    Furnace repair

Woke up to no heat on the coldest morning of the winter to date. Called Enercare and were informed that a technician would be at our home between 11:00 and 3:00 pm that day. At 1 pm the technician arrived and promptly told us we needed a new part which had to be ordered and wouldn't be here for several days. The part would be dropped off at our home and we would be called for an appointment to install the new part. I couldn't believe that it was acceptable to leave us with no heat during a frigid cold snap in Janand just shrug and walk away. The next day we called the customer service number 4 times each time being placed on hold for 30. - 40 min only to be told that if we wanted to talk to someone in management leave a number and wait for a return call. No phone call was returned despite going through this charade several times in 2 days. After the 3rd day of no heat, a relative provided us with another heating specialist who came promptly ( despite a bad snowfall) and within seconds of assessing the situation, flipped a switch and had our furnace up and running. He did a diagnostic assessment and could not see anything wrong with the furnace nor did he even know the type of part the Enercare the technician was ordering. I was flabbergasted and angry. Enercare's blatant lack of regard for the needs of their customers is appalling. They take your money every month but demonstrate a disgraceful lack of customer service. I will be cancelling my plan with them and let everyone I know that Enercare is disreputable and a waste of money.

    Service from the Dark Ages

I paid for servicing of my furnace before winter and it was given the green light. It suddenly stopped working during the cold snap last week. I went through hell calling to try to book a technician. By that time the furnace started working again. I wanted the technician to make sure it was fine and he said it was in perfect running order. I paid for the diagnostic and the next day it stopped working again. I called and called to try to book for a new furnace install. No operators. They are perpetually on the “we are experiencing a higher than normal call volume.” message. You leave your number and nobody calls you back. Unacceptable considering the minus 30 temperatures with no heat. I researched and called a competitor and they were over within the hour and the new furnace is being installed tomorrow. There is no accountability and no follow up with Enercare. Nobody cares about you. They cheap out on staff during the busiest time of year when your need is crucial.

    Furnace broke down

Company is the worst. No heat for 4 days. Every call to customer service is between 30 mins to 1hr on hold. No empathy. You are a number. They do not give a crap for your situation. Currently on hold for over 1hr to speak to someone, and we have no heat since Friday (and its Sunday) and I have the "Premium" plan...ya what a joke. Stay away the worst customer service ever. Called them to schedule a furnace repair, was on hold for over

    Water heater replacement

On the coldest morning of the year, my rental hot water tank sprung a leak. A call to Enercare and they had a technician booked for that afternoon. The tech made arrangements to have a new tank installed, an appointment was booked for the next day. Three installers arrived and they were extremely polite and professional. They protected my floors with runners, they explained what they were doing, throughout the installation and told me when they were nearly finished. Paperwork was provided and when they left, there was no sign that three installers had been in my house, other than the new tank in my basement. Enercare has been great throughout my entire water heater rental and this experience, from the first call, to the last runner being rolled will keep me with Enercare and my recommending them highly.

    Furnace Issue

Matt, your service tech, certainly knows his stuff. Before arriving on the first call about the igniter he researched the history and noticed that there had been a number of calls concerning the replacement of the ignitor. He fixed us up that day but observed that the problem may have also been the motherboard. He said he would order one and it was shipped here. As luck would have it he was the tech assigned to replace said motherboard. All is good now and I would highly recommend his professionalism.

    Furnace Not Working

We are extremely disappointed with our experience especially considering we have been enrolled in the insurance plan for many years spending $23.99 + HST each month. At 10 pm after waiting on hold for a VERY long time we finally got through and got an appointment for the NEXT DAY IN THE AFTERNOON. We had no heat! The house was 9 degrees with an elderly person living in the home and Enercare couldn't send anyone sooner. In fact they told me we were lucky that it wasn't going to be two days later!! The service person came to our house and advised that the trouble we were having was due to the thermostat so he came the following day and replaced it. The next day the furnace stopped working again and this time we were not able to get through to customer service at all. Our calls were put on hold and never answered. We also tried leaving our number for someone to call us back and no one ever did. Completely unsatisfactory and we will be cancelling our enrollment!

    Regular furnace maintenance

I had my regular furnace check up today. Grant Harris was very thorough and very pleasant. He gave me some very good tips to help keep the heat bill under control. I hope to see him again next year.

Furnace problem (for 3 days Enercare cannot replace furnace motor)

Five days ago we informed Enercare that motor of furnace became very noisy and will probably stop working soon. Three days ago the furnace stopped working (issue with the motor). 24/7 service came only next day - yesterday. To order the replacement Motor we have to wait day, two, undefined!!! Provided phone number 9058510500x3100 - NO ANSWER!!! At home four people, two kids, in few rooms the temperature is only 8C. Electrical heaters manage to get 16C only in the bedroom. AND we pay monthly service fee Enercare - priority service!!!

    Yearly Furnace Inspection/ Tune Up

I have an older furnace so pay for their monthly protection plan - so far it has been good. The Enercare representative was friendly and explained the work being done or what was done.
