    Tree Removal

We had Craig come out to remove a large tree from the property that was splitting down the main trunk. His customer service was far above any of the other arbourists that we had talked to. His guys were quick, quiet and cleaned up after the job was done. Would definitely use these guys again.

    CB Tree Service

CB Trees has provided great service for approximately 15 years. The latest was in August 2016 when Craig and his crew cleaned up a large fallen branch and trimmed some cracked branches.. Thanks for a job well done!!!

CB Tree saved my fence (and probably my neighbours house)

A few weeks ago I was hanging out on the bench in front of our house at around midnight, when a storm started brewing. Winds picked up quickly and I started to see some lightning in the distance, so I though it was time to head inside. Just as I was going in, my wife came upstairs asking why i was making so much noise at midnight. I told her she was imagining things and to back to sleep. She was adamant that she heard a loud crash and beer bottles dropping, so I took her to the back to prove that there was nothing wrong. It started raining pretty hard so I took her to the back window to prove that everything was fine, and she was imagining things. It was much darker than usual and we couldn't really see anything from the window. I went to the screen door to get a better look and I figured out pretty quickly why we couldn't see outside. A huge branch (like 30' huge) had snapped from our walnut tree and the leaves were pressed up against the window that we were trying to look out from lol. We literally started laughing at the site, as that was the 3rd tree that had fallen in our backyard since we bought the house 7 months ago. We're pro's at handling this type of issue now, so it wasn't a big deal. 2 days later, the branch above the one that fell also fell. oh oh. The tree was still standing straight up though, so no big deal. The day after, I was out back and noticed that the tree was starting to split (from the point of the second fallen branch), and it was starting to lean towards the back fence - and my neighbours house. I better call someone ASAP. My neighbour gave me Craig's (from CB Tree) number so I gave him a call. A lady answered the phone and I explained what was happening and that I really needed to get someone to my house ASAP before my tree falls onto my neighbours roof. In my professional opinion (I did cut up 2 tree's on my own), I gave it 1 or 2 more windy days at most before the tree snapped Craig called me back and said he would stop by that night after finishing an emergency call in Oshawa. A few hours later, Craig and crew showed up (I swear I heard superman music in the background). He took a look and said he couldn't take the tree down that night because the crew was exhausted from a long days work, but he went up and tied a few superknots to help secure the top of the tree from falling, until he could fit me into his schedule. Being that it was an emergency, he prioritized my work and showed up 2 days later. Game day. When Craig and the boys came on the Thursday, I took half a day off of work to watch the walnut tree come down (it still hurts that I had to take down this beautiful tree - but he saved me the 15' trunk, which will turn into a live edge dining table). It was amazing to watch Craig and his crew do their thing. It took the whole afternoon for the tree to come down, but they managed to get the job done without any issues (except 1 tomato plant that got squished lol). He was even nice enough after 5 hours in the tree, to fulfill a few special requests for some thin biscuits off the trunk which I can use to make some cutting boards! I couldn't be happier with the service Craig and his crew provided and I'll be having him come back after the summer to take down another tree that's starting to push my garage over. If you're looking for a tree specialist, give Craig from CB Tree a call. I'm confident that you won't be disappointed.

Grateful Neighbour Saved From Imminent Disaster

You have found Craig, consider yourself VERY lucky. Like a good mechanic or barber, once you find one ... NEVER let him go. Here is the story ... As a result of the storm recently with high winds on a Friday, a neighbouring 80+ ft Black Walnut incurred serious damage. By Sunday, serious splitting of the trunk made it dangerously close to falling on our house. No resources were available until Monday and Craig answered the call. Due to location of the tree, specialized equipment was required and all attempts (private and public) to secure it proved futile. Craig did not give up. He dug deep in his years of experience and despite not wanting to climb the unpredictable tree, he did, as everyone knew that time was of the essence. Single handedly (with ground assistance from Tom and Steve) he secured (by strapping) the parting limbs about 40 ft up and then proceeded to cut branches that would have caused serious damage. A heroic effort indeed. All breathed a sigh of relief. Not out of the woods just yet, next steps are to mummify the base up to the split, cut the upper limbs down to the strapping, and then finish the job in an orderly fashion. So if you have an emergency situation (or not) with a tree, and want someone who is methodical, skilled, efficient and won't create any collateral damage along the way, don't call the town operations dept, or the fire department or even your insurance agency first to get help to proactively prevent a disaster, call Craig (CB Tree Experts). You won't be disappointed. Thanks also to my neighbour who cared about our safety and took the necessary action.

    Service

Being a repeat customer of CB Tree Experts, We would highly recommend Craig and his crew. My first experience was what lead us to call them back again. The professional treatment starts right from the first phone call. Craig fully explained what to expect and we got exactly that. What impressed us the most was the clean up. If we didn't know any better (and a tree wasn't missing) we wouldn't have thought he hadn't been there yet. No mess.. no leaves, twigs or saw dust... We highly recommend CB Tree Experts

Most honest and reasonable contractor I've dealt with.

I am a repeat customer who was very pleased the first time around and even happier when I used him this time. This time around I used Craig to remove 2 trees, grind 3 tree stumps and prune 2 large trees. The work he did was clean and very well done and price is always more than reasonable. He even took the time on more than one occasion to discuss and give some advice on potential tress to replace that I had asked him about. It did take a while for us to connect because he got very busy removing trees for people who had emergencies and other appointments but as soon as I told him that we needed it right away he made sure to put me the next day. So I will likely use him again soon to plant new trees for me. He offered to go to the nursery and pick up and install which is comforting knowing that he will be taking care of the entire job. Craig is very personable and great to deal with in a world where not all contractors are. I plan to use him whenever I need in the future and it would be great if all contractors had the same integrity.

    Tree removal

We had recently purchased a new house so I called Craig from CB trees to get a quote for removal of a tree at the front of the house that was blocking the front window and basically the entire front of the house. Craig was very quick to come and give me a quote and came back in a week and they removed the trees and the stumps completely and trimmed some other trees for me. I was very happy with their service as they were quick and efficient an cleaned up after they were done. I can now enjoy the street view from my front window. Thanks Craig

    tree limb removal

We had an ice storm on Thursday March 24 which broke a large branch off my tree at the front of my house, the branch landed on my roof and hung there. The next day was Good Friday/Easter weekend so I was unable to call until the Monday. Craig was very accommodating and said that he and his crew could come that very day to take the limb down. I had to leave and by the time I got back, all the work was done, everything cleaned and no damage done during removal. I was very impressed with the service, efficiency and accommodation given to me. Thanks very much, Craig. I will definitely recommend this service.

    Saved my cedar

There was a micro-burst storm yesterday and I was the unfortunate recipient of a massively damaged tree. Not just any tree, one of my treasured 100 year old cedars in the backyard. I wanted it cleaned up but more importantly, I wanted to work with someone who would help me to salvage it if I could. My neighbour recommended Craig and his team as he had worked with them in the past. I also checked them out on HomeStars - great reviews (and here comes another one). I called Craig this morning and left a message. He called back quickly and was at my house by 10:30. We agreed on a game plan - he was going to be able to save my cedar, do some shaping and put it on a good path to recovery - what a relief. He made a commitment to me to return this afternoon with his crew. Even though their truck broke down, he had it quickly repaired and kept his promise to me. The clean up took about 3 hours and in that time they cleared the debris, chipped the scraps, chopped some pieces into firewood, stacked the firewood and saved the larger pieces for me so I can have something beautiful made for my home. Additionally, the fallen limb was resting on the phone wires (of course). The team worked delicately around them and were able to NOT disconnect my service - no small feat. Except for a slightly wounded deck and some obvious marks on the cedar, you would never know what had happened just the day before. I will be calling CB Trees for all my tree needs. Why? Because they're AWESOME - professional, knowledgeable, meticulous, diligent and fairly priced.

    Answer from pro:

Wow! What a nice review, thank you very much. I'm glad we were able to save the tree, I know how much it meant to you and how much history you have in that yard. Over time the tree will recover and the canopy will eventually thicken where it is sparse now. Applying fertilizer in the fuure will help enrich the soil and improve the overall growing cinditions for your tree. We look forward to returning to prune the maple later in the season after leaf curl and all the best until then. Thanks again, Craig.
