    Terrible billing and customer service

I have been with Enercare since they took over from Direct Energy nice they took over from Direct Energy which was a much better company!! Since Enercare has taken over they have screwed up my bill several times. No show for two appointments. They give you a four hour window and say someone will call you prior to showing up. One furnace maintenance appointment I got no call and the guy showed up at my rental property and saw the for lease sign and left. The next appointment I got no call and no show. I have spent hours on the phone, on hold for unreasonable lengths of time waiting for them to find my account, managers don't call back. Unfulfilled promises. Most of the contractors that work for them are professional when they show up and the receptionist are very polite but in the dark with what is happening in the back office which is where the big mess is. I just found out that they have more then on company that generates their bills and that is why they can never get their bills right . Today I have been on the phone for 40 minutes why they look for my account that I just paid! They just put me on hold again 50.09 mins and holding

    Water Heater

It is nice to see I am not the only person who has issues with Enercare. In short, they recently replaced a water heater, but it failed on day 4. We were leaving for a week vacation this day but called Enercare and told them of the failure. They could not service the water heater this day so they could only do so when we returned on day 11. On Day 11 they reviewed the water heater and said it needed a new part, but that they did not have the part and that it would not be in for a few days. At this point I am getting quite annoyed as why am I paying $30 a month when I am seeing no advantages of paying above market prices when I could buy my own water heater and have it fixed replaced much more quickly, pay less and have much less frustration. When the water heater was not fixed on day 13 I spoke with yet another Enercare customer service person who told me that if I wanted to break the contract that I would have to pay $1,600. I asked why and they said it is to buy out the 'new' water heater because I am not buying it out within 10 days of it being installed. In disbelief I responded "you want me to pay $1,600 for a water heater that your company just gave me that does not work"? The Agent replied, "yes". I told them that this is outrageous and abusive. I told him I am going to get my own water heater as my 2 year old needs warm water to take a bath and I am will never pay another dollar for the way that Enercare has failed and the immoral way they were trying to blackmail me to stay on as a customer. The issue is not resolved. I expect a long and painful battle. The reason I used Enercare in the first place was because of their promise to make it quick and efficient whenever I might have a water tank issue. They failed. In the process their customer service staff have been rude and no one seems to be able give me answers. I am now waiting to speak to yet another manager. I can't get a name or phone number to call a manager though. I have to wait by my phone day and night for when it might ring. I honestly feel that their business and the contract they claim I am bound to is disingenuous and uses deception. You should know that this is the first time I have ever written a review online such as this, but this is how wronged I feel by Enercare.

    Enercare

Service technician for rental hot water heater checked out the appliance and noted a couple of problem areas with the furnace which is 8 years old. I ended up taking out a service contract for the furnace/air conditioner based on the expertise and excellence of this knowledgeable employee. I am confident that this company can do an excellent job. I had a company in 2009 that while installing a new furnace, hit the exhaust pipe for the water heater. Forty eight hours later my carbon monoxide detector went off because of this pipe having come apart. It turns out the hot water heater installer did not glue the pipes together two years earlier. If I did not have the detector, I would have been dead or very seriously injured. So, given this experience with two energy company technicians, I am very fussy who I let near my gas-burning appliances.

We’ve always been pleased with the service.

We are always impressed by the gentlemen that do our yearly cleaning. They are polite and friendly. They take the time to answer all our questions. It was easy to make the appointment on-line to pick a day and time.

    Replace leaky pipes

Exceeded my expectations. The plumber Enercare sent (Andrew) was amazing. His colleague (who came to help him complete the tricky job on the second visit) was also superb. Very impressed and so pleased with the work that was done. Having Enercare's plumbing and drains insurance on my old house has proven well worth it.

    Feelling helpless

No hot water for four days now, and I have no idea when it is this will be resolved. 74 years old along at the house with no hot water and it is December. Rented water heater, always paid their bills on time. Technicians showed up and left 3 times now without fixing the problem. Virtually impossible to get to the supervisor, people just put me on hold and disappear. At this point, they tell me that the part they need has to be ordered from the Sates. This company is not helpful, every person I have spoken to so far didn't care at all. Total wait at home for technician to show up is 12 hours now. Total time on the phone with is close to two hours. I don't know how to get them to fix it. Feel helpless. The cost I am specifying is the approximate amount I paid so far for this rental water heater.

Installation of a new Water heater

The service tecks came on time, in fact they were earlier than expected. There names were Hamad and Ali. They took care to make sure this project went smoothly without any panic, but I'm a professional manner. These guys wee very good, left no mess, cleaned up well and were of great assistance in putting our laundry room into tip top shape. Glad you have people like these two guys. Would recommend them for any job requiring replacement of water heaters, especially electric ones. Good job well done!!!!

    Fall furnace/boiler check-up

The technician, Andre F. did the work very quickly. I was concerned that a rather unpleasant smell which appeared a few hours prior to his visit might be a gas leak. He not only put my mind at rest on that but came up with a couple of possible other non-Enercare sources. _Much appreciated. Perhaps it is my age but furnace technicians are much more pleasant to deal with nowadays.

    Water Heater Issue

We had a leak in our water heater and it had flooded the basement. I called enercare at midnight to report the issue and they had a service technician come to me the next day by noon. I was impressed with the turnaround and they did a good job fixing the issue. Service technician Raj Matharu was very helpful and pleasant to deal with. Would recommed.
