    Sold a service contract with false representation

    I called Reliance in for a servicing of my furnace a few of months ago. They were prompt, polite and the service went well. As such, I decided to hear them out on a monthly service plan. They made me aware of the benefits of the parts and labour covered under the service contract, however, considering my furnace and A/C were not very old, I made it clear that preventative maintenance was my biggest concern. They assured me that one annual preventative maintenance call would be allowed on both my furnace and A/C. In fact, they went as far as detailing that I'd have to wait 2 weeks until I was able to schedule this first preventative maintenance call and told me the exact date to put in my calendar. I signed up for the plan at $20+ tax, however, I was busy a couple of weeks later and it ended up being a few months before I had a chance to call to book the preventative maintenance. At that time I was told that this was not included in my package and that I'd have to pay an additional $10/month for this service. Of course, I was not happy to learn this as it was made very clear to me on the sales call that this was to be included and the documentation I'd received via email wasn't exactly clear what was included aside from what parts and labour would be covered. I'd reasonably assumed that a "service call", as they defined it, included my preventative maintenance. This isn't a great deal of money, but it's the principle of it all. Why is it just acceptable that companies like this can say whatever they want on a sales call and have absolutely no accountability to support what they verbally committed to even though they claim that "all calls are recorded for quality purposes." Add to this the fact that I get at least 5 calls a week from Reliance trying to sell me more services, without any knowledge of the service that I already have from them. It had gotten to be enough that I'd blocked there calls. This whole experience is just frustrating, yet not in any way surprising.

    Replacement of Hot Water Tank

    Service on Amberly Cres today.. Excellent job and very knowledgeable.will certainly recommend your company in the future.Thank You. Also appreciate COVID concerns which put us more at ease. and clean up work at the end of job.

    Rental air conditioner repair

    Serviceman Phil was very knowledgeable .Gave good suggestions on how to save on electricity bill. He made sure our air conditioner unit was working perfectly before he left. He is very personable and was genuinely interested in making sure our unit was running as best it possibly can. I wish everyone cared about their job as much as Phil.

    Hot Water tank

    Our hot water tank was making strange noises and we had no hot water. Tech came and fixed it quickly and efficiently. Checked all levels to make sure it was safe. Excellent customer service.

    Repair

    Great service but no boot covers worn. Although on website it claims their employees wear all PPE including boot covers, etc. Especially in COVID times this should be adhered to. Fixed the problem quickly though. Thank you Reliance.

    Service call today Friday August 20, 2021

    My furnace broke down last night and called for service and supposedly technician available for Saturday but they sent me a friendly technician named Julian next morning. Julian gave me a lot of advised about the furnace for maintenance. He was very polite and knows his job very well. I would recommend him to others and next time for service I rather have him again as he was more knowledgeable of the system. Thank you Reliance HOME Comfort for the good service.

    AC

    Had problems with water on the floor of the utility room beside the furnace and hot water tank. Called the Reliance 24/7 service centre and the agent arranged for a technician to arrive the same day. The technician recognised that the issue was a poor installation of the drain piping from the coil condensing unit and advised that the temporary repair could prove ineffective in the long term. The technician had a local home comfort advisor visit the same day and the decision was made to replace 26 year old AC unit. Replacing the ineffiecient unit and its non ozone friendly refrigerant was a sound decision.

    Old hot water tank replacement

    Fast friendly service. Made sure to clean up after. Excellent people to deal with. Made sure that runners were on the floors and stair to make sure not to damage hardwood. Would recommend Kirk (installer) to friends and family without thinking. Keep this guy he shows pride in his work.

    Yearly heating and air conditioner maintenance

    Jalynn was extremely knowledgeable and courteous. He cleaned and performed a tuneup on the furnace and the air conditioner. Everything was completed quickly and efficiently. Reliance has made me a happy customer

    Installation of AC, Heating System, Thermostat

    Dealt with (4) people from this company. All very professional, competent, helpful and personable. Great ambassadors for your company.
