    Kitchen, Bathroom Renovations

We recently had the pleasure of working with Shaun on a kitchen and bathroom renovation in our condo. Shaun worked with us to get the design and layout just right. He was professional from start to finish and able to come up with a design that we were very happy with and met all our needs. We are thrilled with both our kitchen and bathroom renovations and it was our pleasure to get to know Shaun as he guided us through the entire project as well as met our timelines during the Covid pandemic. We would highly recommend Classic Kitchens and Shaun for your project renovations.

    Total kitchen replacement

I had done my homework and research and found this company had great reviews on several sites. I was prepared to compare several companies but, after meeting with Ana, I needed to look no further. She was so helpful and personable. She made up a full kitchen design and spent hours of time with me without any guarantee that I would be using KCC for my project. When I signed on, she acted as my project manager arranging the contractor, appliance purchase, countertops and flooring company. Her professionalism, attention to detail and passion for my project were outstanding and made everything go smoothly. The cabinets are beautiful. They are high quality and I appreciate all the extras: glass cabinet inserts over the beverage area, pull-outs for the pantry, spices and garbage/recycling, crown mouldings. I also appreciate that the cabinets are made in Canada. I would highly recommend this company and especially Ana.

    Entertainment center and bar

After getting some quotes for my renovation I just happen to be drive down Dundas in Mississauga when I saw a sign for Classic Kitchen design. so I stopped in at the showroom there I met Shaun and we talked about my bar and entertainment centre design. He then got back to me a couple of days later with the design and price and found his price to be a lot cheaper then other quotes. So I order the cabinets from him got them in the expected time frame and his installer Bogdad put them in love the quality of the cupboards and the install was great he took the time to make it right. I also needed some stone work done for my fireplace and bogdan recommended Igor who also did agreat job. So over all it looks great and am quite happy with it.

    Upgraded kitchen peninsula

We wanted to add some additional cabinets to the back of an existing kitchen peninsula, and replace all the existing cabinet doors and drawer fronts. This was a very custom job, since we were trying to match existing cabinetry as seamlessly as possible. Maribeth was able to work with us, and offer options to make the project quicker to finish, and less expensive. Overall, I’m very pleased with the final product.

    Absolutely Clueless

If you are reading this review please do not give these people any money! We met the staff of Classic Kitchen Designs at the Home Show in Toronto and all I can say is that they are smooth talkers. We are in the middle of a full home renovation and living through it. Hot plate here, microwave there and a fridge in the middle of the mess. After contacting different kitchen companies, my last call was to Shaun at Classic Kitchen Designs. He was into his sales pitch right away and in a way I appreciated he was eager for our business so when I got him our rough measurements for our layout of the kitchen I never thought it was going to turn out so badly. He went away on vacation, first off telling me it was only for a couple of days, but then it turns out it was for a week. When he got back and called me, we agreed to set up a meeting and come out to his Mississauga location. Odd, considering a designer should be coming out to view the site and confirm measurements, but he had his reasoning. When we met him, he was again right into his sales pitch telling us how long they have been in business and that they own the factory in Winnipeg, blah blah blah. We sat down and he showed us a mock up of our kitchen. His vision, but it was completely wrong from the get go. He sat with us for about 3 hours in total redesigning the whole thing and finally came up with a good plan. In the middle of the design session, his wife called asking about picking up the kids or something. We didn't think too much of it, but thought oh well life happens and here he is working with us and not home with his family. After the session was over a couple of days later he sends us a contract and requesting that we pay $1600.00 for the design that he came up with. We were already behind schedule and didn't have time to start looking all over again and thought that this was the best layout as compared to other designers. I paid him the $1600.00 and this is when all the problems started. We asked for the detailed drawings of the layout and he said he didn't have them as he was waiting to get his installer, or the person that was going to install that we had to pay separately, come to our home and finalize the measurements. After he came, we were to get the drawings withing a day. That didn't happen. Monday morning came and I spoke to Shaun, and we get, I'll have them to you by noon. Didn't happen. Tuesday, came and went, nothing. Wednesday, my wife calls, as he didn't pick up my call and told her by noon. Around 1pm, I receive a call and he tells me that he lost the drawings. I said, "Print another set". He goes on to say that they are hand drawings to scale. This is where I get suspicious and ask him for 3 references. He tells me when he receives the 40% payment for the order is when I will get references. We did have a meeting scheduled for that days so we kept our meeting believing we would get the drawings. He greets us all agitated. At that point I turned on my recorder on my phone as I wanted everything verbally documented. Before the meeting started, I looked up a few things about Shaun. Not only does he run Classic Kitchen Designs, he's a Realtor with a Remax. Explains a few things as to why he couldn't take calls or couldn't produce the drawings. I started the conversation by asking Shaun, if your business in kitchens is so successful, why would you need to be a Realtor as well. His response, "I need two jobs because my wife doesn't work." Really, so when your wife called asking if you could pick up the kids while you were with a client, she was too busy doing what exactly, since she doesn't work! This next one is classic. He sent us to a local appliance store because he kept insisting that the appliance measurements were wrong. When we arrived and the sales clerk and store manager asked who was asking for the measurements and we told them, they said to not deal with Classic Kitchen Design. So we returned and Shaun finally produced the drawings on scale paper. Measurements were wrong, it was barely legible. Truly a joke. That was it for me. I asked for a refund and he said there wasn't going to be one. I contacted Visa and disputed the amount. I finally received a call from Shaun's father, Wes and he left a voice mail message telling me he would refund the money, but went on to explain on his voicemail that maybe there was a mis-understanding and that they don't actually do any designing. So why then did your son charge me for a design. I have always taken reviews with a grain of salt. Not anymore. After reading some of the reviews I have experienced for myself how terrible a business like Classic Kitchen Design is. They also operated Cabinet Outlet Depot a division of KCC Toronto. I'm so happy we didn't go any further with them. BLWL Follow-on to Company Response. Maybe I should post the audio from two recordings on Social Media and let the public decide who was abusive. If I was verbally abusive, why would you want to offer another designer to work with us. Also, I still have your voicemail Wes. The voicemail where you state, "We don't do any design work and there was a mis-understanding. Would you like me to play it back to you?? Read the other reviews.. Mine isn't the only one that gives a low rating. And use what design concept?? It was a chicken scratch and Shaun couldn't figure out how to put a microwave into an island. Hand drawings went out 10 years ago. Ever hear of 2020?? And any design concept was our idea not Shaun's

    Kitchen Renovation

Classic Kitchen Designs renovated my kitchen in 2004 and did a very good job. But that is not what my story is about. Earlier this year I had a problem with some of the cupboard doors peeling. The owner, Wes Kehler came to assess the damage himself. Without hesitation he honoured the warrantee and contacted the manufacturer. He had all the damaged doors replaced in a timely manner even though that particular style had been discontinued. The new doors match perfectly and I am very happy. Because Classic Kitchen Designs is a family business they take pride in their work and go that extra mile to satisfy their customers. That is why they have remained in business as long as they have. A friend recommended them to me and I would not hesitate to recommend them.

    kitchen

May 2014 deposit & contract for Kitchen install, timing July 19. Revised to Aug 13 due to manufacturing delays of cabinets. On Aug 13, Classic Kitchen arrived to install. Here are some open issues we experienced and are still open as of this date 1) missing door hardware which we were told needed to be ordered (not told back ordered) 2) cabinets were crooked 3) hardware of drawer defective 3) Fridge was binding to panel due to a spacer that was not installed well 4) the ceiling and walls were damaged. 5) saw dust from cutting and drilling were not cleaned from floor. Many left inside drawers. 5) pencil marks on walls were not cleaned 6) drawer front of wall oven and microwave not secured 7) top of cabinet not secured 8) kick plate not install to spec needed to be removed to allow counter top water fall installation. 8) drawer binds. 9) one cabinet that swings up needed to be adjusted (someone had drawer fall on their head. 10) One of the cabinets arrived were damaged and had to be reordered. 11) spice rack and rack dividers were not installed. 12) shelves were not installed. Both my wife and I have called repeatedly to address these issues. We both believe that we did not have our calls returned on a timely basis nor were our concerns adequately addressed. Spoke to the owner of the company, who had advised me that there are standard processes in place to address deficiencies and his involvement creates more issues than it resolves. Unusual comment from the owner. Received a call on Sept 19/14 for service claiming a missing part will not be received until next week. I advised we have been without a kitchen since July and there are enough issues outstanding that a install / service call should be made prior to receiving the missing parts. Was told I will be contacted later. Received a call back, Oct 3/14 is the best date for a service completion. Please consider the timing of the project from the original install date to the proposed correction of all issues. July to Oct. We are a repeat customer. We are not happy with this experience. Classic kitchens, through their own admissions, "dropped the ball". We have been offered only apologies but little else. Would not use ever again. The kitchen is still not complete as of this review.

    Kitchen

Very disappointed in the customers service that Darcy provided us...we received a beautiful kitchen but the finishes took forever to complete, Darcy did not even have the class to reach out to us if we were satisfied in the finishes also my husband had to complete what was not completed, Darcy needs to educate himself when it comes to customer service...do not paid in full hold back 10 percent before paying in full

    Kitchen design, renovation & installation

Two years after Classic Kitchen Designs did an incredible job on my tiny, galley kitchen, I get rave reviews and complements every time someone sees my new kitchen for the first time. The room was opened up when the bulkheads were taken out of the kitchen and it was doubled in size by removing a wall that separated the eat in area. Cabinet installation was painless and professionally done by an expert that trimmed the cabinets to Cadillac standards. A small design change was required because of a change in fridges. No drama at all. The designer worked miracles with the lay out, giving us almost 25 feet of counter top in our 8 x16 space. Wes & Darcy have provided superior service and stand behind their product 100%. Highly recommended if you're in the market for a price competitive kitchen or bath installation and renovation.
