We hired Oborne Contracting to help us re do our basement. While it was finished, it was not very kid friendly and practical. Oborne did a fantastic job and the end result is a multi purpose room with a full play area and entertainment centre. The kids toys can be put away for entertaining adult style come the evenings. Everything from beginning to end was top notch. The service, the delivery, the installation, down to the little details were all taken care of in a timely and professional manner. Thank you John!!

We had the misfortune of finding our basement apartment sink cabinets molded through. To save on cost, we did the removal and began the cabinet assembly ourselves. Needless to say we did not have the know-how to finish and were worried that no contractor would take on such a small job. We called Oborne because of the positive reviews on Homestars. On the same day as we called, Colin came by to quote out the job and they were able to come in the following week to do the work. I was out of town so my fiance looked after seeing them in. On the day the work was to be done, I got a phone call from my fiance telling me how blown away he was by the professionalism and quality of work done by Colin. I got back into town later that night and WOW! It looks amazing! The cabinets are perfectly aligned and straight and it was completed on time and on quote. I was also impressed that I received a call after the work was done to verify once more that we were satisfied. In a word, we're thrilled!

We had a door installed in a block wall. John and his crew were courteous, prompt, tidy and did an excellent job. They are a pleasure to have around. John is always available.

We have hired John on two seperate occasions to do work at our home. The first was to upgrade the electrical and build a great closet and window seat in the master bedroom, we were working with very tight time contraints between taking possesion and moving in and John and his trades were pleasant, efficent and right on schedule. We have since hired John to do a complete basement reno that included lowering the floor, rebuilding the back walkout, underpinning and waterproofing as well as all of the finishing work. We are very pleased with the results. I think that there are a few things about John that set him apart from others in this business. One of the key things is transparency, John will give you a very detailed quote explaining both how and how much it will cost to complete the job and he does a great job of sticking to it and also explaining up front the costs associated with making changes\upgrades on the go. He has assembled and excellent group of trades that are very likely the best in the business, for example his lead electricin trains the inspectors that work for Hydro, what more could you ask? One final point is that John responds to his customers in an extremly timely manner, often in fact before I would have completed my voicemail. John takes great pride in his work and his workers and in maintaining a great relationship with his clients long after his obligation to do so has passed. We had an emergency plumbing issue in our basement (self created I may add) and John responded on a Sunday afternoon and did everything in his power to help us rectify the matter, which it was. We will indeed be using Oborne again in the future.

John has integrity and forthrightness. His crews work as a team and are very respectful and his work area is always clean, orderly and on schedule. I would recommend him without worry.

Pretty tough to sum up all of John's great qualities in 30 words. Suffice to say, we would not hesitate to recommend John for any job, and in fact, we will be hiring him again very soon.

My rental property in Toronto needed waterproofing and a separate entrance created for the basement. John did an exceptional job - the finished product is terrific. He kept within budget - dealt with the city - left a clean tidy worksite and took a load of worry off my back since I live out of the city. His attitude was great - obliging to my neighbours - considerate to my tennants. I was more than pleased. Great work.

John and his team were great. Throughout John was very patient, helpful and open to discuss a range of options. Above all, he is extremely committed to high quality and client satisfaction, and went to great lengths to ensure we were happy with our basement. John was also very fair and transparent on pricing - you know what you're getting, what it costs, and why it costs what it does. For people like us, who are new to renovation, John was a perfect fit. We've found our contractor for life!

I had a leak in my basement for years and always let it go until recent wet weather forced my to take action. That is were John came to my rescue. He provided me with a detailed price and timeline. His workers were great and the job was done on time. I have no more water in my basement and it looks like there was never any. Thanks John for all your help and service.

John was able to help with a couple of small but potentially tricky projects. We needed a small wall removed and refinished at the bottom of our staircase. This was to allow better access for furniture. The second was framing a hall closet and installing new updated doors. John took on the job when other contractors I called would not. I'm glad this happened because John and his staff were exceptional in every aspect of the job. I met 3 of John's staff, Roy, Colin and Damien and all were very professional, friendly, helpful and skilled. The quality of work was also exceptional.
