    Home Inspection

After looking at reviews on HomeStars, decided to give Brent a call to get my home inspected. Brent returned my calls right away and was prompt when he showed up. Right away he noticed things that I didn't see and he carried himself in a very professional manner that showed in his work. The inspection gave us the peace of mind with our investment and I learned a lot from Brent as well. I would highly recommend him and book him early!

Thank you so much for the review James !!! I really appreciate you taking the time and doing so. I'm glad that you were happy with the inspection. Yes, I do try and make the inspection a learning process as well. I mean, come on let's face it, a home inspection can be boring unless there's some real good stuff (you know, like a roof caving in). So to make it more interesting for the both of us, I like to have us all "learn" about the home. People tend to be more interested and share different stories with me. I can actually learn from others as well! Again, thank you James, and thank you for choosing Classic Home Inspections!

    Home Inspection

I don't really believe god, to be honest, but I think this is the only way you can truly understand my feeling. For me, one of the first time home buyer, Brent is an angel whom sent by God! I found Brent from HomeStars and I am so glad I found such a wonderful site. I've spent hours reading through most of those 117 reviews and I fully believed Brent is the one. The rest was so simple and smooth. Brent's arrived at the house early than my agent and I. During that 3 hours, Brent was just like my brother. He's showed every corner of the house, he's explained every problem or potential problem. He's told me what could happen in 2 years, 5 years or more than 10 years. He's answered every stupid question I've asked. At the end of the inspection, my heart was full of appreciation. I gave Brent a hug, with tears in my eyes. Thanks, Brent!

Good greif Libin, thank you for that review! However, I certainly don't think I'm an "angel from God" I do believe in God, but I'm just a simple home inspector. I'm glad you were happy with the inspection! Buying your first home can be a very exciting time! With that comes the stress! You were obviously quite happy with your purchase, and you should be, that was a super nice home for a super nice couple! I'm glad that you have used the Homestars website. I think it is a wonderful tool when looking for a tradesperson. Thanks again Libin, and thank you for choosing Classic Home Inspections !!! P.S --- THERE ARE NO STUPID QUESTIONS!!!

    Inspection for purchase

Brent performed an inspection for a house at 412 Duplex that we intend to buy. He was most professional; he was accommodating, friendly and answered our questions fully. He took great pleasure in providing superior service. In short he provided truly exceptional service and was a pleasure to work with. I couldn't recommend anyone higher than Brent.

Thank you so much for the review and kind words Keith. That was very nice of you. I am glad tht you were happy with the inspection. I can only try my best. Many cases that seems to surpass people expectations of a home inspection. To me, it's what I feel is just part of the job. Keith, always please feel free to contact me if you ever have questions regarding the report or the home itself. Thanks again, and thank you for choosing Classic Home Inspections !

    Home Inspection

We bought a 19 year old kinda custom home in north whitby. We were a tad overwhelmed with the purchase, brent did a amazing job going threw the home with a "fine tooth comb".He found little things that we couldn't even see because we were so wrapped up with the purchase! Brent made us feel very comfortable in a very un-comfortable time,"buying and selling is not fun"!!! I will feel very comfortable referring Classic to any of my friends or family...

    Answer from pro:

Thank you so much for the review Joe! It certainly means a lot to me! Buying and selling homes can be a stressful time. Sometimes the unknown of a purchase can add to that stress. I like to have the buyer understand exactly what is going on with the home. Good things, bad things, and somewhere in between. When a person understands things, it tends to put some sense back into their life while helping them make a sound decision. Having them fully understand the home is my goal. I wouldn't leave the property until everyone understands everything. I am glad that you were happy in the end. Thanks again Joe, and thank you for choosing Classic Home Inspections!

    Home Inspection

Brent completed a home inspection for us on a resale home in Brampton. He was very thorough examining and auditing the house, explaining in detail while we walked (and climbed) through the house. He was able to identify all the issues and determined their severity (although there were very few with this particular home). I was very impressed with his knowledge base in all aspects of home structure/cabling/etc. It was a pleasure to have Brent complete our home inspection and I would have no issues recommending him. The positive reviews speak for themselves.

Thank you Clarence !!! I really appreciate you taking the time and leaving a review! I am glad that you were happy with the inspection. Yes I love it when people are as "hands on" as you were! It makes the home inspection so much more fun! Hey- who thought home inspections could be fun! Thanks again and always feel free to contact me if you ever have questions, and thank you for choosing Classic Home Inspections!

    Home Inspection

After living in my home for a couple of years, I've noticed things that should not have been missed on the initial home inspection. I've had contractors in my house with similar opinion. The items that are wrong with the house I purchased should have been caught by a home inspector. 3 months after moving in, we discovered mold in the master bathroom due 25+ year old grout in the shower, along with incorrectly done caulking. The mould buildup was behind the shower wall, so I didn't expect him to break tiles to point this out to me. Last Summer, we had hardwood flooring installed in the carpeted/laminate floor area of the house. Its a bungalow, and after ripping out the old flooring, to our surprise, the contractor found holes in the subfloor in one of the bedrooms. These holes seemed to represent a railing for a staircase. The contractor asked to have access to the basement, where he discovered the section under the area in question was closed off by drywall outside of a few cutout holes (unfinished area). After opening the drywall, I discovered a full second staircase that was closed off and filled with construction waste. The floor joists have also been cut to make room for this staircase. I'm unclear whether the structural integrity of the floor has been compromised. I tried contacting Brent twice by phone with messages, and once by e-mail with no response. I need to him to at least follow up on his initial inspection and tell me whether the floor joists being cut are safe, and done in a proper fashion to put in this second stair case. I don't expect Brent to cut holes in drywall and damage the previous owners property. But as a professional home inspector, I do expect him to notice a section of the basement drywalled off, and at least bring it to my attention, and allow me the opportunity to get information about it from the home owner. This defect is now quite costly to repair, not to mention I have a pile of construction waste in my basement that needs to be removed. Below is my initial review: Brent from Classic Home Inspections is a class act. Great guy to deal with. Honest, extremely professional, and genuinely caring fellow. He took almost 4 hours looking over the house, going through step by step explaining every detail to the point where I was comfortable. I came out of the home inspection with confidence in my purchase. Thanks Brent, a job well done, but I'm sure you knew that already.

Thank you so much for the feedback and kind words Nozar! No, it was your enthuasium which made that home inspection go so well. I love it when people shadow me and ask a zillion questions (not that you did, but it wouldn't have bothered me if that was the case). Nozar, it makes for a more interesting home inspection for me too when people take that kind of interest in it. Do you know that some people don't even bother to show up to the inspection? Anyways, I'm glad that you are happy with the inspection. That's what matters to me the most. Thanks again, and thank you for choosing Classic Home Inspections!

    Pre-Purchase Home Inspection

I strongly recommend Brent (Classic Home Inspections) for anyone looking for a home inspection. I called Brent based on the recommendations on this site and I am sure glad I did. He did a thorough job of inspecting a 100+ year home and took the time to explain everything to me. I am the first to admit that I know nothing about home repair, and throughout the inspection Brent put everything in easy terms for me to understand. Also, he is very honest about what needs to be repaired and when. He gave me great advice on who I should and shouldn't hire for the job and what I need to consider when selecting the contractors. Overall Brent is very professional and knowledgeable. So if you are looking for an honest and thorough home inspector I suggest giving him a call.

    Answer from pro:

Thank you for the feedback and kind words Rick !!! It is much appreciated! I love inspecting old homes. Quite frankly, the older, the better. In many cases with the older homes, it's not just looking at a 100 year old home, it's looking at a 100 year old home with many tales to tell with all the different renovations that have gone on! In most cases with older homes, the structure is fine, it's what people manage to do the the home over the years. It's almost as if they are better off just leaving things the way they were. People knew how to build houses back then, so why do some people try and make things better? Anyways, on a positive note, your home looked to be okay for the most part. Thanks again Rick, and thank you for choosing Classic Home Inspections!

    Home inspection

Ahhh the home purchase process, never a boring or dull moment. The time came for our home inspection and I was referred to the homestars website by a friend. I was suprised to see Brent having over a hundred reviews and all of them with a 10 star rating. Brent was such a pleasure to work with! Not only is he an professional with his approach to his work but he's also quality person with a great sense of humor which most people may not care about but I welcomed as we went through the home inspection. Thanks again Brent, friends who will be needing your services in the coming months will be calling you up!

Thank you so much for the review and kind words Neil and Lindsay!!! It is much appreciated! No question about it, that was a real gem!!! You should be quite happy with your first home! I wish all homebuyers, esp the first time home buyers, could find a gem like that one. Upper Beaches in Toronto is a good area for doing home inspections. A lot of the homes have been beaten to death with poor renovations. Not this one though. A good solid older home. I had a good feeling just walking up to it! Certainly a good looking home. However, just like a car, looks good from the outside, but lets pop the hood and take a look at the mechanics. Thanks again Neil and Lindsay, and thank you for choosing Classic Home Inspections!

    Home inspection in Bowmanville

Brent just completed a home inspection for us in Bowmanville. He was right on-time (even early) and was very friendly. He always offered up intelligent information about the house as he was inspecting it, and any questions that were asked were answered with expertise. Even though there were some cracks in the foundation, Brent was able to tell me that they were correctly fixed and fixed well. If I had a question or concern about something I saw in the house, he would take the time to fully investigate it until I was satisifed - even if I was being super paranoid! I would gladly recommend Brent to any of my friends, and hope to use him again when purchasing our next house - thanks Brent!

Thank you so much for the review and kind words Tim and Amanda!!! It is much appreciated!!! You know Tim, paranioa seems to be running rampent right now. Esp, with all those tv shows that like to scare everyone regarding things around the home. No question, there are many things to worry about regarding a home, it just seems to me though that nowadays everyone is paranoid of everything. It's a wonder we even get out of bed in the morning, of course in bed, you have to watch the bedbugs and bacteria that is sitting on the sheets that will get you. I do try and be as practical as possible. Some cracks are worth worring over, there are ones that you should be loosing sleep over, and yet there are some that are just simple cracks that can easily be fixed. To me, that was a super nice Bomanville home. I think you both should be quite happy with your purchase. I am glad you are happy with the inspection! Thank you again, and thank you for choosing Classic Home Inspections!
