To whom it may concern at Reliance Home Comfort,
On Oct 22nd, 2014 after having some issues with my hot water tank I called Reliance Home Comfort to come review my hot water tank and hopefully advise what to do with it or fix the issue (Issue was that the pilot light kept going out and thus loosing hot water) The Technician at the time advised that the existing tank has essentially run its course and was near or at the end of its life expectancy – So I quickly agreed to replace the hot water tank with a reliance rental unit –
An appointment was scheduled with the Tenant’s for the following weekend as they are both extremely good people, have jobs – and we ultimately settled on a Saturday morning appointment from 8:00-1:00
- The service technician showed up to install a tank and quickly said that an air/vent test was required prior to installing the tank, This technician appeared to be less then helpful to the tenant and was quick to leave not offering much assistance other than that he could not perform the test.
The tenants called me the following Tuesday to inquire if Reliance had gotten back to me as there was a new action item indicated by the last technician and that Reliance was going to get a hold of me – I had not received a single call from reliance, I was very upset, due to the fact that I thought the issue was resolved and taken care of, when in reality it was pushed off and passed to, I’m assuming another department, or ‘other’.
Then the tenants and I had to reschedule and again figure out what time they would sacrifice to allow Reliance to make a return trip to – and get on with the process. This time I was very clear with the knowledge that I had learned that we needed a vent test – So I clearly indicated to the phone attendant that we needed a vent test and hot water tank installation.
Again we opted for the Weekend appointment as they again both have jobs and cannot really justify to take the time off work to accommodate Reliance’s disastrous planning and lack of communicating to their subsidiary testing companies,
Believe it or not, a technician/installer showed up and unbenounced to him there was a requirement for an Air test….. I was not there at the time, the tenant called me immediately as I was certain this time it would have been a slam dunk for reliance – but NO THIS WAS NOT THE CASE YET AGAIN! I spoke with a reliance phone rep at this time and he suggested that a sub-contractor would be in touch with me….. this never happened until I called reliance again ….. the following week.
This actually occurred/cycled three(3) times!
At this point the tenants have been extremely patient with this, and somehow understanding, But I had enough with Reliance and the disruptions, and started to source a hot water tank by other means, given that 4- 5 weeks has passed since the I had started down this ridiculous path with Reliance, We are in the Christmas season and very few hot water tanks installers are available on such short notice
Last Week after another episode with the Hot water tank – When I was thoroughly perusing another installer when I broke down and Tried Reliance again, for a service on my Furnace – this is where we met Chris B. a very knowledgeable technician, and extremely understanding of this situation, and did not want to leave without setting up some sort or rectification to this situation….
So here we are tenants inclusive, now into 2015 still with no Hot water tank in this town home unit - after the initial appointment was held on Oct 22nd 2014, I truly Need Reliance to come to the table and make good on all the disruptions in my Life having to Deal with such inability to schedule and even somewhat follow through with a plan,
AND
Make good on all the Disruptions in the tenants Lives, schedules, and quality of life as a result of Reliance Home Comfort…. This is totally inexcusable.
I will be posting this entire email on the ‘Write a review’ component on the Reliance Website, as, at this point I’m not even sure what else I can Do
One thing is certain this needs to be rectified tomorrow. I need a vent test completed, and following a vent test I need a hot water tank installed. Tomorrow. I don’t think I have overstated anything regarding this simple hot water tank installation – although this needs to stop and a new hot water tank to be installed.
Call me to discuss – I would like to hear from someone first, prior to 9:00am so I don’t have to go through your phone system for the 7th …8th time and explain everything, yet again.
