We hired Margarida from an Ad we saw in a decorating Magazine. Her website won us over and we hired her to redecorate our bedroom into a romantic and elegant retreat. She listened to what we were looking for and was able to incorporate our existing bedroom furniture in the design. The color and bedding she chose were tasteful and elegant. The co-ordinating drapes, lamps and side chair she recommended gave our room a beautiful finished look.As a result we love spending time in our new retreat. Margarida is truly an expert in her field.

A neighbour recommended Chic Decor to us and we are thrilled by the sevice and ideas we received. We had Margarida come to our house for 2 hours and do a consultation. She was very warm and easy to talk to. I had a list of questions, ideas, and trouble areas and Margrida had comments and ideas for everything. She made recommendations such as a different paint colour in our family room to match our current couches (so that we didn't have to buy new ones). She gave us little tips like needing to lower our art and light fixtures. She even told us exactly where to put each potlight and the exact measurments of a flagstone patio down the road. She has a great eye for detail and came up with solutions I would never have dreamed of. She has a contemporary style if and is perfect if that is what you are after.

Margarida helped us through a number of decorating projects in our house - from flooring to furniture and curtains. Her style,for us at least, was understated and contemporary - good taste, harmonious colours, and attention to little details. She was particularly good on following up with the accessories that really make the room - and did a lot of shopping on our behalf. I'm happy to recommend her.

Margarida is amazing! She came to my house a couple of times to give me advice on different rooms of my house. She helped me with colour selection, accent pieces for my kitchen, family room and dining room, artwork, etc. She is honest and she will tell you if something works or doesn't work in a room. She helped bring colour to my family room and dining room. It looks and feel so much more cozy.

Well well these designers are great. They came to my home and redesigned my whole living area in such a nice way that it looked cozy and warm, yet in the year 2009. My friends and family loved it and the cost was great. I have refered this company to many of my friend and reletives. good job

Margarida helped me select all the items at the builder's decor centre. In order to make the best selection that suits my life style, she first spent time with me understanding what I like and don't like. She paid attention to the details, which no one else notices. As excited as we were to be new home-owners, we were also a little overwhelmed by how much needed to be done to decorate our house and make some of the rooms more functional. We decided to seek the assistance and guidance of an interior designer and chose Margarida after reading so many positive referrals for her on HomeStars. We decided to focus initially on our family room as this is where we spend most of our time. We wanted to make it a comfortable, fun, multi-functional space. Margarida helped us select a sophisticated yet fun colour palette, addressed storage needs to hide the clutter of a two year old, and also designed a desk to be built in to an existing alcove. She came back to us with quotes for the project and lined us up with a terrific carpenter (Ewan Cameron). The addition of a valance to dress up the window in the room also had a huge impact. Margarida coordinated this for us – she shopped for the fabric (she selected fabric samples I would never have thought to look at but which are a fabulous complement to the rest of the room), and then arranged for the production of the valance with a sewer that she recommended. We are thrilled with the new look and colour in the room, the reduced clutter and the improved functionality. We would not hesitate to use Margarida again in the future as we tackle new renovation projects. Throughout our dealings with her, she has always been punctual, patient and extremely professional. We highly recommend her.

I originally found Margarida of Chic Decor through HomeStars and was impressed by all the wonderful reviews she had received. I now understand why reviewers are so generous with their comments; Margarida went above and beyond my expectations in terms of commitment, reliability and of course the end result which is fabulous. After living more years than I care to admit with mostly second hand furniture or old and very tired pieces that I had bought, I asked Margarida to design the spaces in my living and dining rooms. Although I had originally thought I wanted one particular style, Margarida was astute enough to recognize that the spaces and my own taste lent themselves to a different style than I had originally anticipated and that's what we happily went with. She helped me choose everything from furniture to wall paper; paint colours and lighting fixtures to accessories. I was happy at the different options that she presented but also with the fact that she would willinging give her opinion when I was indecisive. Quite frankly, if I had to do it over again I would let her make all the decisions as she has a real eye for it and can visualize how everything will play together. The result, as I mentioned is spectacular. I now have a living room and dining room that I feel proud to entertain in. Many thanks to Margarida for giving that to me.

My experience with Chic Décor was amazing. This is the first time that I have used a consultant and it was definitely worth it. The colours that Margarida chose for our home are warm, inviting and add flow to the house. Her keen eye is able to pick out the subtle characteristics of the permanent fixtures of the room and blend them together with the paint colour. Not only did Margarida consult on the paint colour, but as we moved from room to room, she made an abundance of suggestions about all aspects which were invaluable. I will definitely have her back to continue to make our house into a real home!!
