From the estimate to completion, The Avonlea crew were fantastic. Dom, Brian & Jay are hard workers. They were always there when they said they would be. They always cleaned up after the days' work. Dom always talked us through any confusion, & was very diligent overseeing other tradesmen. We continued to live in the house while renos were going on, & they were great with safety (we have small children). They were always pleasant & cheerful! Despite unforeseen issues, the end cost was very close to the original estimate. We're planning a bathroom remodel & are definitely calling them back.

We hired Avonlea to convert our shower to a bathtub/shower. They made it look like the tub was always there, patching the floor tiles and matching the floor grout colour and the shower grout to the existing backsplash grout. The tilework in the shower is beautiful. They were clean, courteous, and went above and beyond, even patching our kitchen ceiling where there was water damage from the old shower leaking down. I couldn't be more pleased with their work. Both of the owners are great to work with, and the employee doing the work was friendly and his work was outstanding. I'd definitely call them again for other kitchen/bathroom work.

We decided to convert our basement laundry room into a combined laundry and full bath. We interviewed several contractors and John from Avonlea stood out as being very knowledgeable. He also had no issues working with a permit - which surprisingly many contractors don't want to touch. The job started on time but we ran into an issue when the floor was opened up to do the rough ins. Due to the location of the existing drain we weren't able to locate the toilet where we had initially wanted it. Also at some point the existing plumbing stack had been modified in a way that no longer met code. John immediately scheduled a meeting the next morning at my house with himself, Domenic, and Clive (who did all the work except the plumbing). We figured out a new design and John gave me a fair additional cost for fixing the existing stack and reframing a wall to make the room a bit bigger to account for the new design. After that the job went along perfectly and we are very happy with the results. What impressed me most about Avonlea was the communication. John never took more than a few hours to respond to my emails - even though I probably asked more questions than any other client for such a small project. This was gave me a lot of confidence in the company. Clive also clearly took a lot of pride in his work and it showed in the end result. I definitely recommend Avonlea for your next project.

I have nothing but glowing comments for my recent reno with Avonlea. Out of the 4 quotes I received for the original job, I'm so glad I took the road to Avonlea. John was great to deal with, and always quick to respond to questions and dealt openly with the usual quirky issues that come up with renos in old homes. Domenic was also terrific with innovative solutions. Special kudos to Gabriel who was the artiste who created beauty out of ugliness. A big THANK YOU!

John and his team renovated 2 bathrooms in our 80 yr old house. We made changes on the fly and ordered custom items which meant that John had to schedule in his people to come back and finish some work. It was done pretty much the next day after the custom items were installed. Great service. Also very competitive pricing and great workmanship. I would hire them again in a minute!

It's been almost 2 years since the renovation and we are happy with the way our kitchen was done. John took the time to listen to our ideas and answer our questions. He was a great communicator before, during and after the renovation. The crew that came to our house were good workers and considerate. We have recommended Avonlea to others.

This company does what it says. It shows up when it should, the estimate is very close to the finished cost and their different trades know their stuff. I also contracted Avonlea for a complete bathroom reno in my other house 5 yars ago and they were great.

Avonlea did a fabulous job with our bathroom renovation. The project started on the exact date, it was finished 3 days ahead of schedule, all waste was quickly cleaned up, costs were as quoted, and most of all, the bathroom looks amazing. Everyone from the team at Avonlea are great to have in your home, John is up front and honest with pricing, and they were responsive to changes and questions. I highly recommend.

Avonlea renovated every major area in our home with 3 separate projects. We had our basement, 2 bathrooms and our kitchen renovated, always at a reasonable cost. John, Domenic, Olympio and Gabriel were reliable and highly skilled at everything from plumbing to electrical work. Their tiling was beautiful and they finished all work on time. Our house was transformed as a result of their effots. We couldn't be happier.

We have used Avonlea twice - once for each of our bathroom renovations. They arrived on time, did a fantastic job creative, very functional and amazing tiling, and it cost us exactly what they quoted.
