    Don't rely on Reliance

On a Wednesday I requested a service appointment for Friday morning. On the Thursday, they emailed me to say they couldn't meet my request and had scheduled me for an EVENING appointment between 7AM and 11AM????? on Friday. I contacted them for clarification and was told "Sorry you're appointment is actually for next Tuesday between 7am and 11am" ..... Hmmmm! Tuesday came and I waited patiently at home for someone to appear. At 11.30am I received a call telling me they were very busy, could I reschedule for next month??? After telling the caller that my AC was not working, I was told they would try to fit me in later that day. About an hour or two later they called and told me I couldn't be scheduled in until 8 days later. I declined and called another company who came in and solved my problem, the next day.

    Hot Water Tank

We have been without hot water for two days and I have been trying to schedule a service appointment. I would call and sit on hold for hours and then get disconnected. I tried to book service online and the website was down. When the website came back up I booked an appointment for the next day and waited for the email to confirm my booking...it never came. I tried this several times. I finally got through to customer service after 45 minutes on hold and booked a service call for the next day between 7:00am and 11:00am and was told the tech would call before arriving. It is now 11:40am the next day and I have not received a call.

    Air Conditioning repair

I have the Reliance complete Maintenance package and it has worked great in various opportunities as they provide an A+ service from the report of the issue to the resolution at the home of the customer. It's 100% valuable to any person who is looking to have piece of mind when it comes to the HVAC systems in their home.

    Air Conditioner Repair

We returned home on Friday to find our air conditioner not working. Our house was extremely hot. I called reliance ( I have a protection plan) and when I finally got through they advised they could attend on Monday? I asked for q sooner appointment but was told Monday was the best they could do. I was forced to called another company who came to my house within 2 hours and fixed the problem in a jiffy. For such a big company Reliance should have more staff working both in the office and on the road, especially during a heat wave. When I tried to cancel the appointment I had to wait 1/2 hour on the phone to get through. Very poor customer service.

Faulty Installation, screwed up appointments, miscommunication & lack of follow-ups, no solution

Ref: RCS7637833 BBB Complaint case ID: 1337965 I am a furnace & AC rental customer of Reliance Home Comfort since March 2016. As the >30C heat wave hit GTA in May, we found out that our air conditioner did not work, where the compressor had no response when I turned on the AC. An appointment was made with Reliance on May 25, where a technician showed up and did a thorough inspection. He concluded that the system was not being installed properly. He explained that we were renting an energy efficient two-stage system but the installers only set up a single-stage one for us as they did not provide the correct wiring. We were told to schedule another appointment to fix the issue. The technician left after disabling our system, including the fan (which made the house very stuffy). Right after the inspection, I called to arrange another appointment and was told that a technician would come in on May 29. However, there was no show after I waited an entire afternoon. Then I checked the appointment email where it says May 30 instead. I immediately called the service dept and was surprised to hear that my appointment was moved to June 03 instead! What seemed like a simple repair appointment was somehow scheduled with 3 dates… with much confusion and miscommunication, and without any confirmation. Later that day I spoke with the supervisor and was given another appointment date on May 31. This time I wanted to make sure there be no mishap so I called their service dept, and they confirmed with me the exact same May 31 appointment date over the phone. Then came following morning, I received an appointment email saying someone be coming on June 01. I was shocked and angry how they totally screwed up this whole scheduling. How could there be 5 different dates given for one service appointment, and still no service is made? So I called their service rep and was told June 01 (but no trace of the previously promised May 31 with supervisor). I was told that a supervisor will call me back but I received no call at all. My 2-yr-old daughter who just started up a flu, had experienced aggravated symptoms in such heat wave without proper temperature control and ventilation in the house with high humidity. Her worsened health had caused her twice to the hospital ER. We ended up relocating as our home had become inhabitable. At this moment, no solution is provided and no clear communication is made. I have lost trust to anybody I speak with from Reliance. Another issue… As we signed contract with Reliance 3 months ago, we were told that we would be given an incentive ID so we could proceed with the rebate process. During these 3 months I contacted Reliance 3 times (twice over phone, once email with sales rep) for the ID and received zero feedback. I am deeply disappointed and furious with Reliance’s services. I have lost all confidence with Reliance as it seems that their services and professionalism are obviously empty and absolute failure. I am fed up with being circled around and still no service date can be firmed.

    water heater

Worst service. I called to report a technical problem tonight at 10 pm May 29. Unfortunately a technician is not available until Wednesday June 1st. They advertise that a technician will be available to fix the problem within 24 hrs...this is my 4th time I've called and 3 out of the 4 times a technician does not meet the time frame. I have 2 young kids and guests that cannot use the shower and on top of not meeting their promise they try to push for more service recommendations. How insensitive and unprofessional.

No show technicians, long phone waits, terrible customer service

I booked on Friday for a call on Monday for a furnace repair. Call was for between 7-11pm. Tech didn't show up or call. When I called Reliance (after waiting 45 mins), I was told that the tech won't answer his phone and that they would have to book for Wednesday. Bullocks. I need a new furnace and AC and will be going elsewhere. I will be terminating my service plan tomorrow. You're absolutely terrible Reliance and everyone I know will know it.

Just try to get a warranty repair done despite the hold music

First coolant leak and 30 mins of hold music later I scheduled an appt from 7am to noon for the next day. From Reliance's website "Our technicians aren’t just trained to fix any model of furnace or air conditioner, they are trained to deliver a great customer experience ... A promise to call ahead " -noon came around and no one called or knocked. -I had to sit on hold for another 20 min to find out that the technician is behind -new estimate was they would be there in 40 min -70 min after an no phone call ahead of time the tech shows up. Earned the 1 star for filling up the coolant and telling me to clean up the AC (fair suggestion) With the AC blasting for 4 hours, the house only goes down to 25C. I give until over the weekend. Monday rolls around and I'm on hold for another 30 min at work, scheduling another appointment. I'm given another timeslot from noon-5 pm. I'm getting a good hang of this now. 5 pm rolls around, no call. At 5:30 I'm on hold for another 30 min to find that they tech got the work order so he should get around to it today. 9 pm and I'm on hold for another 45 min. They tell me... looks like they wont be able to get to it tonight. 3rd time, 3 hrs on hold and 12 hrs of waiting is the charm right!

    Poorest service ever

Air conditioning is blowing room temp air. Needs a recharge? Phoned RHC and was promised a tech visit on Sunday. Stayed home. No one showed. No call. Nothing. Call RHC and after waiting on hold for half was told they had overbooked and was promised a tech visit Monday between 1-5 pm. No one came, no ph call nothing. Called RHC again. After 46 min was told sorry but they were really busy. Offered to send someone Friday from 10-1. Really? RHC cares nothing about customers. Their phone personnel fabricate stories and this company is only concerned with taking your money and putting you off until you pay a legitimate HVAC company to show up and correct the problem. Thankful this wasn't winter and no heat. No accountability. Expect you to take days ( plural) and meekly wait until they actually remember to send someone. You cashed the cheque RHC, now earn it!!
