matter.
