    Water Tank Upgrade

I purchased my house 9 months ago and have been dealing with a lack of hot water ever since. I have had 4 Reliance technicians/trusted advisors look at my tank and give me options. All of which included upgrading my 40 gallon tank to a larger tank or a tankless water heater. Each technician/trusted advisor left stating they would follow-up with me directly, however none did. No call backs, not even notes left on my file. Not to mention the 2 furnace technicians sent to take a look at my tank, and clearly had no idea what they were doing. Finally, after 9 months of refusing my 9 year old a bath (as it would only fill half way before running cold), I called again to have someone come out. The next day, promptly at 8AM as advised, Philip Sirek, a Reliance Trusted Advisor arrived.. He might as well have been wearing a Superman cape! Within minutes of being in my home, he identified that the temperature was turned down on my water tank. 9 months, multiple technicians/advisors, and it came down to simply turning a knob?! Philip encouraged me to test it out for a couple of days, but that if I still felt I needed a bigger tank he would return within 2 days and have it installed. I've since called him back to let him know he fixed the issue and I no longer needed a larger tank. He seemed genuinely happy for me. Philip was polite, punctual, efficient, and appeared to be an overall great guy. As I write this review, my 9 year old is bathing away in a full, hot, bubbly bathtub. Thank you Philip Sirek (Superman)!

    Air Conditioning

Tim Terpstra a Reliance service technician came to my home to repair my air conditioner which was in-operative. Mr. Terpstra was very pleasant and quickly diagnosed and repaired my system. Once repaired he checked its efficiency. I was pleased with his professionalism and service.

    water heater

Avoid this company if you can! I had a contract with a different water heater supplier for a house a sold nearly 5 years ago. The contract was transfered to the new owner. This company went bankrupt and Reliance Home bought it's assets and it's contracts. More than 3 years after owning the house Reliance starts taking money out of my account for a house I no longer own. I suppose it could be an honest mistake in the tranfer from the other company but Reliance refuses to take care of the problem. After several phone calls, emails and promises to resolve the issue I am forced to take other. If they can't resolve an issue like this where ididn't even enter in to a contract with tem, what will the be like to deal with if you actually enter into a contract with them and have a problem?

    Heat Pump System

I reached out Reliance and immediately was contacted by Darryl Cherry who was very informative and understood out situation. Darryl came to the house and we went through the issues and then Darryl provided recommendations that led us to the rental of a Heat Pump system. It is great that I actually have AC now when I need it and looking forward to some reduced costs and additional heat is the winter because we currently have an Electric furnace. Darryl was very courtesy and would recommend Darryl and Reliance to my friends and collegues. Thank you for making this a positive experience.

    AC Furnace Water Heater

I signed up for a rental with Reliance - AC Furnace Water heater. At first things where not installed to my liking, but the service manager came out and had Reliance redo everything to a top notch job! I was compensated very fairly as well. Thank you to Bill Whitmell and Wes Ronbeck for the wonderful installation and to Mario Angeloni, Lawrence McLean and Mike McArthur for the customer support. Mike Hall

    Hot water tank repair

Our hot water tank was only working intermittently. Matt M. DAA1920 arrived from Reliance the same day we phoned to repair it. My wife and I were impressed when he pulled cloth "booties" out of his work bag and put them over his work boots so he wouldn't dirty the floor. He was very polite and professional and had the problem rectified in short order as well as making a couple of adjustments so the heater would work more efficiently. He was also very knowledgeable about other equipment that I inquired about that Reliance rents out. Reliance is lucky to have a pleasant young technician like him represent them.

    Hot water heater repair

After calling about an issue with my hot water heater, Jordan Chartier (DAA 3298) and Lance Yorke arrived at my home to repair my non-functioning water heater. They both donned 'slippers" over their workboots and proceeded to the basement. After some diagnosis and phone to their technical centre they isolated the problem to a malfunctioning switch and quickly rectified the problem. Both men were professional and friendly throughout their visit. Both my wife and I would recommend them highly.

    New AC & AC Servicing

After several quotes from other suppliers, I went ahead with Tommy Gianitsopulos (Reliance home comfort) quote as well as suggestions on what to choose to change existing builder installed AC. My experience with Tommy was excellent and to date he does assist me should I have any issues. However, the AC installation itself was faulty and being a non technical person, I did not realized this for many months. The AC never did function the way it should but I thought it is normal. When I discussed the quality of cooling with Tommy, he promptly suggested a technician visit. Mr Robert, the Technician was amazing. Straightaway identified the error and advised replacement of TXV valve. For installation of TXV valve, the senior Technician - John Saliba visited us this morning. After a thorough examination, he found several installation defects including TXV valve. He replaced the valve, tested the AC, the airflow and even checked the Furnace to ensure all programing is correct. The net result is - for the first time, after one year, I really came to know how good this AC is. Mr John Saliba is a brilliant engineer and because of his expertise and advise I received, I have no hesitation to recommend Reliance to others and to my friend circle. A combination of Tommy, Robert and John is the best combination one can have to solve their AC requirement and maintenance. What did not work well: My first call to Customer Service was really bad. The lady hung up on me and never came back. The first appointment for Technician visit never materialized and I never got a call from Service center either. I had to alert Tommy and he promptly re-arranged the Technician visit. After this, I started getting several notifications from Reliance. My last call with Customer Service Lady - Sana was very good and she did sorted out all the issues. Not sure why Reliance installation crew installed a lousy TXV valve in the first place and why Reliance, having the knowledge of this defective part did not advise them to use a better component.
