complete kitchen renovation and new floors on main level

Dear Dennis I am writing to thank you and your colleagues for the recent complete renovation of my kitchen, and the remainder of the first floor of my house. It was the largest renovation I have done, and consequently I spent a lot of time researching, planning, and getting estimates from contractors. It became clear to me that I only really had to get one decision right – the choice of the contractor. If I got that one right, everything else would be fine. Every day when I walk into my beautiful and functional kitchen and living room, I see the proof that I made the right decision when I chose Bryant Renovations. The project manager, Stepan, and the entire crew, are exceptional. The level of skill, expertise, and pride they bring to their work is outstanding. Everything is now up to code, and their attention to detail produced a beautiful finish. Their consistent courtesy, politeness and respect for the fact that it was my home and not just a job site meant that it was always a pleasure to see them. Stepan and his crew have a strong sense of responsibility for their work. What could have been the biggest problem of the renovation in fact turned into one of its best features because of the responsible way in which they responded. A subcontractor damaged the new floor in the kitchen. I was concerned about this but uncertain what to do. Without a word from me, Stepan recognized the problem, told me that it was not up to your standards, and offered me several options. The option we took was a significant improvement on my original choice and is one of the great successes of the renovation. You turned a problem not of your own making into a success. Again, my thanks for the great job. I have started making notes and saving for the next round of work on the second floor. Your company is a keeper, and I look forward to working with you again. Best Steven

    Home repairs and renovation

I want to sincerely thank Bryant Renovations for helping my family begin a path to address overdue repairs and ultimately renovations to our home. We have been burned in the past with frankly, unethical contractors so it has meant so much to find people we can trust. Over the past year, we have had a number of challenges/unknowns to face each step of the way. However, Reid Dennison has been outstanding in his professionalism, his ability to work within our budget, and working with us on manageable solutions. We began with exterior repairs to the second floor back room extension. Reid did a beautiful and thorough job replacing and bolstering the wood as needed, adding insulation, and installing new siding, tiles, and a window pretty much exactly as we requested and discussed. Given this experience, we have since continued onto a careful and deliberate path to the address the interior house repairs and eventual renovation. We have had Reid do demolition on the inside to expose and address pest and water damage in the main floor and basement. He is respectful of our property and is so tidy after each job is done. We have much work ahead of us. It has been stressful as many people can relate to but the work is made significantly less stressful due to the high standards that Bryant Renovations clearly expects of themselves and their respect for their clients. I look forward to working with Reid and Bryant Renovations to help us reach our goals for the home. I would highly recommend Bryant Renovations to anyone who asks! Linda Toronto

    complete home reno

We hired Bryant Renovations to do a complete renovation of our home and was very pleased with their service. Having to strip the house down essentially to just outside walls was a huge job, but the service remained neat, on budget and in a timely fashion. The work was completed a little behind schedule, but considering there was a city strike at the time the inability to obtain permits was hardly the company’s fault. All in all a fantastic experience.

    Renovations

My son recommended Bryant Renovations to me and I was happy he did! After working with them on multiple occasions I found them to be a first class company. A small disagreement over city regulations led to some frustration, but the issue was remedied and a discount was given as compensation for the aggravation. All work was done in a timely manner within reasonable budget expectations - once again, a first class company.

    new kitchen

We hired Bryant Renovations to completely gut and redo our kitchen. In only 6 weeks we had exactly what we wanted. The work was timely and reliable. We were slightly over budget, but this was due to materials we wanted not being available - hardly a reflection of the integrity of the company itself.

Two major renovations: First floor redone, and New front porch/windows/trim

I have hired Bryant Renovations for 2 large jobs in the past 10 years, one building a completely new front porch and replacing windows/wood trim, and the other redoing the first floor of our house including a new kitchen, powder room, wood floor, and creating a new side door, window openings and basement access. Overall I was very pleased with the experience. They were very responsive - for example when the new door latch didn't work they quickly arranged the manufacturer service call. Some of their subcontractors were fantastic, while others were merely average and had to re-do some work when I pointed it out. I would have liked to see more consistency in that area. Otherwise, the work was high quality with competitive pricing and all the timeline expectations were met without issue.

New Front Porch, Concrete Walk Grading

We hired Bryant Renovations for construction of a new wooden front porch on our Victorian Semi in High Park. We worked with Trevor, he was very professional and helpful. The porch looked great in the end and the re-paving of our walkway was really efficient in grading the property for proper rainfall drainage. They did a really nice job.

redo main floor in living room & dining room, open up and finish back room, install skylight

The best contractor I have ever used. Efficient, attentive, clean. A great job. We have had numerous compliments from friends and visitors, and requests for the company name. It was a relatively complicated job, extremely well done, and completed within the estimated time.

    Kitchen Renovations

Let me just say that I have NEVER had so many problems as I have had with these people!! I needed the kitchen cupboard doors replaced. I TOLD them I wanted the work FINISHED by May 1, 2007 as I leave town for the summer. I was assured it would be done by then. It is now July 18 and after many unpleasant experiences and delays, it is NOT YET finished! They installed FAULTY doors and had to remove them and take them back and make NEW doors to replace later. There was even a door that was a total MISFIT. Obviously it would appear to be a very careless and incompetent company. I would NEVER have anything to do with them again!

I have been in renovation contracting for over 30 years. I am licenced, responsible, and fully qualified. I am known for my honesty and high standards of quality. I invite people wanting to know what my company and I do to go to our website. Under “About Us” on the website is a brief bio of me. Under “Qualifications” is an article from Canadian Contractor, where I am a featured contractor. My qualifications and approach to renovations are detailed there. I further invite people to look at the variety and quality of our completed projects. Because I respect and listen to clients and then carry out what they wish, I can work with those whom other contractors would find difficult—but not always. The cabinet doors for Mr. L. tried my patience and his. Mr. L. is right that the custom cabinet doors made by the cabinet company did not meet his standards. Nor did they meet mine. I returned them to the cabinet company. Once the mistakes in manufacture had been made, Mr. L.’s and my time expectations could no longer be met, since one cabinet door had to be remade and the others fixed. It takes from 4 to 8 weeks for custom doors to be made by manufacturers. I allow for that timing when planning projects, but sometimes kitchen work must be delayed when custom cabinets or cabinet doors fail to arrive in good order at the right time. Mr. L. and I needed to work together to get his project finished to the standards that we both expected. Mr. Little did not want his cat to go into the cabinets, and the old doors could not be used. Mr. L told us not to take the new doors away to be fixed when he and his cat were living in his apartment. We worked with Mr. L.’s summer schedule, when he and his cat spend time away. I scheduled to meet Mr. Little’s needs not to have the doors off the cabinets during those times in the summer when he and his cat returned to Toronto. Now we were in the very busy renovation season. My carpenters were all occupied, but as soon as Mr. L.’s doors were ready, I pulled a carpenter off his job to pick up Mr. L.’s doors and install them. When we unpacked the doors, we discovered that one door was faulty. Mr. L. and I were now feeling frustrated. He didn’t have his new cabinet doors, and it was taking a lot of my time to negotiate with the cabinet company and with Mr. L. to suit his schedule. I was determined to complete his job well, and I thought we were working together. As soon as the correct door was delivered, I took a carpenter from another job to install it. The job is complete and the doors now meet our standards. Mr. L.’s email to HomeStars was hurtful and unfair. His emails to me have become inflammatory. He says that if I expect to be paid, I will have to sue him. That is not the way I do business. Bryant Renovations
