Update: I revised my original rating to reflect my satisfaction with the original job performed. That, and after reading this post, the new office manager (who seems to care) called to discuss my frustration. My issues still remain in the lack of return of phone calls or emails once the job is done. Ian and his crew came out to landscape the front of my house - they installed a new parking pad, laid stone on the verandah and built a stone wall around the front landscaping. While we are satisfied (although not overly so) with the job, if you need ANY sort of follow-up or repair done, you can forget it. One year after installation, the driveway required some touchups, and some of the stones had shifted. It required multiple phone calls to even get a hold of Ian, let alone have someone come out and repair the work. Additionally, we tried to have Jude do some plant landscaping to the front of the house. We gave her a very modest budget of $1000 (it's a small space) and a list of plants we wanted planted. She just wrote all the plants down that I named, not even once recommending that certain plants (we would later discover), were completely unsuited to the front of the house due to sun exposure. She came back with a quote of $2,500! (We later went to a garden centre and for $50, got a detailed design plan specifically for our home, complete with sketch, and 10% off plants). Two years later (June 2012) and a major interior renovation later, our contractor's machines damaged some of the stones on the front parking pad. He tried to contact Curbz to PAY them to come and repair, and Ian was less than helpful. In the end, the contractor called his own landscapers who were in and out in no time. This company has left me with a sour taste in my mouth. Beware the positive reviews. Customer service ends when the final bill is paid. I would *never* recommend this company. Don't let them tell give you excuses about the negative reviews. There are enough companies that do care about good relationships - if these folks don't care, find someone who will. STAY AWAY.

We contacted Jude and her team to create a front and backyard garden as well as re sod the back yard of our home. She was great and assisted with our garden design and worked with us on achieving it all within our budget. The crew was courteous and very professional. They all went above and beyond to assist with any inquiries we had. We had several other quotes for the work but I have to admit we could not be more satisfied with Jude and her team. Once the work was completed they removed any garbage as well as cleaned and washed the entire property. Two weeks later Jude returned to the property to plant an additional vine and place an armour stone she had promised us in one of our garden beds. I must admit my wife and I could not be happier with the project and team. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for landscaping help!

We found Curbz on Homestars back in 2010 when we were looking for a contractor to replace our front walkway/retaining wall. It was in such bad shape it had already fallen apart and had a huge gaping hole. We were initially looking to simply rebuild the walkway with the same pink interlocking bricks as we had no clue whatsoever about landscape design. The contractors we initially met with (at least the ones who bothered to respond) also seemed to have no clue about landscape design, offered no design ideas, and couldn't care less with our "small" project. As soon as we spoke with Ian, we knew Curbz was it. We were so impressed with Ian's enthusiasm, professionalism, passion, and ideas for our project. He got us to think more creatively with our space and suggested we use flagstone and armour stone, He came up with several design options that looked amazing. We decided to take the plunge and go for it. His crew came out and worked extremely hard, in unbelievable summer heat at times. They were very friendly, professional, courteous and took care to ensure our place was cleaned up at the end of the day. The end result - a stunning, gorgeous walkway that looked far more expensive than it cost. In fact, Ian went above and beyond and added more features (at no additional cost to us) as the project went along. Curbz cares for its projects like it's their own - it really shows. Curbz is an excellent company with excellent customer service, very highly recommended. We were so impressed with their walkway in 2010, we decided to take another plunge and re-do our backyard, front patio and front fence this year. This extensive reno is currently in progress. I will post another review with pics once all the work is done, but so far its absolutely stunning...

Update March 26, 2012-Further clarifications from Curbz-the "non-responding" perception was created by email mishap. Curbz advised us they have recently implemented a call back and tracking plan so that they can track calls/plans/dwgs in a timely manner. March 20, 2012-Curbz appeared to be responding at the beginning; however, once we paid the design fees, it was very difficult to get a hold of them. It’s been 4 months since we have sent them comments on the design and we are yet to receive a quote…

Found them through my cousin as he reccommended them to me. We had a problem with drainige for our walkout patio andwater in our basement, and ian didnt sell us services we didnt need and helped fixed our problems.

After moving into my new house, I wanted to re-landscape the front yard and do some work in the back yard. The crew were friendly and the project cost as quoted. They removed the old retaining wall and ground cover and added a new retaining wall in the front yard, and added a new raised flower bed in the backyard. They also prepared a base for a new garden shed. Quality work.

We had been putting off finishing our overgrown backyard for a couple of years now, mostly because I was having trouble finding a landscaper I wanted to work with. When I met Ian he was so easy to talk to and knowledgeable I knew he was the right person for the job. Then we got to work with Sylvie who did the drawings, Joel and his crew who leveled the ground and meticulously added the stone and grass, as well as Jude and her crew who advised us on what to plant, everyone involved was really professional, friendly and took pride in their work. We were concerned about the dryer vent being underneath the stairs but Joel knew exactly how to fix that for us, it was such a relief. We were so pleased with the work they did, we have received so many compliments, we are truly the envy of the neighbourhood. Everyone is waiting for the weather to get warmer so they can come over for a bbq. Our backyard is finally the beautiful oasis we've always dreamed of. Thanks Curbz!

Ian and his folks did an amazing job on my front and side yard! Right from the start, we felt very comfortable with Ian. He presented us with several options that totally worked within our budget and more importantly made the MOST of our budget! He also impressed us because his crew actually finished on schedule and on-budget (when does that ever happen)! His crew, from Sylvie who designed the front yard to Joel and Dave who did all the stone work and Jude who created the front garden - were all amazing and super easy to work with! Special kudos to Joel and Dave who recreated the front and side yard of my house with all the lovely stonework they did! They basically ripped everything out and rebuilt it! I now have a beautiful front retaining wall with an elegant and inviting curved entrance way to my stunning walkway which leads up to the front porch that they also rebuilt! Everything now looks unified and simply gorgeous! And did I fail to mention, I LOVE the stonework - Joel and Dave worked their magic on a challenging project as my house sits on a slope and isn't exactly square to the sidewalk, but they were able to make everything look perfect! They also did the work on the water drainage system on the side of the house which was very well thought out because it basically created an irrigation system for the front garden and back yard - a total bonus! Lastly, Jude did an amazing job with the planting. She created a beautiful perennial garden with lots of colour and texture that will bloom all season long! But more importantly, the plants are easy to take care of and maintain as I am a novice gardener! I can't wait for the spring to see the garden come to life! Many thanks to Ian and his crew for the amazing job they did! Total worth every penny!! I would gladly recommend Curbz to anyone!

We had a ranch style wooden fence for many years around our corner lot. After years of maintenance, it was time for the fence to come down and we wanted something new with little maintenance. Ian had the plan and suggestions for materials. Joel and Dave took down the old fence and put up the new iron fence. We are thrilled with the new look. Our property was spotless the entire time work was going on. Our thanks to Ian, Joel and Dave! We would definitely call Ian again when we need some landscaping done.

We had a very unique space to work with, which brought along many unique quotes. When we contacted Judith at Curbz she was very interested in our vision and achieving it within our budget. She was extremely helpful and thoughtful when it came to choosing shrubs and flowers that would work within our space. The day the job was completed, we found that her staff were very friendly, knowledgeable and organized. We constantly get asked who did our garden, to which we enthusiastically respond Curbz!
